Interesting thing I noticed in episode 11, when Denji and Power finally got a hit on Kishibe, Denji's pants leg is split vertically, foreshadowing what is going to happen in the fight between him and the Katana Man.

Thanks so much for making 2022 a great year for me in spite of the many, many difficulties faced by the channel. You've been by my side throughout it all and a great many of you made it your personal mission to help me and I can never thank you enough for that. Anyway onto the video, Chainsaw Man was an absolutely banging anime, I loved it an unreasonable amount to be frank. Hopefully you show this video some love and appreciation since, as I mentioned at the end, it contains over 1000 parts that I pieced together by hand and is by far my largest video to date. I wish you all a brilliant 2023 and hopefully we can continue to love and appreciate anime throughout an ideally amazing new year! Edit: Forgot to mention I brought it out today, the 29th of December on a Thursday as I wanted to drop it outside of new years eve when again most people are busy. Something that floored me, more than it's action or BOP of an opening, was the number of quiet, atmospheric scenes. For a show with a name like Chainsaw Man, you expect a seinen slugfest with a pretty even spread of action, tragedy and a dash of comedy. But there are scenes like Himeno's drunken walk through the apartment, or the scene in the hospital that cut the music and give you a few minutes of contemplative ambience. Aside from giving audiences a break from the massacres that the fight scenes can be, it really does help sell the setting and let's the watchers immerse themselves. A real ballsy move by the artists, and one I think pays off in spades.

Then you get stuff in it like Aki & Himeno, the Denji's goals throughout the season actually being dead serious, hilarious, and emotionally impactful at the same time, just all of it was so damn good. Really wish the manga would update faster.....

One thing I greatly appreciate about MAPPA is they tend to pick newbies for lead roles and also like to work with new or anonymous musicians for their osts. So many vocaloid/former vocaloid creators were brought on board for the op and eds.

The manga made me feel things dude. I always thought it was odd that I never found books or other forms of written media to be as jarring as their animated or live action counterparts, but fuck me, the manga is literary gold. I think i got dehydrated with how many tears there were.

One thing I love about the manga is how kobeni is presented. We know she doesn’t want to be sexualized due to her choice if being a devil hunter, so she is the least sexualized out of all the characters as that would go against her character.

A small detail that gets overlooked but the eyepatch girl didn't say "I'll give you my body" or "I'll give you my life". She specifically told ghost she will give it EVERYTHING and i think that included her feelings. This explains why the hand resurrected Denji and why it gave him the cigarette.

I love that Denji and Power are like, "We'll be smart and use our brains to beat him!" Then you see them wearing glasses because that's what smart people wear. Even though they are the dumbest characters, they still act all proud about how smart they've become later on too

Also any of the eds could've worked for an entire session, but getting 12 separate ones? Fun fact about Katana man's special move: The delayed cut where his opponent take a while to actually got affected by it is actually part of his power and he got affected by it too. That's why he can trash talk for a few seconds before getting sliced in half.

This became one of my favorite anime, and I can't believe you already got this video out so fast. I'm a huge fan of yours and I appreciate your work very much. I find myself watching your videos to find new anime to watch. You introduced me to Konosuba, for which I'll always be grateful. :) Chainsaw man really rocked me. I loved the art, the music, the story, the characters, everything. It's in my top five favorite anime of all time now. Great video as always (at least, the first few minutes are - I accidentally came in pretty early. ;-). I agree with you about the opening - it's pretty incredible. I play it sometimes just to watch it. I also really loved Denji's voice actor - he's amazing. Thank you for your expertise, humor, and all of your work! The scene where Aki presses Denji's head up against the window in episode two - there's one more meaning. Or foreshadowing. Aki hears that Denji would befriend a devil... and immediately assigns Power to work with him, killing two birds with one stone. I like Aki for a lot of reasons, and I really think this is one of them. I'm going to sin this video one sin for saying the Soviets were so long ago. It wasn't that long... was it? Oh my.

Galgali (the violence fiend) is my favorite character in CSM. He's actually one of the more complex characters, especialy for a fiend. He's easily the most humane devil and actually understands emotions and how feelings work because he took over a newley dead body that still had some brain fucntion, which gave him some of the hosts memories. Also he's nice to Kobeni so 10/10

It took me over 3 days to get through this video, because I don't have the time to watch it all at once, and also my short attention span doesn't help. But clearly, this show has surpassed all expectations of both new viewers and manga readers alike. The show is less of an animation and more of a cinematic experience. I'm so glad the directors realised that adapting the work of someone like Fujimoto who takes full advantage of the pen and paper medium was impossible in a contrasting medium such as animation, and they put their own spin on it. Adding scenes like Aki's little morning routine to it, and the trio hanging out at the end, added so much life and personality to the whole thing. Not to mention the insane animation quality, amazing dynamic cinematic shots during the fight scenes, and the banger OST. This was probably the best anime adaptation of any manga ever. It managed to retain the essence of Chainsaw Man, while putting its own spin on it. Can't wait for season 2.

The two things that shocked me more about Chainsaw Man than anything else is how many people took forever to realise that Makima is clearly manipulating Denji,if they realised at all, and how many people were totally down for Himeno sleeping with a drunk minor.

So a little correction that the original anime translation got wrong, when the Future Devil reads Aki's future, the line is supposed to be "the worst" rather than "totally rule" for his death

Imo it feels like he's talking from his POV rather than Aki's. To Aki it's gonna be horrible, but for him it's gonna be a fuckin bop to see when it happens, atleast that's what I got out of it. Also "Your death will fuckin rule" is such a raw line.

the part where the Future Devil said his death will "rule" was falsly translated by Crunchyrolle. it was meant to say "your death will be the worst"

This anime legitimately made me WTF at least once in every episode for entirely novel and interesting reasons each time (rather than trope-y anime nonsense). I was hoping for a Wins video on it from you! I love the optimism in your work!

fun fact with the future devil there was a mistranslation; instead of it being aki's death ruling it was supposed to say that he is going to die in the worst way possible. The mistake was fixed within a couple days.
