What do we have here? Six titles, sounds promising! *crosses fingers* (1) Dragon Quest mobile puzzle-de-pon game *Disappointed* Okay, they have to do a mobile game, not everyone has consoles to play the original games on. They ported the first three games to mobile, and every casual kid loves puzzle games. (2) Dragon Quest X "Endwalker" expansion *Disappointed* STILL not coming to the US, and probably never will. I guess they don't to be like KingsIsle with two MMOs which will be 70/30 with FFXIV. :( (3) Dragon Quest X single-player game w/ Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl chibi-style characters *Sad* With our luck this won't be localized either. (4) Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Another DQ3 remake. I admit it looks cool with the Octopath graphics and Golden Sun style combat, but come on, we have the horse dead and buried, no need to zombify another iteration. I hope they implement the Grand Dragon medal dungeon from the GBC port, I love collecting monster medals. (5) Dragon Quest Treasures IP starring child Erik and Mia. Okay, I can get behind this. A couple of Dragon Quest Monster titles had young Terry and young Keifer. (6) Dragon Quest XII Yeah, I knew this was coming... but the logo looks like Dark Souls sh*t. Overall... 2/10 review. Only two games interested me. and the last reveal was just that DQXII is a thing, they refused to give any information on it. :(

I agree with the Erdrick pandering. Like, I don't want this to become a Generation 1 situation with Pokemon. I get it, a DQ3 remake was highly requested, but at the very least have DQ12 start a new trilogy or be standalone.

Plus, Yuji Horii (sp?) already that DQXII isn't going to have a turn-based battle engine. Squeenix is finally ruining DQ as they have FF with mainstream mechanics for button mashing pricks.

Late to the party here, but it comes across that Square Enix is clueless on appeasing or growing the fan base, especially in regards to those of us that do not live in Japan. For me personally, I find DQB2 much more playable than Minecraft, but if you mention this game to anyone in the US, no one has ever heard of it (outside of KZbin). It's frustrating as a fan because I want this series to take off because Square has the potential of making this an extremely successful IP, and the only ones standing in their way is themselves. I would rather pay for more new DQB2 DLC than a mobile game.

As I told my coworker at work today: "They announced 6 titles (well really 5 and a half) and NONE of them were ANYTHING I was hoping for. No DQB3, no Rocket slime sequel or localization, no dq 4-6 localization, no DQ monsters sequel. NONE OF IT. 6 TITLES. :'(

I played DQB1 on PS4 and currently playing DQB2 on PC and consuming all things BenXC/DQB related. All I'm interested in is DQB3, I have little interest in grindy jrpgs but I love the Builders series. I did my fair share of grindfest jrpgs back in the heydey of the 90's on snes & genesis and pretty much dread grinds in my older age.

I mean, they are probably going to shadowdrop stuff at E3 alongside Final Fantasy Dark Souls edition and FFXVI Trailer #3. There won't be a Dragon Quest Builders 3 until 2024 because people are still playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Dragon Quest XI S. At least they said that a Dragon Quest Monsters game was coming... let's just hope it's not Joker 4 involving magitek armor or I will bonk some heads. X(

Fine, I'll just come out and say it... The next Dragon Quest Builders game is going to be on mobile. You all know that it's true. It's going to be a terrible micro-transaction atrocity. I want a proper third installment just as much as anyone else, but the reality of the situation is that mobile game business model has a better ROI. It's the same with Sengoku Basara and Gundam Breaker. These software companies won't listen to the fan base, the only language they understand is money. Ben, you've got to organize a total boycott of all Square Enix products. Together we are strong ... Viva la resistance!

I disagree, you would never be able to play it on mobile. I mean even the buttons on a console controller are almost not enough to use all the functions of the game. What I could see though is, that the next game will have multiple DLC packs (much more than DQB2).

@@BenXC I completely realize that, but they will figure out a way. They are very creative when it comes to ruining things. It will mean that they remove certain aspects of the game and modify other features. A lot of the games out now are auto-play, where you essentially just manage items and resources. For example you wouldn't event go to the Explorer Shores, you would select a team of 4 of your villagers (which are gacha rolls) to go on a mission and after a certain amount of time they show up with everything they've collected. It won't be the DQB we know and love, but rather some evil abomination. I hope that I'm wrong, but based on trends in the industry, there is a strong probability.
