I LOVED Sleepers! I recommend it to anyone who likes seeking revenge. The courtroom part wasn't very long so I wouldn't call it a courtroom drama. You will definitely see Kevin Bacon play a brutal boy's prison guard. I have the dvd and watch it from time to time. Robert DeNiro plays a great role.

As a massive time travel nerd I was so thrilled that month that two amazing Australian time travel films came out in the cinema, The Infinite Man and Predestination. I’m very particular about the logic of time travel and avoiding plot holes where possible and not cheating the storytelling. It’s super hard to do and not many pull it off but I think both of these do. Predestination is interesting in that there’s clearly one HUGE paradox at the centre of the whole film but that’s kind of what it is about so I can’t begrudge it that. Re: Ozark final scene, it’s so MEAN but also it’s entirely explained in the tag line of the poster you displayed in your video 😆

I actually loved the ending of Ozark! I felt like everything came full circle. The entire series is about their family attempting, not only to survive, but to remain a family. And in the end, against all odds, that’s what they did. I felt like that final scene solidified that.

I felt like their kids had already proved they were going to be like then, with the son already doing his own laundering and the daughter was always lying for them. So that weird scene ending to prove that kind of felt unnecessary for me

Hey Emma:) Congratulations on your wedding I wish you both a long happy life together celebrating love! I loved Sleepers but I haven't seen it in years. I like vigilante flicks and when horrible things happen to people and they get revenge lol it suits my evil side. I may check out some of the mentions on your list I haven't seen. In regards to Ozark, I never got into it, I tried but it just was too predictable in my opinion just like I look back at Breaking Bad now and wonder why I was so into it other than the "hype". I don't know if you've ever seen my favorite tv show of all time Six Feet Under,(creator Alan Ball who also wrote American Beauty and True Blood) but I think it is available on HBO Max and it has 5 seasons and based on your taste if you've never seen it I think you will love it. Plus it is ten times better than any newer series I've seen and very re watchable though it is from the early 2000's And I agreed with you about Stranger Things until I watched season 4, so good. I love all of the nods to different horror movies and episode four was so emotional, first time I've cried over a show in a long time.

Hi, Emma! I would love to know if you've already watched the last ep of love death + robots s3. I totally agree with you in that it is quite action packed and with more fast paced stories. It's actually why the last ep, Jíbaro, is my favorite. I was so hypnotized by it! I made myself watch the season in order because otherwise I end up leaving those stories that don't sound as interesting as others for last. So this one being the finale (? was Such a nice surprise.

If you're looking for a great little indie gem, check out "Don't Come Back From the Moon." It's a drama featuring a terrific performance from Rashida Jones. "Predestination" is a film I've recommended to many people. I'm really glad you saw it, Emma. A nice surprise (and Sarah Snook!). Re: "Ozark" - I had a different ending in mind, but they definitely took a risk with the one we saw. But in a way, it fit in with the unpredictability of the series.

This month I watched The occupant and Sleep tight, that you recommended. Wow, what great films! I loved The occupant, it was a lot of tension and a great story. Very good ending as well. I'm so excited for July 1st when the last 2 episodes of Stranger Things season 4 drops. I hated seasons 1&2. Really liked season 3. But man oh man did season 4 blow my mind. So good. Sleepers is depressing true story that’s very tragic,then gratifying at the same time! It’s a sensitive film ,but still a very good movie we all should see! Predestination was one i constantly heard people say at the time that “they had no idea what was going on!” While that didn’t effect me and I followed along quit easily, I also thought it was a pretty rad take on time travel that still had an original element to its story! Em ,just FYI I’m a big Comic fan and I don’t like those films! I get it! Just saw Jurassic World D at the Drive In with Minions ,and I liked them both in that particular setting! Not sure how i’ll feel watching it again in the home theater ,but If nothing else ,It was pure fun and we had a great time! Yea you were slipping on Rent a Pal and tho i love it ,I can see why ,or how others may not! It’s like the film Donald Cries! I absolutely adore that film ,but everyone i’ve spoken to about it ,just hates it! Clones herself “because that’s the world they’re living in” Ha! Sums it up nicely! I eat brownies and you should too! The cursed! Now you’ve seen it,the period art, and details are the only reason i loved it! As a costume/Prop designer and creator, I was very impressed what they achieved with their budget! That’s solely why i appreciated this film though! Curious as to wether you agree with that aspect? I haven’t watched Unhuman yet, but wonder if it’s even worth $6 on Vudu? I trust your opinion! I cannot wait for Black Phone! Sadly i have no way to see it yet;.(.. American Werewolf of London is a film ,with a scene that truly scared the hell out of me! When the wolf first stalks them in the field! That scene alone is worth a watch! You’re slippin if you’ve not seen it yet! Silence Of The Lambs is a classic horror that is as good as a creature feature without ever being one! Being on the Spectrum myself ,i love the series! I’m on the “high function” part of spectrum but it fully explains my obsession with collecting ,obsessing over learning new things ,massive amounts of interests and hobbies ,and constant strive for a perfection i cannot achieve! That show ,the US and UK versions are actually my first time ever seeing others remotely like me on TV. I refused to ever search Asperger’s my whole life until accidentally watching the show! I wonder if you've ever sat down to watch nothing but werewolf horrors, or films with sharks, or witches, or spider/bug movies, or vampires, or Xmas horrors, just for the fun of it? (I did this with a friend and we watched over a long weekend 20 fish people movies, such as Cold Skin, Dagon, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.,. We settled on that theme after writing twelve movie themes on cards and placing them on the floor in a circle and spinning a bottle at the centre. Whatever card the bottle's mouth pointed to when it stopped was the theme of movies that we watched.)

Right! I *almost* gave up on season three of Stranger Things after episode five and was *so* glad I gave it another chance. The final few episodes of season three were awesome. Season four is my favorite thus far. It’s like a while other show, in the best way possible! A lot more depth and a lot darker and creepier. And I’m so here for it! Season three was a lot of fun with all the Starcourt mall stuff. Season two felt repetitive and dull IMO.

I saw a trailer to it this year and looked amazing:, perhaps a thriller vibe, could even be a UK thriller but a new release set for this year. The synoptics based on what i saw in the trailer. A wealthy man hires a house keeper to live in work arrangement. Beautiful state of the art house. She experiences strange vibes from the house , but as the trailer progresses it looks like she discover the wealthy man is hiding someone that looks like her locked up in his house. Sleepers is an interesting movie but as an attorney, I can safely say that the trial and the procedures in it would never take place that way. Especially the treatment of the guard as a hostile witness so that he would say terrible things about the victim. There’s no reason to attack the character of the victim in court just to hope that the testimony is stricken from the jury’s consideration. Making the victim look good or bad just sets up the defendants.

I disliked Stranger Things season 3 sooo much that I find it really hard to get into season 4. I've watched 2 episodes so far and they were really good. I really like how they amped up the horror. I actually like most Marvel movies and love a handful of them. The Multiverse of Madness was just really, really bad. It makes me sad because I love Wanda and Dr. Strange as characters. I wouldn't say it's too much horror really, it's just disappointing :/

I can't watch the superhero movies either from Marvel/Disney or DC. They are popcorn movies and I got frustrated with them anyway. Glad u have the same view as me. But Series like Stranger things are in the same category as the above movies as well. I didn't watch past season 1. They are time consuming and not fulfilling for me.

Predestination was so disappointing. That movie tries so hard to be clever and it just comes off as pretentious. The twist is so easy to spot. The Endless does time loops so much better and actually does something new and different with the idea.

Doctor Strange was okay but could have went much darker given Wanda’s motivation. Jurassic World was disappointing. Too many plot lines going on and not enough dinosaurs.

I think I’m in the minority, but couldn’t make it past the first half hour of You Won’t Be Alone. I’ll probably get around to finishing it at some point. I do agree with you that the ending of Ozark was really bad.
