Thank you for making this video. As I watch average knitting influencer's podcasts, everything seems to be successful, which I think it can't be true. I knit since I was a child and still I frog more than I knit. If you knit less garments with caution, makes a good knit. It helps if you don't have 5 wips at the same time. 😊

thank you for watching! I agree with you - knitting makes us to make so many choices so I think it is very naive to believe that every project will be 100% successful. but I too appreciate so much that we can frog our projects and remake them and not afraid to do that as well, and even enjoy going back to my older knits. I just need to get the yarn right more frequently! but agree - this year want to make less and I generally prefer two wips at max at the time ☺️

35:50 I made a scarf in spring last year out of Cardiff Cashmere and it doesn’t show any signs of wear at all. I use my scarf every day to walk my dog, if its rainy I cover my hair with it, if its extra cold I put a hat over the hairscarf as well, sometimes the paws get tangeled… I‘m surprised about the yarn. So I don’t think it needs that much of special care. 😅

Great video, lots to think about. I would consider what test knitting brings you and if it's worth it for you. I think knitting well tested and tried patterns, can bring a lot of joy. Looking at other's projects really helps to get a good idea about what the project will look like and enables you to make sure you'll like it. I wish you a happy 2024 and looking forward to your new makes!

thanks for watching! true - I really want to try and do only one test knit this year that I have already committed to last year… I have (or had) a weird but strong desire to diversify the designers I knit from because of my social media accounts following - want to support more smaller ones on one hand but also be somewhat interesting. but you are right, sometimes joy can be in comfort projects, when you can ensure that you know what you will get. thats what I am keeping in mind for my next projects. have a happy 2024 too! ☺️

I'm so glad I found your channel, because I have very sensitive skin too, and it's nice not to feel alone in this. Especially as knitters, it can be very sad to have skin that's sensitive to a lot of wools. Also, I really appreciate your honesty and insights!

thank you so much for watching and commenting! having a sensitive skin as a knitter is definitely not my favourite thing, sorry to hear that you have this issue too!

Thanks for your honest video. You are very thoughtful in your reasons why you feel the way you do in your summary. You made me feel better about my colour choices. I am in my first year of knitting and felt a bit boring that all the colours I pick for sweaters are neutrals such as white, grey or black. Felt I should knit something in colour. But same as you I want to knit pieces that are staples in my wardrobe and will last a long time. Good idea to play with colour for accessories instead. Btw your knits for the year are beautiful.

Such a lovely and thoughtful video, you were so honest about your knits and it was so nice and refreshing to hear!❤ I have been thinking about all of my projects which were not a success, and it made me appreciate the knits a love so much more. Another sensitive skin over here so I totally understand your struggles. I also made cardigan no 8 and it is definitely my most worn garment this year! I find yours look so beautiful 😍 oversized but as it was on purpose!🥰 happy 2024!

You said that the skin sensitivity comes and goes, could it have something to do with the acne medication?
@kniteryna10 ай бұрын
could be yes but I use only topical treatments so it should not have a huge impact. I am also allergic to things like pollen and dust and this can perhaps also contribute to skin sensitivity at times when my overall symptoms worsen
@ensoknit8 ай бұрын
@@kniteryna Same! It's like the immune system goes further into overdrive! And fx I can eat walnuts in winter, but not in the summer when the pollen's out.
