The squid rolls remind me of the rails in the story mode. When you would jump off the rail in the story mode and octo expansion, you would do a slight roll. If you jumped then used your weapon, it would look like the blaster shot that was in the trailer. I wonder if that's where it's from.

If a guy grows their hair out he is not suddenly a girl... Plus, aside from eyebrows there is also body type and victory animations are suited to whatever gender preforms them (and are designed for that)

I think the people are overreacting about them “removing gender” (not that’s it’s bad they did it) I think all they did was change it from pick boy/girl to pick your “style” and made it to where all customization items are available for all styles. I assume we will still have woomy, ngyes, veemo and stuff, they didn’t really do to much to the gender selection.

0:48 the animation might just be basic and not separated for species hard to tell this early. 2:30 yea the bow can be shot at different angles it might even be diagonal at jumps but it can definitely be horizontal which is really cool. You can also see at 2:48 it shoots diagonally midway through a descent. That stage layout thing toward the end is amazing!

*little notes while i was watching:* -i still love the slosher CHUCKING their weapon at their spawn and catching it again. -And it makes sense that the bow is sort of a combination of a charger and a roller! -With those lasers, maybe they’re the same as the Sting Ray that we have in Splat2, but maybe a bit weaker? or with automatic tracking? -And maybe there isn’t any timers with the any of the specials anymore! - And a bit curious to know if we’ll have to choose between the two new ink movements (which my dumbass has forgotten the names of;;) -Holy shit, big props to you and your sister with making the mock/guess map! There’s also a pretty good chance that when the test fire releases, the map shown in this first trailer will be the map we first get to play on. There is actually a little difference on the icon for when the octolings choose where to go at the beginning. The squid one has all of its lines straight and the octopus one has the two lines on the side are a little more curved.

i think there's a reason the normal spawn points are there at all. since they're tarped over in the team's ink color, there's probably some sort of way you can unlock them after landing, which might be why they cut the launching animations right before the team hits the stage.

The new bow weapon working like a roller theory might actually be correct, because if you look at 2:25 *of the original trailer*, you can see the bow-wielding Woomy change the position of the bow from horizontal to vertical upon jumping.

The special with the laser is probably a amalgamation of the Killer Wail and the Sting Ray, by looking at the things at the end of those rays, those things look like speakers like what the Killer Wail has, and considering the proprieties of the Sting Ray, we can safely assume that. Since there's multiple of those "lasers", we can also assume that you can use that special to wear down multiple enemies in different areas, or kill one by focusing all rays to one. Question is, how does its targeting work?

If you watch the trailer, you can see a yellow squid doing a twisting thing in the air. I didn’t play splatoon 1, but I’ve seen videos about the kraken special. In one of Vian’s videos, he jumped forward as the kraken, but while he was in the air, he was twisting just like the squid in the trailer!
