The Fallout instantly became one of my favorite movies, and Jenna Ortega became one of my favorite actresses. This movie felt so real and actually rly relatable (despite me never going through anything like that). It just felt like these characters were people I knew in real life with their dynamics and relationships and the way they deal with things.

THE RUNNER was pretty much a long music video for a band from Savannah, Georgia. It was pretty much a documentary, music video, and horror movie all in one. I think it was beautifully done for what it was. I hope more people look into them. Cause I hope that group of people continue making stuff.

When I watched Sinister the first time I was excepting something very different and I noticed I had a hard time focusing on it. But then years later I gave it another shot, watched it in the dark, I was alone and had headphones on and it was such a good & terrifying experience. I think the sound design is so haunting.

Thank you for another great list, Emma! I'm excited to watch many of them. Two more I'd like to recommend - "They Live In the Gray," a horror movie about a social worker who discovers an evil presence in a family's home. Very well-acted. And "Boiling Point," a tense drama shot in one uninterrupted take about a restaurant, its wait staff, and a very important guest. This film was in my Top 5 of 2021.

Thanks for talking about The Fallout 😆 I’ve been waiting, glad you enjoyed it too. Also Zola, Thunder Road and Power of the Dog ❤️ I aware I was gripping the cinema seat for two hours straight in Power of the Dog. saw a Korean film called Spy Goes North that I know is based on a true story and I wonder if it’s the same as The Mole? I do remember getting spooked by Sinister at the cinema. It blew my mind finding out the kid in C’mon C’mon was British! Station Eleven is scratching that itch that the new The Stand series failed to for me. I have a few eps left too.

Hello there, First I absolutely loved The Fallout. I think the film handled a very sensitive subject in a very beautiful, respectful way. Second, I actually really like Sinister. I find it creepy and its kind of a comfort movie in a lot of ways. For me, it scratches the itch of true crime and paranormal and I personally love Ethan Hawke. The music and sound design is top notch too, which really helps sell it for me. I totally appreciate you sharing things that you did not finish, I sometimes find myself feeling like I need to push through it, but time is valuable and I want to enjoy the content I am consuming so its nice seeing someone with your platform identifying when you have done so, and do it very respectfully.

Please do a video about Sinister; it is flawed, but has a lot of elements I like (partial found footage, a likable but flawed protagonist, a situation you can see yourself in). It is more creepy than scary, and it is one of those movies that are less scary in retrospect due to being copied by others.

"I remember damage. And escape." RE: 'Station Eleven'. I've been bingeing on this show, (currently on episode 7), and had to tell you about an extraordinary experience. Five minutes into the first episode, and I thought to myself, "I've traveled this path before, in a significant way. I have lived this experience." Turns out that I HAD listened to the audiobook of this novel about five years ago, and that story was an incredibly moving, chilling, beautiful ride. It was like wading into a dark pool filled with mysteries and magic. Well, you can tell it still lives in my head. So many scenes from the book are like scenes from a personalized and pervasive movie. The series, with some updates and changes to improve the overall realism and continuity, captures all the emotions and ambiguity of the novel. It came as no surprise that the writer, creator, and other duties as required person, Patrick Somerville, wrote for 'The Leftovers', (another brilliant television show that nestles somewhere in my heart). This show has cast it's spell on me. I really hope that continues right up to the conclusion, that it keeps delivering the goods. If it does, I can add it to the selected list of shows that know me and sees me...and then breaks my heart and hands me a toolbox to help me put myself back together. It's possible that the ideal viewer of this show might be someone who has read the book. I really don't know. From my experience, the basic knowledge of the story adds an intense frisson. I had a real need to see what was in the book to be writ large within the show. Mackenzie Rio Davis as Kirsten is an inspired casting choice, and the rest of the cast is just knocking it out of the park. Television at its finest. Thank you for recommending it. How tragic would it have been if I hadn't watched it!

Sinister has a lot going for it, but most of the film is just Ethan Hawke shuffling around his house in the dark and jumping at noises. It's a great concept, the murder scenes are creepy, and there's a gritty, dark vibe that is successfully sustained throughout the movie, but it's mostly just filler set in a single location which leads to repetitive throwaway scenes to pad the runtime. It's like a movie that could have been truly great, but wasn't.

Goodmorning Emma, I wonder if you've seen Monsters, directed by Gareth Edwards of Godzilla and Rogue Wars fame, 2010. It is scifi, has creatures, is found footagey and may well stay with you. Just sayin'

PS: I watched Sinister a few years ago, & I found it very Frightening & disturbing with a Sad ending, so tho it's a well done movie, I don't desire to see it again.

I love sinister. It could have been done better, they show Baghul too much. But I love those creepy films and the ending.
