I don't understand all the negative comments- Tavarish bought the cheap car that everyone else would have avoided and is willing to share his experience with us for free! You don't have to fix it, buy the parts, chase wiring shorts, etc. So everybody just calm down, sit back, and enjoy the show. Godspeed Tavarish!

William Bonnette, that was my first thought when he started getting into the details and then my last thought at the end of the video. That whole build looks janky. It feels like it's only going south from here. I seen this before with friends projects when buying other ppls crapy builds, its a ending fight and more costly in the long run. Selling the parts can fund the car restore to stock, all while getting a low mileage, low price, and fairly not so damaged car in the process. Unless all the engine changes arent compatible with its stock configurtion?

Seeing lots of comments telling Tavarish the car is going to be a money pit but that’s not the point of this car by a long shot... this car will probably never make Tavarish money and he clearly knows that. This is, like most project cars, a labor of love and honestly I’m glad that he has the financial means to take on this project because if he didn’t, we wouldn’t all be seeing this awesome build/restoration happen. I wish you the best of luck with this one Tavarish, it’s going to be a tough but rewarding journey!
@unknownunknowns6 жыл бұрын
Isaac Fralish It’s not just the money pit issue. He bought this so he can make money from the KZbin video views. And you can’t be so sure if he has the financial means because he mentioned in a previous video that he would limit his time on Jalopnik to do more video views. Also, he still has a mortgage and, in one of his videos, his house was pretty much empty from furniture. So, it’s the impression that he’s been spending money on all of those cars and garage equipment that he can’t buy any furniture? So, we’re kind of questioning his financial stability. Anyway, I hope his project won’t be a basket case.
@francoisfranceschini79476 жыл бұрын
zenon if he makes 100k in a year w this car it still wont be enough to cover all the parts, labor, specialty tools etc that he will need to get this back to stock and in “acceptable” shape. If that engine goes bad or has a baked/cracked piston, its 10-15k to rebuild or 10-20k for a used one. If the lsd in the diff is bad, probably 3k. If he bends a rim is 3K, original lambo wheels 3-5K a set. Basically anything mechanical is ridiculously expensive. Body work is doable. This is all ignoring the fact that he payed 64 FUCKING THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR IT. CASH!! Car is not worth a penny over 30k

Right and I do question HOW MUCH MONEY is he making from KZbin. He said that he would limit his columnist job from Jalopnik so he would do these videos. Also, maybe those projects are too hard for him to handle and so he brings in these cars. Also, some of his cars like his Mercedeses don’t have issues.

What a nightmare. Buying any car that poorly maintained/modified is a bad idea, let alone a $64,000 Lamborghini. Amazing what terrible shape it's in for 19,xxx miles. I'm pretty sure this is the worst automotive money pit I've ever seen. Best of luck, you'll need it...

Erik Krauss yeah I thought this was crazy common knowledge but this so called car expert didn't know???? This video has me really worried for his future lol
@tidyrthompson62996 жыл бұрын
jon lavezza not everyone will know everything, when most people research tyres all they look at is the tyre specs i.e grip compound etc and reviews on the brand and tyres suited to the car. Most people will only ever go by a visual check for condition of tyres like signs of cracking and tread left, but unless your someone whos usually in the trade as a tyre fitter or mechanic or is a diy enthusiast its something that isnt mentioned anywhere else for the other % of people out there that puts the car in a garage and pays for work to be done, have only just got into cars or have chossen a particular area to learn about cars like bodywork, engine work, electrics so someone learning just about engines isnt going to come across what everything means on a tyre. Another way to look at it is, im a mechanic have been since i left school on and off but lived and breathed cars all my life. straight from school was an apperentice at a fast fit chain and that's where i learnt about the DOT code myself. But now im 33 and i can hand on heart say i do not know the name of every part fitted to every car made or what everything means on the VIN plate. The biggest problem with learning cars is there is a never ending amount of knowledge to learn, yes every car around the world has the same rules that makes them a car but every car is different, no two cars are identical and every person in every garage in every country around the world may refer to parts differently, like american calls the coolant bottle a header tank, Uk most call it expansion bottle, US call exhaust manifolds headers, UK exhaust manifold etc etc. So after that massive ramble ive just done the moral of my post is not everyone knows everything even simple things at times, and to know everything about cars and what everything is does and means is virtually impossible. Anyhoooo i'll stop typing now 😂 have a good day my friend 👍

Hey that window (wind deflector) needs to be down in order for the Convertible top motors to work. Think VW/Audi.... If you make the window switches close or get the deflector to work, the top motors MAY work.

I would just drop the SL and Supra project and go all in on the Lambo and MR2. SL500’s are a dime a dozen on the road and no one really cares if it’s an AMG manual or not honestly lol not worth it
@phillipberk57676 жыл бұрын
TMT honestly I’d say fck the MR2, and keep the others cause Supra’s are badass and the SL is cool mr2 I don’t care for that much and it’s been done before a lot a manual SL that’s cool and the lambo is badass

Phillip Berk The Supra is a non-turbo model so it’s nothing special. Lots of old Lexus models have that same 2JZ-GE engine.

I have a feeling someone bought this from copart with engine out and fire damage etc. They then thought hey ill throw it back together and get it half ass running and sell it for a profit. AngelAngelov MMA watch the video dumbass.... he literally just went over every single thing wrong with it. That ECU.... as in the tiny computer that’s all fucked up and is causing the engine not to be able to run properly was 10,000. That’s double already on one piece. That front bumper is 10-15k same with the rear, all the paint. Every single wire needs to be ripped out and re done. Just the parts alone would be a massive massive number but the labor (thank God he’s going to try to do it himself, only to realize it’s going to need to be done by a specialist with special tools and knowhow) the labor is going to be astronomical. You could pick one of these up, a good one with low miles for under 100k. The sum of the work and parts is more than the car. That means it’s not worth it. It’s totaled. Ruined. Rip. Gone. Forever. Part it.
@Vspeeds6 жыл бұрын
AngelAngelov MMA ok we will see. I’ll say realistically. If he was to make that back to showroom condition, and redo that turbo kit... I’d say conservatively 250k. You go with 5k we will see who’s closer.
