Man this movie messed me up so bad, I found this series through a reaction. I saw the first 5 seconds and stoppend watching so I could see the series for my self. One of my best dissisions I've made in a while ^^. It just sucks that this is gonna be the final "Violet Evergarden" we'll get. Thank for this movie review. Stay awesome ^^ (Btw. GL in too the One Piece Jearney, how far are you in?)

Here I thought I had watched the movie already... nope I had only started to then repeatedly missed the rest for one reason or the other. I passout with great ease anytime I get to comfy or in the zone... I relax to much and blink sleep. I now recognize parts of this film while not knowing its majority... ouch. Well now I know and can finish it on my own time later. I watch the series to get my tears out its so good so not seeing the movie proper is an anime sin in my mind.

Man in just watching this wins vid I cried like 3 or 4 times and once I almost lost vision to the tears. Violet Evergarden has always hit home for me. I am no child soldier; I do not have a thought to be dead love interest; but the idea it keeps in the foreground of emotion for those you love but can no longer state the love to (dead or otherwise) now that is where it always hits me from. Grandpa Jess; my mom and now my dad are all the people it keeps me crying over. I say they are joyous tears reminding me of good times; painful as the memories can be. But how the series so impressively hits me in such emotions consistently I may never know... honestly don't want to. I imagine the Author wrote from the heart and that is enough of an answer for me.

I shouldn't have watched this in public cus god damn am I tearing up. Goes to show how amazing the writing is that even just seeing glimpses of the moments is enough to evoke tears.

even while watching this i was sobbing like a little child. Such a powerfull and wonderfull story filled with so many emotions. No other series/movie or whatever has made me cry as much as this show. It will always have a special place in my heart. Great video

I only got 54 seconds into the video before getting emotional- it took a while before I could watch it fully but I wanted to provide support. God damn I haven't cried like that in a while this is why its my favourite anime.

Thank You for covering the movie and making this old dude cry like a kid again!! KyoAni has a lot of great works but I think this is their finest, making us emotional not only with what they are showing us, but also bringing back those feelings from the series (ep 10 in particular). Sorry I can´t support you in Patreon as things are not going well over here, but will do in the future if situation improves for me. You make a outstanding job and really deserve all the support we can give. Once again, thank you.

I remember browsing for something to watch and came across this. I didn’t know about the show so I watched everything out of order. But to me, it didn’t ruin the experience at all. Outside of ghibli (bad spelling sorry) I think this whole series is objectively the most beautifully crafted anime out there. In my opinion at least

I wanted to rewatch this movie and this ended up being the recap I had time for and a speedrun of the tears while I was at it

If you like Koe no Katachi/The Shape of Voice by director Naoko Yamada, you should watch her other movies like Liz to Aoi Tori/Liz and the Blue Bird, which I find much better even. She also directed Heike Monogatari at Science Saru, which is kinda hard to follow but still a great watch.
