I was born and raised in Salinas, California, and still here. John Steinbeck is a big deal here! They build a museum for him in Old Town Salinas. Growing up in middle school and high school, we got to read John Steinbeck books part of the curriculum, I loved it!

When I was growing up (UK), Of Mice and Men was THE book all British teenagers could quote and had a love hate relationship with lol (now of course they're only allowed to study British literature thank you Michael Gove). Still so fond of John Steinbeck and he inspired my fascination with American history! Would love to visit Salinas

I feel like with everything happening in 🍉 the last few months particularly it’s so important to read books like Enter Ghost (which I added to my TBR after your review) so we can see 🍉 in all its many colours not just the horrors that are being perpetrated on innocent civilians.

Naomi Klein has written some really relevant activist type books. Her writing style is so accessible too. Check out: The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism; This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs the Climate; No Logo; No Is Not Enough: Resisting Trump's Shock Politics and Winning the World We Need. Her critique of capitalism is very eye opening. She gave an amazing talk at a conference I attended.

I know the first one closer to her neck is from Laura Lee jewelry, a collaboration she had done with them a while ago, and I think it’s discontinued. I think the big eye one (that you can’t really see in the video very well, but is the one with the chunkier chain) is from the Great Frog. I don’t remember about the others but I hope, I helped.

Is there a way to take the closed captioning off? It's not on on my computer and yet I see the yellow text captioning what is being said. It is SO distracting and my ADHD brain cannot focus on what is being said or watching the video because I HAVE to read the captions! So annoying, what am I doing wrong??!

I counted 13 or 14 Books there..! Must to many books to actualy read in such a short period of Time. Maybe you can absorb the Books with your Magic Powers..! 🤔😇

I recently gave birth to my baby and even though I’m the busiest I’ve ever been right now I’ve still managed to read almost that amount of books the last three months. And if I can so can she and others like us. Some people are slow readers or not used to reading a lot while others are avid readers. For avid readers to read that amount of books over a span of a few months: you don’t need magic powers 😉
@HowToSaveMoneyOnCarRepairs4 ай бұрын
@@boba3242 Yes well, I know you all have Magic Powers to help you with day to day life and absorbing books...! Congratulations on the Bady, by the way...!🤔😇
@boba32424 ай бұрын
@@HowToSaveMoneyOnCarRepairsthank you regarding the congratulatory comment about the baby. Yes my magic powers are that after I put the baby to sleep at night and take a shower my way of relaxing is reading. For others it might be something else that’s why they don’t read as much as me or others like me. By reading every night little by little I am able to finish a few short story books and one novel a month. I also have a calm baby and helpful husband which makes my day to day easy. Point is, if a new mother can do it so can she. As another commenter pointed out: 4 books a month is lot to you? For avid readers that’s a normal amount. Finally, if you don’t think her videos are authentic or you don’t like her/her videos then don’t watch, nobody’s forcing you to watch them. Bitterness isn’t a good look on anyone; if you don’t like her then move on but no need to be mean. But hey of course it’s up to you 🙃
