Didn't the enderchest drop obsidian before, when mined without silk touch? I'm like 99% sure it has always dropped 8 obsidian, but am I wrong here???

It dropped obsidian when using a pickaxe even without silk touch, but now you can break it with your fist and get the obsidian, previously it would just break and drop nothing
