55:44 The man doing all the killing was Frank Cullotta. He was also the technical adviser and a real mobster that was part of Nicky's (Tony Spilotro) crew. He became an FBI informant because the FBI played a tape where the bosses were complaining to Tony that things were out of control in Vegas and Tony blamed him to which the bosses than ordered Tony to kill him.

My best friends roommate at Indiana University was Pat Spilatro. Those were 2 of his uncles that they found in the cornfield. He got pulled out of college right after that, but became a dentist in Chicago like his dad. Supposedly his dad was the only clean brother out of 7.

@@donaldshotts4429it really is sad having a criminal family like this because you said "supposedly clean" and even in my head I went "I doubt it". Truthfully other than some "blood" money, your roommate and his father probably were clean. Being involved in a family of their nature it's probably hard to even want to try and stay clean cause of people like us that are skeptical of them. I'm sure many gangsters went through the effort and realized "I'm damned if I do or don't so I might as well do what my blood relatives are doing".

Comments talking about how De Niro is a simp in this movie are missing the point. I mean they're not wrong, but it goes deeper than that. His character thinks that everything can be reduced to logical rules with a chance/risk element that can be calculated and dealt with, like a game of blackjack. But life is full of people like Nicky and Ginger, who are wild and want what they want even if it isn't rational. And Ace himself is more like that than he wants to admit, not least because he marries a woman who he knows is wrong for him. He tries to convince himself that he's though it through logically, but it was ultimately an emotional and rash decision that he tried to justify in his own head.

Once again, you show such great understanding of all those characters. And I agreed with you rating. It's a wild ride, this movie, it's funny, it's intense, but I don't see it quite as perfect as "Goodfellas" (the movie it's always compared to). But it's definitely a movie worth seeing, for sure. I remember seeing this on a big screen, it was intense! That opening explosion and the credits alone was worth the price of admission! Anyways, thanks!!! See you on the next one!!

Great reaction!! I saw this movie for the first time in Las Vegas. I was visiting a friend who grew up there and she took me to see it. The next day she took me on a tour of all the locations from the movie. While I was there visiting they imploded one of the hotels; can't remember which; either the Hacienda or the Landmark. I took an ashtray from The Sands, which was imploded shortly after my visit. If you haven't watched Boardwalk Empire (about the history of the mob/Atlantic City) I recommend it. It's not a long series, and it's pretty much biographical as well.

Good video. I always felt that a story this massive, with so many moving parts, deserves a high quality mini series on HBO, like Chernobyl. Even then this is one of the greatest movies of all time. Fun fact: they guys doing the assassinations in the end of the movie (while House of the Rising Son is playing), were the actual same monster who did those murders in real life. By the time the movie was made, they had made their way out of the mob life and worked as movie and tv advisers.

Ha, you knew these characters better than they knew themselves! Just to let you know: Not ALL Scorsese movies are mob movies, in fact most of them aren't, he does all kinds of movies. Goodfellas and Casino are very similar, of course. But The King Of Comedy is a fantastic satire/dark comedy about media and celebrity, De Niro is amazing in that, and even more in the movie they made before it, "Raging Bull", a biopic of the boxer Jake Lamotta, amazing boxing movie (Joe Pesci is in that too). After Hours is a wild, weird Twilight-Zone type comedy (like a darker Groundhog Day), super crazy 80s movie! (De Niro isn't in that one) Cape Fear is an intense suspense action thriller, really good, their biggest hit together, crazy movie. "Taxi Driver" is about an isolated wacko in NYC, driving a cab, slowly turning psycho, an early classic of theirs. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore is a single mom trying to make it kind of movie, really good. The new movie he's about to come out with in October is a true crime story about oil being found on Native American land, "Killers Of The Flower Moon", looks amazing. He's done spiritual movies like Kundun (about the young Dalai Lama, really beautiful), The Last Temptation of Christ and Silence. He did a romantic period piece that takes place in 1800s NYC, "The Age Of Innocence". He's done some very good documentaries, many of them about musicians. So they're not ALL "rise and fall" of criminals movies. LOVED this reaction!

@@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy Oh so sorry! Absolutely, no problem! I didn't mean it! So sorry. I usually never give spoilers. I'm so sorry. Many apologies! As far as figuring out why, it's simply because you're natural, you're yourself, you're getting into the movie (which is what we want), and if you've got something to say, you say it. You don't push it. Some people turn it into a performance. But there are all kinds of reactors, whatever works best for them. Professional setups don't matter to me, I always know the movie or TV show a reactor is reacting to, so I don't need to much to know what you're reacting to. One of my favorite reaction channels has two guys and their apartment looks like a mess. I don't care how anything really looks, I'm just interested in whether or not the movie or TV show holds up for the reactor. As a big fan of this stuff, it's just interesting to see. Most of these movies I've seen so many times that I would never put them on for myself. But to revisit them through your eyes, or someone else's, it gives us the experience of seeing it for the first time again. So, I wouldn't worry about changing anything. If something bothers YOU, by all means change it, but I don't notice any difference in your videos from anyone else's. It seems "professional" to me! The edits are fine, I can hear the sound great, I have not one complaint about the way your present your videos. Ok, I sure write a lot, many apologies! See you on the next one!

@@randomlyreactandreviewfirstEzy Granted, Ginger was very beautiful before all the mess of drugs, and her ex pimp constantly manipulating her. That was easy for him because he was grooming her since she was 14 years old. There are many women out there that would walk the straight and narrow if they were married to such a rich, and powerful man who never denies them anything. Ace knew that she didn't love him when he married her because she told him so, and then he gives her all this money and jewelry, and even trusting her, which makes no sense to me. For the reason as to why you see so many of the same actors in Martin Sorcesse movies is that Sorcesse like those actors, that they worked so well together. Directors often recycle the same actors for those reasons. Alfred Hitchcock used Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant in his movies (but not together as far as I know. That was the day in which you only had room for two big stars in a film, the lead and his love interest, not the ensemble of big stars in one movie). It was about chemistry. Of course the audience love it, so they enjoy seeing Pesci and Dinero so you will get a lot of Dinero and Pesci movies.😊 BTW, those weren't cops smashing the cheater's hands, but casino security.
