The probability storm scene solidified Scott as the best MCU dad for me. Granted, he doesn't have a whole lot of competition, but still; It isn't until the other Scotts realize Cassie is in danger that they all decide to work together. Proving that no matter what outcome, reality, or probability, Scott will always care for and prioritize Cassie over anything else! What a great dad!

There's a story online about a sailor for the US navy watching a tired commander waddle into the dining room, get upset over the sunlight in his eyes, and instead of moving to a different chair he called the bridge and ordered the ten thousand ton ship to turn a few degrees in the water. Point is: Never underestimate laziness.

The positivity from this channel is so refreshing. I’ve dropped a lot of film essayist on KZbin because a lot of their content came to be directly negative or going out of their way to be negative to big blockbusters. When I was in high school, my theatre teacher taught me to find the positives first and work back from there. I’ve found that this mindset has kept me from being jaded and more open to the hard work that goes into any movie/production.

Well, that's the beautiful thing about Kang in the comics. He is defeated a lot. In fact, it's almost comedic how often he loses. The scary thing is that he's not defined by his failure, and he can keep coming back stronger and stronger," Loveness argued. "It's not like you can just blow up the mothership, just beat him once and you're done. He is almost an existential threat, and the more you fight him the worse he's going to get."

With the probability storm where Scott and Hope's probabilities merge into one Scott and one Hope; remember that MODOK mentioned Shrodinger's box. There were a bunch of different probabilities, but once Scott and Hope observed each other, there became only one probability, so they all merged into that probability.

The best part of the movie was undoubtedly the family relationships. Like that scene at the dinner table? With all the ant and wasp family members? There was some calling each other out, but nobody tried to shift responsibilities or yell at each other to switch the blame, instead they approached responsibly and accepted it. In a world running on the rule of drama small things like that are super valuable.

I actually liked Darren MODOK too. It was weird and stupid but in a good way. It would only work in an Ant-Man movie. Also whoever MODOK is this proves he would look weird and hard to take seriously as an important villain. So either you never bring MODOK into the MCU, or you have it be a one off in a weird movie like this. Like I said, it would only work in a movie like this. Then you just add that MODOK is Darren as a fun/funny reprise and give the heroes a personal connection. As well as inventing a “plausible” explanation for why he looks that way and also answers what happened to Darren after he got shrunk. Honestly if you think about it it’s a genius move. It’s too bad not many people saw it that way.

MODOK was actually one of my favorite parts in the movie! I love how uncanny-valley he looks and I especially love the mask he has to make him look like comic MODOK. He was so threatening and funny, i really loved the character and how he was concieved. And you're absolutely right, his character just can never truly be taken seriously in the MCU, so why not have him in such a role? Though I could see a way they could have made him work. That said, I despite what Cinemawins says, I still hate how it ends with MODOK. I'm sorry, but that heel face turn just ruined the character for me and don't get me started on that death speech! That was so hard to listen to. I honestly wanted him to stay alive, somehow escape the Quantum realm and start up AIM. He would have been the goofiest villain to have around the MCU.

However, I feel like a series of EGA videos on Ms. Marvel could be more manageable? Plus it might be relevant to cover the series for the release of The Marvels later this year?) -The Croods -The Lost World: Jurassic Park (You've already done an EGA video on JP, which is celebrating it's 30th anniversary, so why not move on to its' sequel?) -The Bob's Burgers Movie

I had fun with this one. My main issue was that I was missing some of what I enjoyed a lot about 1 and 2 (which are my MCU comfort movies) which was how they portrayed the Ant-Man powers. To me in 1 and 2 I felt like I was along the ride, flying with the ants, driving in a tiny car. We shrunk with him and they got creative with the cameras. In Quantumania I felt more like an outside observer. That thing Cassie sais "No I couldn't see it, you were THAT small" kinda sums that up for me. So I was a bit disappointed about that, especially after the entry into the Quantumrealm was done in a cool way, seeing him shrink without a suit for once.

If I may offer a bit of a balanced perspective: It's too generic. We know nothing about Kang, his government, or what he's done, we just know he's some generic evil man who's taken over. We know nothing about the resistance, or even the person who leads them, they're just some boring freedom fighters, we don't even know what they stand for other than "kang bad". Janet shows a complete lack of trust in her family by never mentioning the Quantum realm, then the film tries to show her, and Hank, as a completely solid relationship. The storyline is predictable, trying to make MODOK sympathetic was an eye-roller, and there's a severe lack of actual characters. Sure, there's plenty of people, but we never learn anything about them. I enjoyed Quantomania a lot, and while I personally enjoyed it (I burst out laughing at MODOK's reveal), I can see why a lot of people have a problem with it. It's very surface-level. You're right about it being over-hated, definitely, but there are still a LOT of valid criticisms of the film imo

I know people have an issue with Kang getting punked by an army of ants but it's probably the most realistic thing in this movie. Some ant species can swarm and take down larger opponents and these ants had the numbers game in spades. As powerful as Banished Kang was, he wasn't going to stop a living biomass that size and he honestly wasn't the actual Conquerer at the peak of his power. He didn't get far enough but know who did? He Who Remains. He was THE Conqueror in the Sacred Timeline. Banished Kang knew it. The Council of Kangs knew it. He killed them all and conquered it all. This movie helped me appreciate He Who Remains a lot more in this particular context because he was peak power and had no one to oppose him prior to Loki and Sylvie. He was able to relax on his laurels to an extent. As for Majors, if they decide to drop him, recasting wouldn't be nearly as contentious as Chad Boseman. Majors isn't as fully established as Kang yet and the nature of the Multiverse means they can have someone else step in to be the version of the Conquerer that is coming in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. If NWH could do it with three versions of Peter Parker that look different, they can do with Kang. Best case scenario is Majors is cleared but right now, I'm keeping all avenues open and I'm not going to call him guilty before the courts decide. Unlike SOME people.

Scott’s book is actually something you can preorder now. It’ll hit shelves early September. My favorite funny moments were Scott’s audiobook, Quaz’s powers, “M.O.D.O.F.K.”, Veb running with the pack, and the Quantumnaut with the bridge code. Three things in particular that I liked about this film: 1.) Scott and Hope now have portable suits. 2.) No matter the situation, Scott’s driving force is his daughter Cassie. All of the possible Ant-Men including Baskin Robbins Scott formed an ant hill to help OG Scott fulfill his goal. 3.) The final fight between Scott/Ant-Man vs. Nathaniel/Kang gave us an idea of how dangerous one Kang can be. Now imagine a multitude… They didn’t say her codename, but Cassie in her suit is known as Stature. I feel like the citrus scene is a callback to Scott needing orange slices after getting a double whammer from Iron Man and War Machine. Parts of this movie gave me Star Wars, Guardians, TRON: Legacy, and Avatar vibes all at once. What I’m about to say is a rumor. I’d take it with a grain of salt, but in the event that they end up making a second season of Moon Knight they’ll consider making Rama-Tut the next main villain. As for the second post-credit scene, I don’t know if Victor Timely is a member of the council and I definitely don’t know if Mobius regained his memories or not, but for now I’ll take comfort knowing he and Loki are working together again. The adventure continues in Loki season 2, and you’ll be glad to know Marvel Studios finally unveiled that it’ll arrive for Friday, October 6. They also announced that Maya Lopez’ solo series Echo will premiere on Wednesday, November 29. All episodes are expected to drop that day. In the meantime, mark your calendar for Nick Fury’s solo series Secret Invasion. It’ll premiere on Wednesday, June 21st.

Even though it featured the next big bad of the MCU I felt that it seemed more inconsequential than other Marvel movies of late, and I really liked that. I definitely enjoyed this film. I think Kang not only proved himself to be a formidable and intelligent adversary, but he is shown to be persistent due to the fact that there are multiple variations of him throughout the multiverse. This film not only continues to expose the Marvel multiverse to the MCU, but it is an important point in the multiverse saga that the MCU is trying to tell. The Kang in this film was so dangerous that he had to be banished to the quantum realm by the dynasty of Kangs. Antman and Wasp defeating that Kang, ultimately led to the dynasty of the Kangs to take notice, and now get ready to intervene. Kang will definitely become a threat to the heroes of the MCU, and not just one version.
@Pecisk

I still think - hopefully Majors gets clear slate trough legal discourse - Kang can be very, very multidimensional character, not only because there can be many forms of him, but that his motivations are very hidden at the moment. He is sociopath, but he is driven by something we don't know, and with him, we don't have good pre-knowledge. He seems to be quite vengeful. They can also have remorseful and reformed version of him who might reflect to choices in his life why he becomes this murderous time traveler. I am not that keen to keep watching MCU, but I would love to see where Kang's story leads to.

I refused to disbelieve that the quantum realm monster-animal that ate the not-sun monster & got killed by the woefully-nameless cannon-head guy isn't Pilai, the extraterrestrial entity that killed Janet's father in the comics & led to her becoming the Wasp. Whether that specific creature is Pilai or just the entire species, I don't care, but either way, it is Pilai. Also, when Quaz (the telepath guy) said that Scott has 7 holes, I stopped & counted for myself. Only once I finished & tuned back into the movie did I realize that Scott was counting, too. He said "Yeah, that's right" right after I started paying attention again. (Oh, also, I recently watched a movie called "John Carter (of Mars)", & I kept thinking how it would be a perfect fit for this channel. It's a sci-fi movie that does a lot of things really well, but isn't really know at all. Any chance we could get an Everything Great About John Carter? Or an E.G.A. Arrival?)

I distinctly remember enjoying Quantumania more than even Across the Spider-Verse. This movie is easily one of my favourites ever. It might even be my number 1 favourite to be released in 2023, top 3 at worst The introduction and portrayal of Kang was definitely the best part of the movie for me. I've seen a lot of people criticise him "losing to ants", but Hank Pym's explanation about them was right there and no one seems to acknowledge it. At the very least, I don't ignore the scenes of him destroying planets and timelines or claiming to kill many Avengers, including Thor The mid-credit scene is what solidifies it for me. Seeing that the threat of Kang has only gotten worse with his countless variants gathering to deal with the heroes of the Sacred Timeline just gives us a glimpse into what is in store for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars MODOK was a bit goofy, I didn't care for Krylar, and I think this movie should have been released after Loki Season 2. But those are just minor gripes that don't significantly affect my love for this movie It's a pity that Jonathan Majors has gotten himself into so many legal issues of late. I hope whatever is happening gets finalised quickly.

You should have given 2 wins for how Loki and Mobius are together in the stinger, because it means that, unlike Wanda, his arc in his show stuck, and now he's a proper hero. Once again, thank you for doing these videos. This one really stresses how important it is to go into a film with an open mind and that often times it’s better to not watch trailers to avoid messing with expectations and running into spoilers. I did both not watch trailers and went in with no expectations and that’s probably why I love this film. Kang is great, as is Scott as always, the film was one hell of a start to the phase and as Kang’s first film. Cassie was the biggest surprise and I’m now really curious what she will do next going forward. Darren as MODOK worked to me since it acted as a good redemption for a character I hated in the original Ant-Man. I really don’t have any major complaints with the film that aren’t “this isn’t as good as Phase 3.” Keep up the great work, it is a great thing that channels like this exist.

Micheal Douglas is the low-key MVP of the Ant-Man films, and I'm always pleasantly surprised how game he is for all of this given what a SeRiOuS aCtOr he seemed to be when I was growing up. I can sympathize to a point with MODOK fans who wanted to see a version truer to the comics origin, but the fact they made a wonderfully-stupid-in-the-way-only-comics-can-be concept like that work in any capacity on the big screen is an achievement in and of itself (besides, we all know the loudest dissenting voices aren't hardcore MODOK stans but in fact CGI luddites and anti-Marvel 30-year-old boys) Finally, I'm still agog they actually brought in Rama-goddamned-Tut and I'm very excited to see where they take it.

I'm just saying IF Scott had died keeping Kang there or even had just been stuck in the quantum realm to contain Kang, it would've given reasonable excitement going forward in officially forming the Young Avengers to go fight Kang without it feeling like an advertisement for The Young Avengers or Kang Dynasty and we'd keep the Quantumania Variant of Kang who would be even more angry since he's still stuck in the quantum realm for now til some Young Avengers give him another chance out

so in quantum mechanics, multiple probability waves could interfere and cancel each other's probability out, that's probably why when the Wasp joined with Antman in the probability storm, other versions of themselves disappeared, it's a "when the two of them are together there is only one possible course of action" type thing, and its probably the only part this film has got remotely accurate of quantum mechanics, and its probably not even intended by the writers, and I probably used way to many probably in this text XD
