I saw this car 10+ years ago when it was with the exotic car mechanic in North Houston. My father was having a service and track alignment done on his 997 GT3 at his shop… When we picked it up we were chatting with the owner of the shop about cars and motorsports, he took us back to show us a few track cars, as well as the Veyron. It was still in the original silver paint, but was very disassembled. Having known about the video and backstory, I was stunned that this car was being quietly worked on less than 30 minutes from home.

Just so you guys know, you either have a spec of dust on your lens or your sensor is damaged. 2-3 pixels worth is quite noticeable during the close ups, less so during the full torso scenes.

I was working in the Valero Texas city refinery when this happened. When I left work that day and was driving down the feeder road, I noticed a larger rear winged vehicle sitting in the water. The closer I got the more clearer it got that it wasn't Honda with a huge rear wing. I just didn't know it would become such a huge story. It sounded so horrible idling away in the water.

Whilst an absolute. PITA, remaking a wiring harness on a flood car is a piece of cake. Replace corroded purple/white with wire color of your choosing. Try doing it on a burned car with no diagram!Now if one of the computers is corroded...

I remember crawling all through it in the shop it was at in Houston in 2012 or 13 I believe. Piles of rusty bolts. They had just pulled the windshield and started cleaning around that area. They had a hired a basic tech to do the disassemble, clean up and repair. He was a goof and barely showed up to work and eventually didn't. Hope they get to do a video of the resurrection!

Imagine if the engine was bad. Drop in a Nelson racing 427tt that makes 1500hp. The amount of hate and death threats someone would get for ls swapping a Bugatti would be legendary.

Royalty sounds like a better end for Alex' channel- he was really good at his projects and the finished quality of his builds was awesome, from what I've seen (and heard from a couple of buyers). FR

Those aftermarket rims alone look like a disaster to happen, you can't seriously think you can put some 'camaro' wheels onto it and expect this to work. And Ed, be glad you missed out on this project, you said the SLR project was a nightmare... you wouldn't wake up from this one. Houston has some connections with Bugatti, granted that will be his success to bringing it to life again. And yes, I would love to hear more about the story. Like everybody else ;-)

The first bugatti was insane, two keys one to unlock 500 hp and the other to unlock the 501 hp. Definitely a crazy car especially for the time.
