How'd you not win the fact that the romantic sub-plot didn't try to overtake the movie or wasn't focused on too much? So many films try to 'balance' romance and action but fail miserably! I think it was a nice change to not see 'boy and girl MUST be together just cuz'
@timori52903 жыл бұрын
This was literally just that though, boy and girl must together just cause. There is almost no story behind it, no reasoning. I mean Thomas only really remembers here for like 2 days before they get out of the maze and split, to run trough the desert, which actually gives almost no opertunity to bond, he just bonds with brenda. To then get betrayed. Where is the opertunity to fall in love. Theresa clearly remembers everything, at least loving thomas. But thomas literally doesn't. So there was no point to that relationship when multiple different relationships where way more believable and logical.

I bawled my eyes out thanks to Thomas Brodie-Sangster's performance. Newt is a character I love so much, and the books didn't do his death justice, so I was hald excited half scared of what the films would do with it. I was definitely not disappointed, he deserves all the credit!
@wurzel96716 жыл бұрын
his death in the movie was almost infuriatingly pointless
@Dragonspirit2236 жыл бұрын
@@wurzel9671 I suppose... But in my mind, it's more of a 'rude awakening' for him once Teresa says he could have saved him. He goes to her side to save people who had his experience. It was also a extremely emotional scene for Thomas and Newt alike. Newt wants Thomas to kill him to save Thomas (And, presumably, the pain), but Thomas is still holding onto his 'save everyone' idea, and he can't bring himself to kill someone who he tried to save moments ago.

I loved the ending when you praised Wes Ball and all of the actors and characters. I remember so many people (when this movie first came out) kept saying how bad it was with little to no respect towards how hard the actors and crew all worked, and with little respect as to why Wes Ball actually changed things around from the book. But now people really seem to understand and praise the movie, actors and crew a lot more and that really makes me happy. I knew that the last movie wouldn’t follow the book, and I am actually glad that they didn’t. It wouldn’t have as much of an emotional impact as this movie did. They really made up for the first two movies in my opinion, and while the movie was long, I still enjoyed it nonetheless. So thanks Wes Ball, the cast and crew for an amazing ending to an amazing series and thanks for 5 amazing years of TMR!! ❤️ PS- LOVE that you gave a Gold Star to Thomas Brodie-Sangster. He is an amazing actor whose work seems to go unnoticed by many people, so to see people like you praising his work really means the world to me.

Also the fact that Newt hated WCKD so much but he still died in WCKD’s walls, in a WCKD suit, with a WCKD knife was so heart wrenching. He hated them for taking away his family, is life, his friends but he metaphorically died in WCKED’s hands. Another tragic thing was that he never realized that Sonya(Lizzy) was actually his sister, the person he loved the most in the world. In the Fever Code they talk about how much she means to him, after their parents were killed Lizzy was all he had left of his past and home, so he wasn’t willing to lose her. But he still did. Last thing, I promise. This ones more complaining. Gally was able to survive a spear to the chest but Newt could survive a knife to the chest, yes I’m aware of him also dying from the flare and that he took took a knife instead of a spear and blah blah blah, but I just feel like no matter what excuse people come up with for why Newt died but Gally didn’t I still think it’s a stretch. I’m not saying that Newt 100% should have survived a knife to the chest(I do wish he didn’t die though) I’m just saying that if they went with that logic, then Gally shouldn’t be alive either. Ok I’m done, love the books and movies, Newt should have lived and now I’m going to go die with my feeling.

Well now I am 100% certain that you are a die hard Halo fan. Over the years, so many Halo references from comparing Rogue One to Halo Reach and now that sneaky little reference to Halo CE with that scene where a shotgun was used at 3:42 . Each time you make any game reference, my wish to see a gaming related EGA video grows bigger and bigger. That wholesomeness that you spread needs to come to gaming too

THANK YOU. I loved the movies, they were so much fun and I was super excited to get the "real story" from the books and have, you know, more insight into all the short-cuts they must have taken with the universe and get plot holes explained and a better development of certain characters and... none of this happened. Turns out a lot of what I liked about the movies were movie-only additions and I'm sorry but the telepathy/mind-control thing was just the TOO MUCH. Thank God they cut that out of the movies.

I read the books when I was a teenager and saw all the movies in the theater. While they're very different I really enjoyed the movies, especially Thomas Brodie Sangster as Newt, and seeing them in theater is an experience, the sound effects and visuals are just done so ridiculously well that it's completely immersive. Not to mention the fact that the ending was sooooo much more satisfying which makes me really happy.

You’re crazy if you think I wasn’t sobbing hysterically when Newt died. I had to muffle my cries. I related to Newt, he was my favorite character and I felt as he was my friend, in a way. Watching him die, close up, real life, was gut wrenching.

As a book fan who always finds the books to be better than the movies, I can honestly say this final movie was better than the book. Newt’s death, Theresa’s conflict the ending held so much more emotion than the final pages of the book. I genuinely loved this movie with all my heart. NEWF DESERVED BETTER SHSHSHSU

This is really one of the very, very, few movies where I actually cried watching it. Watching Newt die was really the hardest part. First his turning, then dying when Brenda comes to the scene with the medicine just moments later. After that, when Thomas read Newt's letter and they were writing the names. That was really the hardest part for me.
@ibrooke40074 жыл бұрын
Such good acting on Thomas' part. Switching in and out of being a crank was extremely impressive.
@charlieiguess78903 жыл бұрын
I think what I liked most about this movie is how we usually have the girl dying in the boys arms, while he holds her and cries, and this movie just reversed it. Thomas was the one dying, Teresa held him. I don’t know why, I just really liked that. Also, I can=t believe you didn’t win the Maze-Mirror is what I guess was Avas office!
