@@ryanweaver5065 It seems like time in quantum realm is not that straightforward. For example, it was never discussed how long Janet was in the quantum realm, and she definitely was there longer than couple of days. It probably was comparable to the time she was there from macro world's viewpoint, because they didn't really seem to notice the difference. The first movie established that quantum realm is a place where time and space do not matter. With space that really seems true, as it doesn't seem to matter where you enter it, Hank for example was able to find Janet. But with time it seems more like there could be so kind of jump points (for example created when the tunnel is used), and Scott accidentally fell into one that lead to the point in time the mouse activated the tunnel in Endgames.

I realized at some point that it also applies to the other two pairs. I suppose you have a limited time frame, but something else that deserves a win. The scene where the Ghost talks about kidnapping Scott's daughter, and Bill puts his foot down saying he will not under any circumstances help with abducting an innocent child. That moment really cements that Bill is a good person who just happens to be in opposition to the movie's heroes. Bill is willing to do things to Hank, but the movie makes it clear most of us wouldn't be stand Hank Pym in real life either. Bill and the Ghost come off like another superhero and mentor duo. The Ghost is a child how had a science accident that gave her powers that are killing her, in some part thanks to a jerkass scientist, lost her family, and she has a fatherly mentor helping her in her efforts to stay alive and cure her condition. Given the MCU's love of poking fun at movie conventions I feel this them intentionally creating a duo who would be the movie's heroes under different circumstances. Agent Woo is somebody who would have been so easy to make more antagonistic a character, and while I get that corruption in law enforcement is a huge issue in real life, hell this movie has some corruption in the FBI, he's far more memorable character by being a good law enforcement agent who is just doing his job. Plus he wouldn't be nearly fun a character if he were made a full blown villain.

One thing I really liked about Ant Man and the Wasp is that it's got one of the most simple, yet perfectly paced and streamlined plots of the MCU movies. Plus we got to see Hope being even more of a badass hero now that she suited up as Wasp, than in the first one. There's no complicated story that sets up why a villain is fighting the hero. Ava wasn't really that much of a villain in the typical sense. Yes, she was mad that Hank had her father discredited and fired, but really her main motivations are to heal her chronic pain and prolong her life.

One thing I can add that I really liked about this film is the fact that there are no traditional "bad guys". The two antagonists' motives aren't truly nefarious. Burch is just out to make a buck with secret tech and Ghost is about self-preservation. Thanks to Foster, she only borders on Machiavellian methods. Plus, Goggins is so awesome that he makes Burch likeable. This movie was cast so well on almost all levels.

Also, the stakes aren't traditionally "high," like in most superhero movies (ie. they aren't saving the world). Yes! I just loved her development. She starts out as a child who became the victim of an unfortunate accident that killed her parents and left her with a terrible power that she couldn't control and caused her great pain. She was willing to do whatever for someone to cure her or kill her. She even trained to be an assassin and a killer in hopes that they would fulfill their promise to end her suffering, which they didn't. Everyone that said they would help her didn't so when Foster was holding back on not wanting to kill Janet, she began to panic and become more desperate. But you saw the good in her even in these desperate times when she agreed with Foster that kidnapping Cassie to blackmail Scott was too far. Everyone she trusted to help her didn't so you can understand how desperate she was being only days away from being torn apart cell by cell. Then when Janet returns and gifts her QR energy, she begins crying as someone was finally able to help her. We see throughout the movie that she's not proud of the killing she's done but is just being forced to do them through desperation. And now that she's safe from dying for the meantime, she's willing to face her consequences. In the end, she finally finds people that can truly help her and finds her place. Eva is definitely one of the best developed villains we've seen from Marvel. Can't wait to see her in Infinity War (hopefully). I also just love her powers, how she uses them, and how they're portrayed on screen. I love seeing her "glitch" with powers causing her body to separate and appear in multiple places as she's making decisions or is stressed, tired, or suffering from a lot of emotions.

I love the ambiguity in the movie. It's established that Hank kinda fudges the retelling a bit, like when he talks about how Scott got involved with them to make it seem like Scott was just a random burglar instead of one Hank specifically hired to break into his own house. Between that and Hank's numerous problems breaking up with past colleagues, it makes it absolutely believable that perhaps he's wrong about Elihas being a traitor. It's further cemented by Ava's motivation simply being that she's dying. Her condition's going to kill her. She's lived her whole life in pain. Now she's so close and she's desperate, but Bill draws a line at one action she wants to take in particular. And she backs down when he talks her out of it. This is some true moral ambiguity, not the half-assed "Well maybe Thanos is right to kill half of everyone" stuff. These are real people in really bad situations trying to do what they can despite it making them criminals. And that applies just as much to the Ant-Fam, too.

I really like the (Ava) MCU Ghost. Comics Ghost was more of a creepy thief stealing from Iron Man. But this Ghost was a lot more personal and sympathetic. The story didn't need her to go to the dark side, like going after Cassie (cause they already did that in the first movie), she's just a person in constant pain who's been used. I'm also glad that Janet helped her. This year we had great MCU villians like Killmonger and Thanos, but I think Ghost is still pretty great. I think MCU is learning to make better villains. Her conflict is more personal salvation rather than political entitlement. I hope we get to see more of her and Bill (Lawrence Fishbourne) in future MCU movies, possible a "Thunderbolts" movie (Basically they're like Suicide Squad).

Tobias Ford in season 1 of Shield gets caught in an explosion that traps him between dimension, leaving him limited control over his intangibility and invisibility. Season 2 of Agent Carter has Doctor Jason Wilkes is exposed to matter from another dimension and again becomes intangible and invisible. The Season 4 of Shield has even more of ghosts, this time created using a book of magic, combined with more dimension-tech. I mean really, Doctor Foster should have enlisted Fitz-Simmons, they already solved this problem.

1:21 This may be my South Korean heritage rooting for a fellow countryman, but ever since Randall Park's SPIRITED performance as Kim Jong Un in "The Interview," I knew he was gonna go far. He will always be a win in my book.

that bass sound in “I Shrink, Therefore I Am” (the chase scene) absolutely HAS to be in some way, shape or form, a reference to The Locust. That’s the only time i’ve ever heard a PLL or Data Corruptor used like that. Has to be.

You say that ant-man is the last standing non OG avenger but isn't war machine still alive? He didn't become an avenger until the end of age of ultron so he's definitely not an OG avenger

Yeah, but the way I see it is other than Rocket and Lang, all the remaining main heroes are from phase 1

Standing was in quotes, as in, he's the last OG avenger with the ability to physically stand unassisted (War Machine was crippled in Cvil War). also, Rocket is a guardian, not an avenger.

I like the Father-Daughter relationship of Scott and Casey even though we only see them in a few scenes. They're cute together.
