ALL the leftovers, in a time without refrigeration to preserve them. On top of that, according to an earlier rule, there are times they've been told to eat everything before sundown on the day of the sacrifice. I hope there were a lot of hungry Levites on those days. Also, it has occured to me that this choice assignment sure favored the Levites. But then again, who was it that wrote this section of the OT? Oh, yeah, it was the Levite priests. 1. Missed this earlier today. OOOOOOPS. 2. If I were Aaron's sons, I'd be like, "Hey, bro, I dare you, one step closer to the altar. Let's see if Sky Daddy fries us up." XD 3. By the way, eh, you know that's why the book of laws is called "Levi-ticus", right? They're traditionally in charge of upholding the Law. I saw this cool video a few days ago about "Where Did the Twelve Tribes of Israel Go?", and historically speaking, they were slowly subsumed within other empires when the kingdoms of Judah and Israel were conquered, but there are a LOT of different people groups around the world who claim descent from the original Twelve Tribes. Some ignoramuses who got to North America and met the Indigenous people here thought that they could even ben missing descendants, I think of the Tribe of Dan...? So far as I'm aware, though, the First Peoples never claimed that for themselves, though: that was a colonial thing. I think that vid was done by a channel called "Patheos", if anyone's interested. Talks about the whole Mormon interpretation of events, too, which is just...weird, quite frankly. 4. You know, i would have been thousands of years after this was set, but one of the reasons why I like Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), even though I'm not a Muslim, is that he said that every woman is equal to every man, and he outlawed female infanticide in the Ummah (Islamic religious community). Killing baby girls was REALLY common at that time and in that part of the world, because, in pre-Islamic Arabia, a lot of wealth accumulation was based not just on trade, but on theft, and women and girls were seen not only as property to be stolen, but also, therefore, as liabilities, so it wasn't uncommon, if a girl was born, for her caravan to bury her in the sand and just keep going. This whole thing with, "Oh, and the chicks can eat the gristle when the guys are done with the beef" is REALLY nasty. And I bring Islam up because, hey, their Prophet did BETTER THAN THIS. "Every woman is equal to very man" was quite the statement for the time. Hell, regretfully, it's even quite the statement now, in some circles. You should hear the Transformed Wife talk about women. I feel bad hating her--she's old and she's ill--but I DO hate her. Sigh... 5. Like, at least the Vedic Hindu way of doing things made sense. Same time period, which is my reason for the comparison. But they would bring, like, a spoonful of rice for the G/god, burn that in the sacrificial ire, and then everyone would eat everything else brought. They had this crazy drink called soma (if you've read "Brave New World", this is where the name of the drug comes rom) that would make people high as a f*cking kite, and they'd offer that drink, too, but there were entire hymns in the Rig Veda written in honour of soma's effects. So, a LITTLE BIT to the G/gods, the rest to the people at large. Note that this was before the caste system was a thing in Hinduism, we're talking, like, 1700-1500BCE. 6. Aaron's getting nothing for Christmas, uh-oh. Did he f*ck up at some point that I haven't kept track of? 7. So God gets 11%, actually. A tithe is traditionally 10%, right, and if God's asking for 10% of that 10%, that's an additional 1%, so it's 11%. Look, teacher, I can math! Actually, I'm sh*t at math, but I had bad teachers, unfortunately.
@laurajarrell61872 жыл бұрын
Active Advocate, I'm sorry sweetie, but you're terribly misinformed about Mohammed and Islam. The only reason he didn't want female babies killed was for more wives and concubines for his men. He said women's brains were much smaller than men's and that most would go to hell. He also, though when he was young he married an older, wealthy widow. Granted, he was a bit gentler when in Medina, as he built his following, but much stricter and viscous after his move to Mecca. He copied most of the Jewish and Christian laws but made them even more harsh. He was a warlord merchant who had 67 successful campaigns, taking slaves, and converting or killing most. And he considered women property as the others did, but property hidden from other men. He also was a pedophile. Just look into it more critically, not with someone trying to convert you. The qur'an is bad, but the habits make it much worse, as later proclamations abrogate the earlier ones. Check out Apostate Prophet, his older videos tell a lot. Though I'd known of all the horrors of it from many others, like Sarah Hader from North American Ex Muslims🥰✌

Not Moses. That’s unusual.” Wow Hemant, ‘newsflash’, what do you mean ‘finally’, God has already spoken to Aaron many times before, or have you forgotten those parts as you’ve forgotten other parts of the Bible? “If you know what I mean.” No I don’t know what you mean, where do you find “if the Levites screw up, that whole sanctuary will be filled with blood,”? “There has never been a better time to be an atheist.” There has never been any good time to be an atheist; what’s the use or good of atheism there anyway? “If strangers visit the sanctuary unannounced, they’ll be meet with guillotines or something.” So? Announce yourself, purify yourself, bring the correct offering, there you go. Interesting Hemant, “Once again, God’s letting the priests know that after the sad and poor hand over a large portion of what little they have, don’t worry because you’ll get your share.” “Technically, God never said a tenth.” Wow Hemant 😳, so according to you, all I have to do is be happy and rich 🤑, and ‘technically’ I’m allowed to give any portion of my money 💵 to whichever religious organization I want, just as you and others are allowed to give any portion of your money 💵 to whichever atheist or other organization you want without any problem. Interesting thought Hemant, I’ll think about the sense of your ‘no sense’ when I’m giving money to my teachers out of my own self will, despite they’ve done none of the work in producing it. Interesting thought 💭, if there was a church back then. I thought you said “life is precious.”? Aaron does get something or better said, someone permanent. Ah yes, I forgot, atheist “So if they don’t give God the best of whatever they have, they’ll be shot.” “The only people who benefit are God people. God’s highest-ranking people. But not you. You’re not special.” Thanks for expressing another lie so many other religions express, and explaining why I need worry about what I give to God. “God will always find a way to remind people how they can give Him prezzies.” Ok, so what? Can’t I give Him a ‘prezzie’?

You call yourself "friendly Atheist" You really aren't that evil as some Atheists, like AmazingAtheist and Coughlan and some Atheists, I met personally. But really friendly you aren't either. Maybe you should call yourself "LesserEvilAtheist" or "SomewhereBetweenAtheist"

Dude, they are just three different branches of the same lie. The main three Abrahamic religions rely on the same fake con about the same god only written by different scribes at different times to suit their own ethnic audience in their own languages accordingly.
