9:33 - That bugged me too, but he explicitly mentions "scar tissue" and "lesions." From his perspective, he's just seeing the signs of _previous_ trauma, not open wounds, broken bones, etc. The idea being that she bears the scars of her previous deaths, but it's not as though she's constantly bleeding internally or something like that. So when he said "You should be dead" he likely meant it in the context of "You should not have been able to survive whatever caused the scar tissue and lesions to form in the first place." 10:49 - Yeah, that was one little detail I wish the filmmakers had accounted for considering all the nice little pieces of attention to detail they paid in the movie. 10:54 - No, that's a completely different candle from the one that was on the cupcake, that one was solid red, this one is blue and white to keep the audience from suspecting her roommate. 12:36 - She mentions at the end that Lori resorted to stabby-stabby psycho shenanigans because Tree didn't eat the cupcake. But she *also* gained the opportunity to kill Tree while being able to pin it on Tombs, she doesn't go after Tree in the instance where Tree kills Tombs because the scapegoat she wanted to use is f*cking dead. Thus, Lori likely would've resorted to another attempt at a less confrontational means of murdering her later. Keep in mind that, from what can be seen in the movie, Lori *never* tries to kill her until _after_ 9:23 P.M. when the blackout hits. With that same blackout being the moment when Tree got the upper hand on Tombs.

That escaped, killed the security guard, then killed everyone he saw on his way out? She escapes from him, and runs into Lori, who was driving in the opposite direction of the street. She killed the cop and set the car on fire. My theory is that Lori put some kind of tracker app on her phone, to be able to find her wherever she goes. Only in one timeline, did she ditch the phone early on.

@tjnolen16 жыл бұрын
크리스탈 I would actually be perfectly okay with this explanation, if it wasn't for the shoes. The killer that kills Gregory is wearing the same shoes as the killer that blows up the cop car later. Also, in the clock tower scene, Toombs is wearing the exact same shoes as the cop car explosion scene. It's possible that Lori put the same shoes on Toombs, but I doubt it. It was just the movie trying to trick the viewer into thinking that Toombs was really the killer. So... *ding*

Interesting note and I know I’m way late on this, but nursing students NEVER “pull double shifts”. You’re there as long as your professor or preceptor are there and then you leave. You can’t work on your own and so you don’t stay later than the person responsible for you. Never. Also, totally hear you on nurses being around at 9:30pm, but 9 is generally the time nurses do all their shit on general medicine floors than aren’t the ICU and she wasn’t in the ICU. Nurses do their once over of patients at 8, 12, and 4 and except when a medication is due, they try to let them get their sleep. That said, the hospital is super empty at 9:30, and only a super human nurse on a med-surg floor, which is where she is, would be able to get 9pm meds to all their patients before 9:30. So fine. Take the sin.

One thing you forgot to mention, when Tree has her Holmesian reveal, she's doing a ton of expositing to Lori who, other than intending to poison her with the cupcake, hadn't even considered any further action yet because she had put all of her cupcakes in one basket at that point. It wasn't until Tree refused to eat the cupcake that all of those other death plans got worked out and implemented. So, basically, Lori would have absolutely zero clue about roughly 99% of what Tree was explaining to her.

On the day where Tree confides in Carter, one of the first things she does is smash her ringing phone in Carter’s dorm room in a fit of panic and terror. You can even hear the sound of it smash into what sounds like thousands of pieces. When he finds her wandering around outside, he returns her top, bracelet and shoes, but not the phone (as it was obviously destroyed). Yet a few minutes later as the two sit in the cafeteria, her phone begins to ring on the table as though it has the ability to respawn too.
@LnPPersonified6 жыл бұрын
I actually really liked this movie. It had its cliches, but the main character was smarter than she appeared and had a decent character arc. I thought the fake-out with the serial killer was clever, and it had a satisfying payoff. I also liked Carter's trick at the end, though it would have been a better ending if catching the real killer didn't fix the time loop, and she was stuck in it forever anyway because the two are unrelated. It would have been a proper horror movie ending, but I like the happy ending anyway.

Pokerface It's a horror comedy film, so that type of ending wouldn't work out for fans. The test screenings included an ending in which Gregory's wife ended up killing Tree after she (Tree) needed to go to the hospital after she (Tree) killed Lori. Audiences were not pleased. I think it's mostly because people got around to really liking and feeling sorry for Tree, which makes sense.
