Update says that instead of refunding, the old assets give you a free unlock for the new ones.

Oh yeah real diverse base buildings, without any of the defenses I see no point in putting down anything aside from the command center and maybe that big bridge thing

You're missing some of the new gameplay that the new buildings add. You roll up on a base and drop a silo a command center and some walls and suddenly you have a planetside 1 tower to attack from. This gives you a fallback to hold pop when sunderers die and a place to pull sundies from. This will make fights way more sticky and drawn out. Then the enemy drops their own command center nearby and now it's a multidirectional fight around a base that can last hours, old school style.

The cortium bomb was pretty hilarious to use while it lasted. I'm a little sad that I wont be able to use it against vehicles anymore

Also another thing i said this an another video but the new building system seems like it really REALLY needs its own map to shine, a minimal dev structure map with probably much more open terrain. Ex of that kinda map: some parts would be oriented towards a base with high cqc, low long range viability and limits vehicle access but makes air effective. Another part would be vice versa, cqc less viable, more long range weapons, vehicle access increased and air access more limited. Another part could be heavily mixed and the might be areas close to the middle, making everything in those areas equally viable. Some water viability like large rivers that cut into other sections of the map allowing for alternate routes into the enemy base to catch them off guard, to incorporate the corsair's? hell you could even design those sections to be faction oriented so each factions side of the map benefits their technology more then another side, maybe a rock paper scissors rule on this map. Again that's just the terrain encouraging that type of base building, players may come up with ways to circumvent the terrain and make long range much more viable even on cqc terrain

You are absolutely right about the construction deterrents, before they had to deal with the defenses before rushing in with infantry, now there will be no deterrents to stop the infantry rush

i bin asking to make player bases next to dev bases for years as long as u can troll the exits. i think silo slots right outside the walls might work good ..in PS1 they let u build a bunch of stuff inside the base to was super fun

As a construction player, I mainly play alone. sure playing with a team is cool and good but when you build a base. You VERY rarely get help with it. Occasionally you'll get 1 or 2 people that don't coordinate that well. Having buildings in a base being able to be destroyed by just ONE person is a crap idea, especially if and when a builder is alone building a base and you see a whole building go bye-bye to one cortium bomb placed by an Infiltrator. Placing MULTIPLE cortium bombs at the same time. By MULTIPLE people. Now that I can get behind(kinda). Then your buildings are more easily destroyed by groups of pushes, vs that single Infiltrator attacking you while you are in the process of fighting the terrain to build a base. I see what they're doing by having bombs be placed inside module spots(I'm guessing it's for the reason that the enemy doesn't just place it on the outside on their side. Very hard for defenders to diffuse that.). But I think the whole reason for this is so bases aren't always just destroyed by 1 player that's significantly better at gun play then the opposing team. Forcing him to have to push forward with teammates. Not just soloing everything with occasionally resupplies.

Construction Modules should be hacked like shield generators at tech plants, that after 90 seconds or w/e get blown up. Or weak points like the orbital strike building has that vehicles can shoot.

I was big into construction, one of the very few. I've now since stopped playing Ps2 and I won't be coming back. This just isn't enough.

I'm excited to see all the new buildings and have some unique fights. But I bet after a few days everyone will just go back to ignoring them.

Ive been holding off buying construction buuldings for a while now, qnd im honestly looking forward to getting into construction after the update goes live. Assaulting bases as infantry previously has been basicslly impossible even when nobody's defending, due entirely to pain spires and AI turrets. Adding more possible spawns for defenders i think will balance out the changes to some extent, and builders will have to be more creative making defensible bases. I would like to see buildings and turrets be able to take more punishment from vehicles, but maybe bigger buildings and defensive modules will add something to that extent.

I'm actually concerned that once the "Aww new Stuff!" effect wears off on the community that we won't see anymore frontline bases and instead will only see vehicle pull or artillery bases. Heck the command center makes it as simple as play silo & command center and done you now have a vehicle pull base for everything.

The current meta is already that you build a small router base near the front, because of the 500m range limit. Routers are invisible on the minimap now unlike before, so I will sometimes use them to sneak up behind Lightnings that try to solo the base, or create secret spawns to keep small fights going. This role is going to be fully discovered with everyone trying the new stuff.

Command center is also a spawn room iirc. It can function for infantry play too.

gonna be honest i dont play planetside a lot but it seems completely illogical to allow hacking through a thick ass wall, a railing is fine but a wall no so much. For sundys, having to rely on an exploit to keep them alive screams that it needs a buff to survivability, cause on the attacking end youre gonna love being able to kill it faster but on the siege end youre gonna be pissed your sundy dies in under a second now cause you cant spam nades.

Sundies die to quickly because most of the classes can carry 2 bricks of c4 and delete then casually. Which after the max nerf is completely unneeded.

Not entirely sure how to feel about construction until it finally comes out but i'm not sure taking out pain spires was a good idea, the infantry turrets sure, the AA turrets were basically useless since we all know AA in planetside might aswel not exist but the pain spires offered some form of passive defense which gave attackers a chance to rethink their lives while burning to death lol. There's also the small thing that not many people actually looked at regarding the skywall emp mechanic aswel...with that being removed we're just going to have gals and valks literally hovering over a base dropping people into it making the walls useless and we already lost our passive AI and AA defenses so the entire base is pretty much screwed at that point plus the emp mechanic also damages vehicles that touched it meaning swagriders, flashes and harassers couldn't just ramp into a base and obliterate it from the inside without any repercussion.

The element that's missing is lack of visibility for construction being attacked - easily fixed if the base alarm makes an icon appear like leader attack/defend. Then all builders can redeploy and participate in defenses, same as QRF redeploy for everything else.

No pain spires, no turret automation. Also, maxed sensor shield: "Your radar signature no longer appears on detection devices outside of 10 meters, *and while walking, you cannot be detected by recon devices at all.*"

I am a construction player when I see a chance for it in certain fights, it's insane that yesterday I was streaming the game to a friend on discord and told him while collecting Elysium that it's 1- Too slow they should speed it up for about 20%, and 2- the max capacity should be at least 12000 exactly what you said in the video, is it just a chance ? No ... and that's why devs should listen to some experienced players who enjoy the game, and I am not a "salty vet" I feel sad for every less than 20 BR player I kill because I know the state of the game. I played every single game type there is and the only game I feel I could play forever is this one, I really hope they keep up the good effort and listen more and maybe not help kill the game, and yes, Fix the freaking Audio glitch I will never get bored of asking.

I was down for most of these until... the cooldown on equipment terminals, that's a HORRIBLE change for the exact reasons you listed. There isn't much to add here really, they're going to kill so many fights with this one. Do they think this will lead to more people pulling spawns or something? I wish I still had that naive optimism about some things in life.

How is it bad that Pain Spires are gone though? The whole point was to make these bases something engageable for anything other than armor columns. Automatic AV/AA turrets should be a thing. Only infantry players had to really worry about dying in a matter of few seconds, and avoided player-made bases because of this and the fact that you can't kill construction structures as infantry in an amount of time that makes the activity less tedious.

How about 10 objectives and you have to resupply every time and every time you 'win', all you get is like 1 cert and some damage, not even destroying the structure.

Asia server has best ping for me since they said "fuck you" to Australia and emptied our server out, and I've never seen so many hackers in a game before, the amount of times I die before I even see them come around the corner is mind blowing. Just laser focus on my face and kill 14 of my teammates around me in under a millisecond. Glad the game is dying :D

I say this on repetition. We need to delete hard spawns, and no deploy. Let players build all the spawns. Vehicles then exist to move infantry, deploy, build, defend, and kill spawns. This immediately kills Redeployside, even if we can still hop between player spawns quickly. Backcapping still exists but requires vehicles/construction to act as logistics to fill out the spawns for a hard base. Spawn camps are gone, because spawns die. Fights don't end the moment the hardspawn flips, because players are relying on having vehicles and logistics onsite to fight for the base in the first place. Bases would have fights advance through them, instead of just being fought over for a few minutes. I know this is ambitious, but it'll go a LONG way in moving the game into a tug-o-war battle flow which actually encourages fighting. It would ACTUALLY create a 'combined arms' meta by creating a very basic logistics system. Instead of sitting around ghost capping hoping a platoon shows up to fight at the last minute, you're already fighting for every inch of land to even take the base. Look at Squad or Foxhole. Very similar construction and player spawns available in Planetside, we just rely on flawed Hardspawns the devs built. Our pacing is also much faster, so these logistics won't be slow. It's very easy to pull a bus and park it, even to pump out a router FOB.

@@ZealousVidya Nothing about my proposal would slow this game down to Foxhole speeds. Foxhole crafts everything. We craft nothing, and instead build rather instantly. It's only an example because of how their construction and spawns work.
