A couple of details you might have missed: 1) During the final credits, when Rose is renamed as 666, the credits reflect that - she's not Rose anymore, she's 666. 2) Also during ep 20, with the bait atomic, a lot of people miss that the weather has changed. You could say that Cid didn't cancel the nuke but redirected it at the sky and nuked the clouds

Rose's whole story honestly broke my heart. She did absolutely nothing wrong and lost everything for it. That final scene with the food wrapper was heart wrenching.

Same, dude. She is a kind, loving, hopeful gal, and she only wanted to follow the path that she felt enlightened by. She happened to incidentally fall for Cid, and actually wanted to work on and invest in a future with him. Seeing the King, her FING FATHER, reduced to a braindead state in front of her, was horrible. That tear she shed when he said he forgave her...I got a tear for her.

The food wrapper seems odd at first but it represents the absolute last thing that she had, her relationship with Cid, at that point she truly had lost everything. Rose Orianna is one of the best characters in the story because she is introduced as a pretty standard class president and quickly becomes much more, she demonstrates herself to be a proactive and brave leader (if perhaps a bit rash) when she leads the fight against the fake shadow garden in the auditorium, then her relationships with Cid and Alexia give her more depth and finally the whole ordeal with the possession and her father give her a very important role in the story. Rose continues to be extremely important as the story shifts to the Lawless City and the Oriana Kingdom which briefly mentioned in the anime, what happened to her father is truly sad and expanded on later in the Oriana Kingdom. Rose does get her kingdom back but it comes at considerable cost.

Hope you're as excited about the Season 2 announcement as all of us are. Also, at 12:55 he's not actually trying to pull the sword out. He's making it look that way, but he's actually pushing it in. He's a descendant of the heroes, which can be easily seen from the fact that his sister suffered from the same disease as Alpha and the rest, which means that his sister was a descendant. (And they're related and all taht stuff.) Additionally, his hands are positioned in a way to push, not to pull, and the sword actually moves a tiny bit further into the ground.

You may be right but I took that sword to being originally Orivies that it was set to only be used by her and so Alpha would have been able to draw the sword and possibly only her in Shadow Garden. As Cid mentions he was expecting the true decedent to arrive, presumably expecting Alpha to show up and then winged it when that was going to happen.

6:45, there's an easy miss here, the assassin is "Executioner Venom" when Alexia told Cid in the hotspring that some time ago the "Wandering Swordsman Venom" managed to supposedly summon the Hero Olivier. Which, fair enough with the other revelations.

For me, this anime is a humour masterpiece, such a good satire of all the isekai anime we had. It's just the best isekai recipe we could have had to finally add something to the format. Plus, the studio made great landscapes or small details that just add up to the rest. Really reminds me of Isekai Ojisan which is also a hilarious isekai that went out last season !

I was terrified that the anime would butcher a light novel series that I loved, like what happened with Arifureta season 1, but I was blown away by this. A fantastic adaptation, they even make some improves to several scenes. Ep 20's fight between Beatrix, Irish and Shadow was vastly improved from the last novel. All the same beats are there but they turned a fairly simple fight into an epic. I just wish they would have included the line "Show me your Fangs, War Goddess". I love that line in the scene.

A huge win for me that wasn’t mentioned about 33:44 in is that he perfectly judged his opponents sword reach and stayed just enough out of reach to avoid the sword but then quickly closed the distance after her swing as a professional medieval fighter that’s absolutely a real thing and one technique I use frequently to win fights spatial awareness of myself my range and that of my opponent very minor detail but something absolutely real

One of the things that sets this Anime apart from the rest, is the masterful use of a type of parody that's rarely used ... The MC notices the cliches alright, but, instead of acting disgusted or annoyed like a stuck up critic, he happily walks into it and does everything he can to have the most fun he can with the cliche!

Something that I didn't notice about the whole anime until someone pointed it out, and a massive win, in the whole anime, he never defeats his enemies the same way twice. He used Atomic three times, and even that was a different one each time.

I've recently watched a few anime that lacked in what we might call plot or storytelling, but after watching EIS, I realized that the delivery of exposition can make all the difference in the world. The story of EIS is good but not great, but the EXPOSITION is fantastic. Exposition needs to be essential to the plot, give hints about the plot, or give obvious lies to make the viewer figure things out early to make them feel smart. In all honesty, the exposition of EIS makes the plot secondary, if not irrelevant. Listening to Cid's inner thoughts gives this away. When he's at the tournament, we aren't think about what the end result of the tourney will be, we wonder what badass thing shadow will do to screw things up. Our own thoughts are surprisingly in line with his. He isn't a psychopath, he's a storyteller, and he is the only one truly watching. Good thing we have a seat in the crowd too.

At 12:55 if you pay attention you can see the sword sinks further into the pedestal when it cracks(the widest point near the ground sinks below the cracks) this is because Cid isn't pulling on the sword, he is pushing down on it to larp his fantasy scenario even harder.

they really showed cids character in the final fight well bc if you look at the beginning and with beatrix hes having fun but with iris he is bored at the least and if not irritated bc as he says he only remembers strong opponents or those that give major impacts and the known ones he remembers to the end of season 1 are Aurora(Remembers as Violet-san) and beatrix but he remembers iris in the fight bc he was disgusted by her completely forgoing tactics and strategy and purely relying on brute force and artifacts (thou the anime and Novel are slightly different I assume the reason he remembers fighting iris is the same as in the novels) you could just see the annoyance on his face when Iris interrupted the fight and practically made it all about her and kept getting in the way of his enjoyment and its relayed well as he starts just experimenting to supplement his enjoyment after all beatrix did canonically make him get a lil serious not as much as other fights before and after this one but it was beatrix and iris kinda invaded the fight which annoyed cid

The fight between Cid and the ginger, she came at him with an attack expecting him to parry with the sword in his hand, but he wasn't holding a sword, therefore the attack failed because Cid dodged instead of parried and countered with his empty hand, a move that her attack had left her open to.

I think you needed to give a few wins for the foreshadowing. I mean they foreshadowed the ability Cid used against Iris way back in episode 2 in his fight with his sister. When he was thinking about what he could do just before he took the hit from her, one of the attacks was against her neck, and then she brings her hand to her neck as if she almost felt that hit. And second, throughout the times we have seen Rose, there are many times where she grabs at her chest. Now some of them could be mistaken for a physical way to show she is falling for Cid, but after seeing the possession taking her I think it was twinges from the start of the possession she was feeling without really knowing what was happening. They also foreshadowed Rose joining Shadow Garden in the opening sequence of the new world he reincarnates in. When they are showing the members spread out around the city, before going to Shadow and the 7 Shades on the rooftop, one of the members you see is Rose.
