Just imagine the horror and grief that all the Midianite woman who have just seen their husbands slaughtered and the boys who have just seen their fathers slaughtered by the Israelites would have had to endure but at least they have been spared and allowed to live so that was a mercy and a relief. So these mothers and children now believe they have been spared but now God and Moses decide to kill them so they now have to endure the second horror of mothers watching their children being slaughtered and children watching their mothers being slaughtered. That is the most sickening, torturous and sadistic act only the Abrahamic God could think was okay and a good job well done.

Terry Riley Interesting😏, first you have a horror and grief of women seeing husbands slaughtered and boys seeing fathers slaughtered, and then you have mothers endure a second horror of watching their children being slaughtered and children watching their mothers being slaughtered. I mean, which one was first, the mothers watching the children or the children watching the mothers?
@terryriley8963

@@Daniel-cz7kd I very much doubt if the Israelites made any real humane effort with the slaughter so it would have been a chaotic event where the Israelites just piled in and killed woman and boys as they came across them so the lucky ones, woman and children, will have been hacked to death early on and the rest of the woman and children would have had watch the horrific slaughter whilst waiting for their turn. What bothers me about your reply is you seem to totally dismiss or do not understand the actual horror and savagery of the slaughter of these woman and children but you question who watched who being slaughtered first? Maybe I should pay more attention to describing the detail about the order of these barbaric savage slaughters rather than just condemning them.

And being critical of Jesus’s resurrection? And no one has demonstrated how a single protein emerged from the 98 elements without the influence of intelligence. Miller Urey experiments, even cheating, using compounds and one element, that would provide only carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. Which they knew amino acids are made of. Excluding all other 94 elements. Still only producing 23 amino acids of 500+ kinds, never more than 12 of the 20 particular 20 that proteins are made of. Not a single protein. From their first experiment in 1952 and other variations they and others conducted to 2021. Even if they produced a collection of all 20 sufficient for making a modest protein, the problem of amino acids in proteins are their being in 100% left handed forms. Plus energy needs to be applied to make the peptide bond between them, and they being specifically oriented, alpha amino-alpha carboxyl group and the sequences of which those 20 can make that defines a protein’s function and folding into it’s 3D shape. Let's be clear about one thing. Culturally at this time females were married off and presumably no longer virgins before they had their first period, so around 12 to 14 years old. So the the only surviving Midianites were 32,000 pre-pubescent girls. What was the total population, of Midian anyway, well over several hundred thousand? How is it that the Israelites are always complaining about not having food and water yet they are living near Midian where they have almost a half million head of livestock? The total population of the planet prior to the Late Bronze Age collapse was only estimated to be around 25 to 75 million people. Should I mention that the area that has been identified as Midian was not settled until the 8th to 7th century BCE so some 600 years after this story is suppose to have taken place.

Just a reminder that those 32 women that were "tributes for the lord" were actually sacrificed. In the King James version, it specifically says that they were an offering. Lastly, notice how in this story Moses says that it's the Midianites that cause the plague. But if you go back to the actual chapter where this event happened, it was the Moabites who "caused the plague". Which means, if any of this actually happened, that God commanded the death of a whole tribe of people on mistaken identity. It's verses like these that are a really good example of why the Documentary Hypothesis has merit.

It is no wonder Christians concentrate on the NT. They just forget to mention that Jesus never condemned any of the actions by his egoistic jealous murderous father. They justify the action of their omnibenevolent God by stating that he wanted Isrealites to be pure and that his ten commandments does not apply if they are carrying out God's command.
@AndrewJens

Because of the so-called "new covenant," Christians think they can ignore the nasty atrocities and laws of the old testament.They carefully pick the old testament scriptures that make them feel good and that fit nicely into their comforting little devotionals.They either ignore the "bad verses" or listen to their preachers/teachers/apologists cover them up and tell them what those verses "really mean." But the one that Jesus called "Father" is the Yahweh of the old testament,and those Laws of the old test.,according to Jesus,would not be removed before heaven and earth passed away.
@patelk464
@patelk464 2 жыл бұрын
@@shriggs55 it also has to be remembered that one of the foundational Christian doctrines is that Jesus is God. He is the Jehovah/YHWH/Yahweh. So he is the God that ordered the slaughter of potentially millions of people to in his attempt to achieve his pure race. So although Christians cites examples of 'good' Jesus, it is an attempt to whitewash his genocidal orders in OT. Creationist claim that we are all one race which does not make sense in this context.

@@patelk464 I think where they get confused(some willingly)is when they compare (in their minds anyway)Jesus in the new test. to Yahweh in the old test. It looks like Jesus is "Yahweh light." They do mental gymnastics in trying to reconcile the two testaments.But they need to know that the god of the old test.doesn't change-it says that in many places in the Bible.Therefore,whether one wants to treat Jesus and Yahweh as being different or how they acted differently from one dispensation to the other-the being that committed the atrocities in the tanakh-was the one that Jesus repeatedly called his "Father"-and whom Jesus said that, when you see me you've seen the father.

So true, since my awakening from this book, at first I noticed the nonsense of OT so tried to stick on NT, but found out that there are scriptures in NT that Jesus refers OT God as LOVE and some OT events as if occured, which will mean Jesus was watching all the nonsense happenings in OT, and it’s okay for him too. This shocked me but convinced me 100%, something is actually wrong with this whole book.

So to summarize, the god of the bible created humans in his image and wants a personal relationship with each one, on some occasions even helping believers find their car keys. Yet on multiple occasions he pits the Israelites against neighboring tribes to kill and enslave them. How does this make any sense of the behavior of an entity powerful enough to create the universe?
@Daniel-cz7kd
@Daniel-cz7kd 2 жыл бұрын
Tom Schmidt It makes absolutely no sense, as many people, who’ve studied and understood the truth and righteousness of the Bible, have explained many times, no god of the bible ever created humans, much less the universe, many have corrupted humans to their image sure, just like the corrupted earth, but not created

Instead, he supposedly said, "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in moses' seat," and then goes on one of his hypocritical rants about the scribes and pharisees being a bunch of hypocrites --matt 23:2. Why? Because jesus clearly held moses' seat in high esteem and had no problem with moses having such an esteemed seat in the first place. Then there's the verse where jesus supposedly cleanses a man with leprosy of leprosy; matt 8:4 "And jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that moses commanded, for a testimony unto them." I wonder what the "gift" moses commanded the man to give to the priest was. Do you know? No matter, it's clear that jesus was okay enough with moses to expect that guy to follow moses' command. matt 17:1-4 the supposed transfiguration of jesus; "(3) And, behold, there appeared unto them (peter, james, and john, his brother) moses and e-li'as talking with (jesus). (4) Then answered peter, and said unto jesus, lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for moses, and one for e-li'as." jesus was talking to moses and didn't call him out for any of the atrocities he committed?!! What the hell was wrong with jesus that he didn't call out moses when moses was supposedly standing right there? Oh, yea, he thought moses was freaking awesome. That's enough for now Daniel.

1. Zipporah got shafted in the Bible. "The Prince of Egypt" characterizes her like a freaking badass, though. Just go watch that. 2. Hang on: wasn't Balaam the dude with the talking donkey? I can't remember any of these dudes' names Anymore. (After-note: Oh hey, I was right!). XD 3. "Have you allowed all of the women to live?" Somehow, that wasn't a curve-ball. I wonder why...? I'm disturbed by the fact that he specifically uses the word "girl", though. Why/ Ahem..."Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins, my sin, my soul. Lolita. The tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palette to tap, at three, upon the teeth: Lo. Li. Ta." Anyone here get my drift? Abigail Thorn said it's the worst possible book to be listening to in the car if you get pulled over by the cops. 4. Remember that these priests weren't Catholic, Buddhist, Jain, or Hindu. They didn't have to stay celibate. It's actually very encouraged for both rabbis and imams to have children. Just NOT by captive girls, guys, come on! 5. Why do I get the feeling that this would have been one of the parts of Scripture that slave-holders in the American south would have appealed to? See, though? You can make the Bible say anything you want it to. 6. You can't believe we're talking about gold after committing a genocide? Uh, yeah. Where do you think the British Empire got its hubris in raiding India, just as ONE example. But I'm using that one because of your familial history, eh. India was even called "the jewel in her majesty's crown", because the place is so rich in gold, and SUPER expensive spices. Do you know how expensive saffron is? HOLY SHIT levels of expensive.
