I think buying a mic would up the quality a lot especially in the intro where you are far away. Does not have to be a crazy expensive one a lot of people just use apple headphones

Yeah I’ll pick up a mic soon, that wind was hard to deal with.

Hood strut is $15 on ecs, if you want to wrap yourself it’s like 5-600 in vinyl, but fix the rust first. Clogged cats will blow the motor so please get them gutted/put test pipes on. You got yourself a real piece of work though

I’m working on sanding the rust down and paint touch up right now. But definitely will do a wrap later on, it looks super rough. And thanks for the tip on the cats I never thought about hollowing them out, ima look into that.

You mentioned grinding on cold starts. While the starter may be bad, the grinding you are hearing is the timing chain. This is most likely why whoever owned the car before you bought it, sold it. The timing chain replacement is very expensive. That grinding is the timing chain and chain tensioners most likely being worn. I believe they fixed these issues on the b8.5 but the b8 definitely have these issues.

From what I’ve heard Audi made a statement that’s it’s normal 30 seconds after starting
@BOSSMARTIN10 ай бұрын
I don’t believe it’s the time chain, it definitely is time to get it replaced, but the grinding noise is quick, and sounds like a starter gear failing to pull out. I have no other related timing chain issues the car runs pretty smooth.

@@BOSSMARTIN could be starter but it could be you're vvt like on honda accords but it could also be normal due to all the oil draining down and starting the car your cam sprockets rattle for 1 or 2 seconds until they get oil which is normal and many cars do it. I would be on the safe side and open your timing cover and look at timing chains to be sure its all good.

@@husseinhussein5565I’ll see if I can even access it, Audi has a thing for putting parts that fail quickly in hard to reach places😭

Yeah definitely timing chain tensioner 😭

I had Audi A4 1.8 TFSI from 2010 and it had more then 200k miles and was in 10x better condition in terms of visuals, previeus owners wear some barbarian ;/ yeah that grinding is probably timing chain tensioner, i have A7 with 3.0 TFSI and i have the same noise at startup but i'm not worried becouse it is only at cold startup. I hope you got good price on that car becouse the condition is realy awful in terms of visuals.

Most or all of the damage to my car was done at the Copart auction lot😭 it’s been through a lot. This link right here has a clear sound of how it sounds on a cold start kzbin.infoNOWm_FgVViI?si=0YbklxfHZaVCR193
