@SnowBoarder&Skier Lovee my Rav4 Prime. Ride comfort is smooth, quiet cabin no rattles and no range anxiety. To me a PHEV is better than a full EV. Tesla is faster but that's not that important to me. My Prime is fast and can go 600 miles combined, just fill up the tank no need to ug in.

Don't lie to yourself Jim. My 2006 Toyota Matrix has nothing like this at 1/5 the cost. And I can take it to any technician I want, I'm not stuck with a shitty company that delivered a low quality product in the first place. What good is a "car of the future" when it's all about style? I'd rather have a MkIV Supra, it looks amazing AND it's a high quality car with none of the inexcusable problems yours had.

James . . . I took delivery of my Model X Performance on Aug. 5, 2019. I have the same issue with the weather stripping on the front doors. I also have warped trim on the outside of the front passenger door and only one clip holding the inside trim on the left falcon door. Then the radio started changing from XM to FM, and the screen freezes. I made an appointment and when I arrived the service center had no record . . . . fortunately it showed on my phone, but they could not do anything about the issues because the didn’t have any of the parts. I feel your disappointment as I also thought I was buying a well made car. Have another appointment in two weeks to get things taken care of. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is the lack of quality control before the car leaves the factory.

James Klafehn Yes, it is weather stripping that goes on the inside of the door. If you open the door and look on the inside you a see it. Apparently Tesla didn’t enough adhesive to hold it in place. The strip is about 24” long. Mine was that way on both front doors. I used some double stick tape to hold it in place until my service appointment next week. BTY, really enjoy your vlog.

Nathaniel Richardson Nathaniel, No absolutely none of the problems have been fixed. The Dallas Service Center made an appointment for me for November 7, because all of the parts had arrived. I took the car in and was told it would be 2-3 days due to backed up work. The car sat for the next 11 days!! Never heard a word from the service center. I sent an email requesting an update and the service rep. said “we’re still waiting on the parts!!” They told me the parts were there, and now they aren’t. I asked for my car and told them to call me when they had the parr’s in their dirty little hands. I’m so pissed at Tesla right now, I wish I hadn’t bought a second one. I don’t know what’s going on with their service, but it totally sucks. Sorry this turned into an essay!! dkf

For a 100k car you have many issues that are hard to ignore for that price. I guess you might save a little on gas but in the long run it seems like the problems are outweighing the positives. I know right! It was $87,800 but yeah, I agree. The hole was really not ok. I still think Tesla is the future and I like the company. They just need to figure out the service side. I still really like the car but im not in "love" with it like I was before these problems. Still a great car though.

Thankfully their customer service is incredible but you have to be the type of person that's willing to put up with these kinds of issues.

And then be willing to pass that same piece of crap on to the next poor sucker who needs a vehicle. Like they've been doing with Ford, Chev, and Chysler products for years? And who will continue to buy the crap because of WTF? Because it makes them look cool and think they're really, what, in the groove? I appreciate this video. I’ve looked at a huge amount of Tesla videos and the majority don’t really tell the details of the problems. I don’t believe ANY car is perfect or doesn’t have a few issues...cars are man made but I’d still get the Tesla model X. I’ve been researching this car for over 3 years. I’m not ready to buy it yet...but I’m very close I can feel it. I’d be like you where I’m not sure if or when I’d let my husband drive my car...thankfully I convinced him to purchase a model S and pray model 3 for each of our children...but mine comes first. My husband loves to go fast so I’m a bit concerned with him getting a model S but oh well he’s a grown man so he better calm it down because the insurance on these cars are ridiculous. You’d think the rates would be great due to these cars being so safe. Anyway, thanks again for the video...I’m glad your falcon doors weren’t a huge issue after you figured out about the sensors and PRAY they fix everything that you’re having issues without giving you a bunch of hassle like most dealerships.

You shouldn’t be expected to find these issues upon delivery of a new vehicle. The dealership however, is. They , and the factory must be aware of these issues. It sounds like they are dragging their feet with acknowledging them and fixing them. Or turning a blind eye. Hopefully they step up and make it right. You should still document as much as you can on your end for a worst case scenario.

Sorry you have these issues on your brand new X. I was lucky, I got a demo X that had/has no physical issues after delivery and now after a year I still have zero issues (fingers crossed). As I see it, all of your issues are unacceptable and not nick picky and they should make it 100% right. Just FYI, one day ( I think it was after a software update) I had something similar with my easy entry settings and it took a number of tries with arranging everything and then saving (make sure you save your profile) and since then it has worked as expected. But again, it took me a number of times of saving my settings before it worked consistently. Best of luck is getting your X fixed. I'm very happy with mine.

Im the guy whose neighbor has a nonfunctional RAV4 EV in his driveway. I’m really sorry that this crap is happening to you. It’s not as if they are rushing the high end models out. I think that a lot of employees are really unhappy. My service writer told me that she was the only one left out of the people that she used to work with at the offices in the Bay Area. People were offered jobs in Nevada or Utah at $5.00 per hour less, because of the lower cost of living there. So basically you have to move and are still in bad economic shape. The factory is trying to Unionize, but they’ll lose their stock options, but they’ll make enough money to live on. I would hate to have a job where you’d never know when a shoe is going to drop, while you get to read that Elon could become the richest man in the world if lots of extremely hard milestones are met. We don’t make a lot of money and we took a big gamble buying our Model 3. We’ve had it since August of 2018 and so far only very minor issues that a normal person wouldn’t even notice. Your problems are all really bad, except for maybe the windows rattling, unless no one else’s rattle. The seat doesn’t go back into easy entry unless you’ve put it into drive and let it go into your seat position first, then it should go into easy entry when you put it into park. I wish you all the best, I’ve been a subscriber to your channel for a while.

I have had my X since November, 2019 (13,000 miles as of June 24, 2020). I have experienced NONE of the "problems" you describe. In fact, I have had no problems whatsoever. (Well, OK; I had to take it to Tesla to fix the right rear molding over the tire; I hit the side of my garage. Total bill for part and labor: $72.00) I'd buy another in a heartbeat, but I really don't see any "wear and tear" issues causing the need for a replacement vehicle. "Not a picky person"? I disagree.

I’m glad you have had great experience. As for me being picky, yes I expect my $100,000 to not shut down while I’m driving in city traffic, not to vibrate, not to have a hole in it at delivery, and I expect Tesla to know how to tow their own car without damaging it after requiring that I only use their towing service. Oh and then give me a $4000 bill for the damage they caused. Because all that and much more happened.

1:50 Tesla are right - this rattle (when window is fully down) is, unfortunately, normal in cars with frameless doors. Teslas, Subarus, and even Mercedes all do it in my experience.

Was a huge fan of the X until I rented one for a weekend on Turo. The P100D I had was probably a 140k car. It's just not worth that in terms of build quality. Maybe half. It's clear that in order to put all of the bells and whistles EM wanted (falcon wing doors, autopilot, etc.) in the cars that major corners needed to be cut.(This doesn't include the fact that my road trip of 150 mi drained 225 miles of battery range. Barely made it home.)

The chair problem .... they will not be able to fix. Is clearly software. I have that too now and then especially when changing drivers/profiles. The software is full of problems. Tesla focusses on adding stuf like new farts rather than fixing the basics. And they are probably right. Why fix your issues when you keep repeating you would never sell the car. I am happy with my MS, not happy with Tesla priorities. In the end I will sell my Tesla, if I dare.

You’ll love it. But definitely stay on them about things you notice pre delivery. After that fact can be a gerbil wheel process, 3 Tesla owner here. I am awaiting my Registration docs now going on 24 days and tempo plate expiring soon, You have to stay on Tesla ...squeaky wheel gets the grease, so true!

I am a Jeep Wrangler jk owner considering getting a model 3/s. i really want to go electric ⚡️however where i live in the metro Atlanta area has absolutely no supercharger or destination chargers within a reasonable distance. I also don’t know if i could go from the wrangler which i love to a model 3.

It is valid criticism, if you do pay as much for a high end car, you shouldnt have to deal with these problems. On a cheap or used car, it would be picky but not on one thats 97000.
