Personally, the de-aging effects are really convincing and impressive to me. I remember one time I was rewatching GotG Vol. 2 and I was at the beginning scene with Ego and Meredith in the car. My dad took notice and exclaimed “That looks like Kurt Russell!” He was really surprised at just how realistic it was. No uncanny valley or anything

I think the car is already in drive, as it was being driven earlier and that was why Scott had trouble stopping it. The car being in drive would allow the wheels to spin when pushed and the car would be easier to turn as well.
