I usually agree with Cinemasins but I thoroughly enjoyed the card scene. No one is thinking that it's real or possible, it's just entertaining to watch..... like how Wanted had the bullet curving.... we knew it was stupid but it was a fun idea.
@russellvitranoiii35042 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Fascinating concept even though it was contrived and some parts of it largely unnecessary.
So I don't know you but I wish I could be in your head to understand where the line is between knowing it's stupid and fun at the same time. Because for me it was neither. Like how passing around the card in the air 20 feet across from each other (multiple times) for no reason dramatically increases the failure of the heist every time they do it. You could just keep the card yourself and only have to worry about the one guy patting you down, instead passing it to people already being patting down. And yah just like CinemaSins pointed, the card throws themselves are just not possible. It just makes everyone look stupid, including the audience. And that was just one example in a seemingly endless pile of ... well yah

Shobu25 But another issue is that I never read a comic book in my life so it doesn't matter. I just thought it was more of the same. They use the same ingredients. The same story-telling, the same one-liners, the same of everything. I just think Marvel should mix it up and make a serious or drama movie. I think we've had enough of the same action with the same kind of humour. It's time to add some spice into the recipe. I would love to see an actual serious-toned Thor movie. His planet is about to blow up and he doesn't show any kind of emotion. The writers just put a one liner in there and hope it'll become a good enough scene to satisfy the nerds.

I DEMAND A SIN RETRACTION!!!! You say that it was too cliche to introduce the hypnotist's twin brother in the second movie because he was not mentioned in the prior movie. However, we did know that his twin would be introduced as a villain in the sequel because in the interrogation scene from the first film his file, as read by the FBI, reports that he used to travel and do shows with his twin brother until that same twin left him and took all of his money. Thus, leaving him bankrupt and without all of his popularity as a magician. A.k.a.: a villain being evil!

@Jirodyne8 жыл бұрын
It is indeed impossible. Not just because of the Physics, but because you have TWO people looking towards the people on the other side of the Metal Detector, and only ONE of them might have been looking up and not paying attention. The other guy was very much paying attention to make sure nothing was going on, he would have SAW the card in the corner of his eye. It would be impossible for him to not notice it, unless it was CGI into the scene later.

I wanted to like this movie, I really did. But it lost points in my book as soon as Lula showed up. Oh look, an "adorkable" and "quirky" love interest who probably doesn't have a personality outside of her complete butchering of social skills. It was good going for me up until they ended up in China, then the BS just kept piling on. The tension also fell flat about then, because I knew that some random "magical" event would save the protagonists at the last second (Meta thinking sometimes sucks the fun out of movies for me... Damn you CinemaSins!). It was somewhat fun near the end, but then the movie outstayed it's welcome at about the point Jeremy begged the movie to end. Wish I could get my money back.

You missed: 1. The fact that in the scene where they get searched, most of their slight-of-hand would be impossible because the chip is supposedly hard plastic/metal 2. When they took the first tube to the right, and got hypnotized, and went to China, wouldn't they have rehearsed going to the second tube? Maybe Maybury could place a second tube, but its not like the truck would move to that tube like it does in the scene where Merrit's brother explains how he did it. 3. When the guy who turns the show around at the Octa stage is exposing the horsemen, he says Jack Wilder is still alive, and rather than continuing to run, which would make him look like just a security guard scrambling to respond, he decides to stop, and look at the light long enough news people can take his photo.

I like this movie a lot, I think its better than the original. The one thing i didnt like quite as much is that it took these characters who seemed to always be 2 steps ahead and made them constantly flying by the seat of their pants. Often it seems they COULD have planned something out (metal detector) but just like...didnt. or got lucky. Also im not a big fan of retcons and this has a few. I did think they did a great job with Lula. being a replacement isnt easy and i certainly tried to hate her, but i couldnt. Also, also it does have a little "thats actually impossible and they never explain how they did it" but less ridiculous then the original (Looking at you bubble floating scene) Good movie 8/10

That's what life's about. When you try to discount proper criticism that becomes censorship. Then nothing anyone does matters. Criticism is how entertainment evolves. Garbage comment, 1/10.
