That's disappointing. I don't understand why they couldn't have made the Cooperative gameplay part of the single player campaign. Imagine, running around, exploring the world with 3 of your buddies. Tackling the campaign quests together. Building a stronghold from a bare patch of earth into a castle fortress that will work as your hub, where you and your friends go to upgrade the keep, store items you've either found or purchased at market districts, make potions, inbune weapons ect. Possibly even have random bandit attacks on your keep. Maybe even a Dragon. So you pay guards to keep it safe while you and your friends are out question, sharing loot and crafting special weapons for one another. You and your friends level up at a similar rate. The more players you have the more difficult the enemies become (Health, Damage ect) Allow at any point in time for a player to initiate a duel so long as the other player accepts it. That would have been so much more involved and exciting.

@boboverlord18 why would anyone want to play the multiplayer like this? It would so much more fun to run around in an open world and have your own custom character gathering resources and grinding with friends. This way it would be more interesting than loading into a mission.

I like the idea of playing with one other person, not really with a group of randoms unless i'm in a guild in an MMO or whatever. It's too bad they don't offer co-op through the regular story driven game since you can have companions. I wouldn't mind the person who's game I joined to be the leader who's story I follow and help.

I'm about to ask a really dumb question. I've never been one to play multiplayer. I prefer soloing it or connecting another controller and playing co-op with my friend that way. Will DA:I allow that or is it just strictly online?

I hated how Mitch said that there are 4 classes. He goes, "you have your Mage, your Rogue, your Warrior and your Archer". What!? There are 3 classes: Mage, Rogue and Warrior. An archer, in Dragon Age Inquisition, is part of the Rogue class. I always have to scratch my head when IGN misquote and misinterpret information. I don't know if they don't listen properly, or if they're just dumb and stupid.

At the character creation in Dragon Age Inquisition you pick from a rogue archer or a rogue with daggers as if they are separate classes.

TenketsuKuroryu No, because Weapon & Shield, Archer, Two Handed and Dual Wielding are fighting styles within 2 classes. Weapon & Shield and Two Handed are within the Warrior class, and Archer and Dual Wielding are within the Rogue class. Don't forget the Mage class, of course. :)

Adaar Inquisitor exactly. They do fall under the category. But by the way it sounds like Mitch described them it seems like he thinks each choice is a separate class.

TenketsuKuroryu Not quite. For example, if you choose the Rogue class and choose to be an Archer. You'll still get the all the other Rogue abilities and specializations, such as Stealth and Subterfuge. The only difference is choosing between Archer and Dual Wielding, is giving you a different perspective of combat.

To everyone who isn't pleased about the game getting a multiplayer, I have this absolutely amazing idea. It's practically revolutionary. You sure you're ready for this? Okay here it is: Don't play it. Boom! Your mind is blown. Complaining about something that is completely optional is ridiculous. It's your right to complain, but it's just as much my right to tell you you're being stupid for complaining about it. It kinda reminds me of that whole dumbass uproar about Mass Effect 3's "Tell me a story" difficulty. A lot of people complained about that and completely missed the point that it has no effect on their game whatsoever if they don't, you know, use it.

If DAI is 50% as good as ME3 MP .. game is going to be even more then awesome with unlimited replay-ability. I have more then 1300 hours on ME3 MP . Unforgettable experience.

You get 3 classes at start. You unlock the rest of the classes by creating the class armor or getting the armor from a drop. At the moment only way to use the gold from looting is buying chests that have random items/potions.

Imo, they should use the multiplayer items you earn and say, rate how much that Item is worth, give it a money value that at the end of the level it sends that money over to your single player world to give you at least some benefit to playing multiplayer at least.

I'll be honest, I'm super excited for this game, but the Co-op doesn't sound very fun. I thought that it might be some way for four people to bring their individual inquisitors together and kill bad guys and explore certain areas of the world, but it just sounds like a linear, clear a room, grab loot, move on type thing. Doesn't help that the guy wasn't that knowledgeable on the subject. I'm hoping Bioware will release a more in-depth video that actually explains it a little. This is kinda a let down for me.

Part of the information was incorrect in this video, when he said if you get a weapon for another class you have to make a new character to use it. You can actually salvage the parts from those weapons to use for your own weapons, such as if the staff had shock damage, you could use parts from it to give say a bow shock damage.

ohhhh too bad, you guys didn´t realized this game needs more a CO- OP than a Multiplayer option. as the matter fact, it takes more time, but also becomes way waaaayy funnier to have real players to play with in the campaign. having a multiplayer like mass effect did, only makes the game more divided, cos theAI gets very "stupid" no offense, when they have to attack, they just react as a BOT to any aggression to the team and that´s it. but players can handle any kind of situation as a 1v1 and no having everyone attacking the same target if not neccessary, like Diablo 3 CO-OP. You guys really neeed to understand that the CO-OP is one of the greatest updates every game should have, and makes a game a lot more fun to play. the more the real players, the more the difficulty it sould be, but still, coop should be added to this game.

HEY! It's /Warrior/, /Mage/ and /Rogue/ only! Archers can stem from Rogues or Warriors(unless they brought the system from Dragon Age II over, then only Rogues can use ranged weapons). Which looking at things, that is not the case.

They already showed tons of gameplay footage of the engine and the combat running beautifully through I knew that this delay was just to add content. It is not like the SWTOR delays where they were hiding the fact that the game was a pile of s*** from us.

Sorry Bioware the ME3 multiplayer at least made some sense (though the in game economy was so unbalanced and Pay to win it was fuckin ridiculous) as it was an action game and you could spec your characters for YOUR needs. Dragon Age however is going to be all about arguing over who's gonna get the shaft and have to play a tank whilst everyone goes for DPS builds and bitches at each other, when they all die do to really low health. And that's IF you can get the players to cooperate enough to even have at least 2 players with mics. Trying to get the DA combat styles to work in Multiplayer is going to be like having a Dragon Age: Inquisition video without a Douchebag in it whom makes me regret buying the Witcher 2, and less likely to buy 3. Next to impossible.

"Diablo Loot System" except mobs dont drop gold or items. you get about 500 gold per run and need 1200 to buy a good chest. 1 in every 10 chests have 1 item that is worse than the starting items that you FOR SOME REASON cant ever scrap so they take up space and piss you off

So no official confirmation from BioWare that this thing doesn't mess with SP experience. As long as I'm not certain that co-op won't screw with my SP game (like in ME3) I cba about it. If it's absolutely optional and I hear this from BioWare I'll give it a shot after I finish the story. They force this on me and I cancel my preorder.

I am a bit disappointed in this. I was REALLY hoping for a mp that was interwoven into the core game, something like Dark Souls style or even full co op a la Baldur's Gate. Where up to 3 friends could drop in/out and play as one of your party members (Obviously the host would be the one making the dialogue choices and things) but apart from that , the exploring , the loot, the combat, all of that could have been easily done with co op and a lot more "fun" to me then a tacked on "dungeon crawl" diablo loot grind game that seems like it's a separate game tacked onto this. I don't play the DA games for "dungeon crawling" or loot grinds, I play them for hte story, exploration, and characters, which a co op or dark souls style would have enhanced and added to and been 100x more interesting to me.

YES YES YES! ME3 multiplayer was one of my favorite games of all time and this looking really good. I just hope they dont do the whole "items come from random packs" bullshit.. i spent hours upon hours farming currency just to buy 10 packs and not get that one item that i wanted.. Lets hope theres a better system, and please make it important to the storyline like ME3 was :D it felt more immersive that way

Diablo is not really squad based combat. Nothing is really gained or lost by playing with other people. DA is more strategic at heart. I personally always thought it was crazy the first two weren't co op.

So how does DA:I multiplayer work? Do you single player max level your character.. Then join your friends for max level instances or raids, kind of like an MMO? Or is there multiplayer dungeons throughout the game that you can choose to explore for extra loot? Or is it just another random mode that you can play, but don't have to.. That has nothing to do with the main story? I'm kinda wondering how this will work out, actually... ;)

I'm going to be a bit disappointed if this somehow actually has an affect on the game in single player. I mean, ME3 had an alright horde mode co-op, but the fact that you needed to originally do it to get the 'best' ending was bullshit. I think they eventually changed it, and really, none of the ME3 endings actually mattered, because they all were just awful, but if that sort of thing happens in Inquisition, it's going to be a bummer. If it's a completely separate thing, cool, great, awesome, I don't really feel like it's necessary, and those recourses probably would have been put to better use improving the single player, but hey, they're the developers, not me.

I've played more than 200 hours on ME3MP and was far from unlocking everything. The depth in that game is insane. From building more synergetic kits through experimentation to unlocking new gear ranks and challenges you can sink your life in this game. figuring out the numbers and sharing knowledge on forums alone took me almost as much time. Better MP I've every played.

I would of appreciated it if it was less linear. The multiplayer looks fun but you will be going through the areas. (I love diablo) but if there isnt difficulties that you cant do without the right gear its just a waste if time.

So excited for this as a huge fan of ME3's excellent class based tactical team co-op. Only hope that this thing with certain classes needed to progress certain types of areas should b confined to treasures and loot only and not have to force a team to pick different classes everytime for progressing a level sake. I mean, if I wan my buddies to roll with me a devastating multi breed of different Warriors, I should b able to with only penanly of some treasures missed. Other than that, I'm hearing fantastic things bout this multiplayer so far. ME3 co-op was some of the best multiplayer experiences I've had on PS3. Been playing dat bad boy since the ole Beta days,lol :P
