Elvis (2022) - How Historically Accurate Was It?
Baz Luhrmann’s film titled after the King of Rock gives us a pretty accurate depiction of Elvis’ life. From his early years through his rise to fame until his untimely death, his journey from Memphis was a spectacle to say the least. But just how historically accurate was Luhrmann’s depiction of Elvis Presley, Colonel and the life they lived?
Produced by Tom Capuano

What I found interesting was in the beginning of the movie, Tom Parker yelled, "Get that boy off stage!" and later when Elvis collapsed, Parker yelled "I don't care what you do, get that boy onstage!"

I was watching the trailor for this new Elvis movie. My grandparents just passed away a few months ago. I can confirm that the scenes of him as a kid in church are true. (they were neighbors lol). My family could stop talking about their stories of living down there. I agree with Lisa Marie, it's a real and accurate depiction of his upbringing.Almost everything (documentaries) I've seen about him automatically skips over his tough childhood.

Elvis wasn't drafted during Vietnam, which came several years later, it was just standard national service for young men at that time, I think following Korea.

Thank you for stating the truth! As a child of the 60s, I'm fully aware that we were not sending young men to Vietnam in the '50s! After World War II we sent young men to fight the Korean war before we sent our young men to fight in Vietnam! How could this channel make such an obvious historical error when it is supposed to be exposing fact versus fiction in the movie "Elvis". Making such a grievous historical error leaves me questioning the validity of this entire video!

I don’t know how to word this without sounding rude but it’s a genuine question. Why do voice videos on KZbin all speak like this. Like in a mental AI style way where every piece of punctuation is really pronounced. Really long sentences with weird cadence and lots of up talk. But then ending every point with a really emphasized drop in tone. It can’t be a regional thing. As I hear it from British, American and Australian voice overs. I don’t know who decided this is how KZbinrs should speak but it’s awful and none of the very best do it so why is it so common. It’s like how all flight attendants speak with the same weird rhythm. I genuinely want to understand what’s going on. Is it just how what happens with people who arnt very comfortable talking and are over rehearst?

good question 🤔 it's weird many times it seems impossible to think how these voice over people even look in person.
