A standard 1600 Bay had 50 bhp so with that engine installed that really will be a nice drive, they were never great on fuel but to be fair, its not a daily so who cares about that. Mrs S is the headliner / furniture queen so she'll have that interior sorted in a crack.

Thanks for the look around, and sorry to hear about your shoulder injury, - hope that it improves quickly. Law 1 of vehicle restoration: it's going to be worse than you think. Law 2 it's going to cost more than you think Law 3 the longer you leave the problems the worse they're going to get. Enjoy the Spring and Summer if you can get the van safe and reliable, and then get it into the workshop ASAP once the days start getting shorter again. Best wishes.

Hi, it has got the wrong dashboard. There should be 4 slim vents like the 2 yellow. The one you have is from a T2b

Cool bus . Oil leak could be rocker gaskets,oil cooler ,pushrod tubes or crankshaft seal but best to clean everything then cardboard underneath run engine and wait . Good to put your own spin on interior 👍

Hi Marc, as a previously said, I drove a few for the firm I worked for in the early70’s. The blue you have inside looks like the standard colour they all came in. It was the equivalent of the white van today.

Had a similar issue on Millie when starting she just wouldn’t go, but introduce jump pack she was away. I found my battery was good but didn’t have enough cold cranking amps for a first start after sitting a few days Hope that helps?

Thanks. The steering is shall we say interesting. But not to different from what I have heard it’s meant to be. I am planning on investigating this further down the line so stay tuned but for now it drives decent but might need the box doing one day.
