Coco is a very good movie. We enjoyed it immensely. We still felt obligated by reputation (and that contract with Satan) to go looking for sins in Coco. And we found a few.
Next week: Mystery sins & Horror sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

Chorizo is more like sausage filling but with no casing. In order for most sausages to maintain that dick shape is because of the casing. If you take it off the sause will bassically become ground sausage. Thats essentially chorizo, plus it has so much oils and grease i doubt it would hold up anyways. And yes i know you can buy chorizo in a casing but anyone whose actually tried cooking it in the casing knows it shrinks and falls off and your chorizo loses that desired dick shape.

Just to clarify some things 1.-The altares and ofrendas are supossed to look that way, maybe a little less cempasuchil flower but the food are for the dead not for us, the fire hazard in the movie has no excuse because we use veladoras(basically a candle in a glass) to prevent that, not just candles 2.- The bullying and teasing at Hector is quite normal, Dia de muertos is know for making fun of death, the best example for this are the "calaveritas" (little poems where a dead person challenge, mocks or trick the death) 3.-Hector couldn't tell Imelda the truth about his death because he didn't knew it until Miguel relates the story of the poison Srry for the grammar

Or maybe they go from skeleton world to soul world. They are spirits, but they look like skeletons because they are still linked to their remainings in the living world. When they are forgotten, their link with physical world is broken, so they dont look like skeletons anymore , and become golden dust souls.

The movie never says that who remembers you has to be a blood relative. One of the gags is that a skeleton with braces is on his dentist's ofrenda. And as far as Ernesto knew, he had no family to remember him, but his fans remembered him and that kept him in the land of the dead. So, while I deeply sympathize with your not wanting kids, you should be fine without them, by this movie's logic

"Sins" that are actually explained in the movie: #22 Miguels family is shown searching for him in the cemetery #23 Ernesto hands off the guitar before he's crushed by the bell #39 Dante is a Xoloitzcuintli dog which are traditionally believed to be guides for spirits in the afterlife, something that's commented on by multiple characters, that's why he guides Miguel through the plot, especially the points involving Hector. Miguel was searching for his ancestor and Dante is aware that Hector is who he is really looking for, not Ernesto, something that's also blatantly stated later in the film. #50 Hector immediately explains that no one knows what happens after the final death. The point that death is a mystery, even in a movie about the afterlife. #63 Hector got the dresses from a costume designer who was tasked with making multiple identical copies of that same costume for a performance. Earlier she admonishes him for losing the one he was wearing while trying to sneak into the land of the living. #68 Yeah? He's spent most of the movie slowly transitioning into a skeleton which would be dying #72 they still have to get Hector's picture back from Ernesto #74 see #39 #76 Hector didn't know he was murdered until like 10 minutes ago, so what would he have to explain to Imelda and why would she have reason to forgive him? Both of them still thought about him as just a guy who abandoned his family until that bit about being murdered on his way home changed both their views about him. #77 that's the whole point the damn movie has been making #85 Miguel's parents obviously chase him home since they show up like half a minute later in the film. His mom is pregnant, she can't sprint like a 12 year old can.

The chorizo part was a joke, because in Mexico it's often compared to a dick. So it's a dirty joke the creators put in to allude to that. Those musicians knew he didn't actually choke to death, but it's a funny concept to them. Hector replaced whatever word was originally in the song (maybe chi-chi's) and used knuckles instead, because Miguel was in the room. Do you believe that my father had a friend, and only years later he discovered that they were cousins (and that, therefore, he and I had other cousins)? They're rare coincidences (I've heard several), of course, but they can happen 👍 I think that this always depends on destiny, and in the case of the movie, destiny plays an important role, so I'm not surprised in the end (even though it's always a coincidence and although in any case everything ended well from a tragedy, fortunately) 😉👍

3 things that bothered me. 1. If you paid attention at the beginning, you'd notice Ernésto handed his guitar to a staff member back stage. Hence how the guitar never got damaged in the first place. 2. Everything is skull shaped because it's an important part to the holiday in the first place. Calaveras are a popular and easy decoration to make for Día de los Muertos in Mexico. The term is mostly used for sugar skulls but can be used for other material used. 3. No one knows what happens when the final death occurs. Even Héctor confirmed it. It's supposed to be a symbol of when we truly die. When no one remembers you anymore, you fade away like a memory. It's just like how the memories that were discarded in Inside Out faded as did Bing Bong. When you're forgotten, that's when you truly die.

Death is shocking, to a lot of ghosts or souls after death their memories are jumbled up in fiction. This is why a lot of old revenant ghost stories have them not remember the reason they are haunting a place in the first place, holding just the feelings. This movie made me ugly cry about three or four times. Silent tears streaming down my face when Coco started singing at the end, and the flashback when her father sang it to her before he left. This film and The Book of Life (while still being comical films, the underlying tones of conflicting aspects of traditional family and finding your own path are especially effective in making me sweat through my eyes) managed to do that to me. We use many candles on dia de muertos because tradition says that the candle is the light of the dead on its return to the other world. Also we put a lot of cempoalxóchitl petals (the orange petals in the ground) because they guide our ancestors so they can find our home and their altars. Each thing that you see have a meaning in our tradition, you may think its exageration but every detail counts.

Also, older traditional Mexican families, like my own, tend to have younger grandparents. For the sake of an example: Parent has first kid by 20 (sometimes younger), kid has kid at 21, so parent becomes grandparent at 41 or 42. That was the norm in Mexico at the time Imelda was alive.

Brent Dreher I lost faith in their outtakes when they didn't splice in Ariel's singing for the golden egg song in HP4 Goblet of Fire.

How could you not put the “I’d kidnap a thousand children before i let this company die” line as one of the outtakes?

10:06 he didn't get the costume back from security, he got a new one from the seamstress lady. She had tons of those costumes to dress the dancers for that opening act

You know Cinemasins likes a movie when it’s under 100 sins

You know CinemaSins likes a movie when he intentionally misses things? Try finding that comment, and if you watched the movie (though as for me, I used illegal means), I'd think you'd agree. It starts with " "Sins" that are actually explained in the movie ". Please don't watch this clickbait extraordinaire ever again. For your sake.

I find the amount of how long the video is also is a good indicator on how much they like it. Transformers 4: Oh-so many minutes Coco: 14 minutes Brave: 13 minutes Zootopia: 9 minutes

It's not his cause of death that he meant. He meant "why didn't Hector tell Imelda that he died on his way back home so she wouldn't think that he has forgotten his family?"

Alex Winchester I've always wondered who told the story if they were both dead. Ernesto wouldn't have admitted to killing him even if he was alive, so how did the makers of their movie know that Ernesto poisoned him?
@oblivionwriter
@oblivionwriter 6 жыл бұрын
abigail Williams I'm guessing that Ernesto did the scripting for the movies he was in so it makes sense he would want himself to be seen as the good guy.

oblivionwriter But why would he tell them the part about him poisoning the granddad if he wanted everyone to think he was good?
@oblivionwriter
@oblivionwriter 6 жыл бұрын
abigail Williams he didn't though. In the movie he was the one that was intended to be poisoned by his partner. When he was found out he tried to get rid of the ones accusing him.
