The reason demons take so long to accomplish their goals is mostly due to the amount of paperwork and files they need to fill out each time they visit our realm. There's also levels of actions they’re allowed to take equal to the amount of documentation they've filed. The first visit is always limited heavily due to the "expedition allowance" file. The more visits they make, the more noticeable actions they’re allowed to take.

For whatever reason ever since i was little even trailers for stupid horror movies(or non horror movies, Gremlins actually gave me nightmares for years.) would give me nightmares and panic attacks for a ridiculous amount of time. Started watching cinemasins and turned into a really fun way to experience horror movies, and eventually with the exposure, I can watch horror movie trailers without getting freaked out and can finally enjoy classic horror movies. Thanks cinema sins! Also weirdly enough neither the Saw or Final Destination franchises ever freaked me out when i was younger. not sure why tbh.

After being thoroughly disappointed with the Dead Space games, I've learned that the "general public" are a bunch of sheltered wusses and what they consider "super scary" is just mildly disturbing. Then again, my generation grew up being terrified by Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers (both the slasher villain and the comedy actor), Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and our "PG" rated movies were Watership Down, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and such, so my generation is a little hardier than the current generations for surviving all of that.

There's THREE other movies to include, with talks of a fourth one next year: The Marked Ones (2014 - doesn't link back to the story until the very end), The Ghost Dimension (2015 - arguably the worst one I've seen), and Next of Kin (2021 - still confused how it links back). Just in case you want to torture yourself for our amusement any further 😅
@agent00chimp2 жыл бұрын
Next of Kin? Well, it's just a chronicle of a family of the Midwives coven trying to get a girl to return to her family for a sacrifice to placate and suppress the emergence of an all powerful demon (which are all over the world apparently...but mostly in the USA I think). "Toby" from most of the PA1-5 films films was another prince of Hell I think? He never really possessed Katie...But seemed to groom her along with the coven for another demon to possess her...Apparently all this demon summoning and the dark time travel door are all too take over and drown the earth in literal Darkness and hell forever. Next of Kin is only connected to the other PAs as far as letting you see a bit more elsewhere that the demons are now walking among us with human vessels thanks to the Midwives and gaining traction on bringing the apocalypse to earth. Would have to watch again to see if there's any mention of Katie or anyone else we already knew previously...

18:35 I mean.. that's how it is in the city, most people don't care if you're covered in blood. In my city someone was stabbed in broad daylight at the bus depot and everyone just watched and stood there while he died. I went to a local comic con as Dexter Morgan and was covered in fake blood and the whole way to the convention center, ONE elderly lady gasped at me and I explained it was fake for a costume, not a single other person gave a shit that I looked like I just murdered someone. I've been with friends who were bleeding all over the place from an injury or a fight and no one said a damn word to us or asked if we needed help. Another time my friend came to find me in the public library to rant to me because she was wasted and had fallen down and hallucinated that "a big group of people just beat me up" (later when sober she admitted it was a hallucination and she had actually tripped, rolled over a few times down a hill, lost her glasses, and in her head decided people were beating her up and stole her glasses, and not that she was tumbling all by herself) and she was ranting and raving and covered in blood and dirt, and after she left the actual security cop at the library, a real police officer hired to stay on the premesis, casually came over to ask me if my friend was okay and said she looked like she was on meth, not alcohol, and I told him "Idk, she really gets that crazy when she drinks, she can't handle it, but I'm no expert, and I'm sorry and this is embarrassing." And he shrugged and went back to his post. Didn't call it in or follow her or question it further. No one cares if people have blood on them these days, it's not shocking. That's the USA for you, if it's not your business, look the other way, it's like our national motto these days.

Is the only thing that matters the profit margin? in that case immediately found footage movies are the best movies on the planet, especially since paranormal activity 1 made 193 mil at the box office and costs a whopping 15 thousand dollars to make, meaning that logic is bull shit, and if you rule out the cost of the movie because that obviously a bullshit statistic in found footage films, then you mean just because it made alot of money that means its good. and if THATS what you mean then i should just remind you Morbius made 163 mil, just 30 mill less, and its considered and absolute flop. Clearly these are the greatest movies ever. They grossed enough to build and launch a space shuttle and all they needed was a few cameras and a napkin to write the "plot" on. You don't need to worry about any effects because nothing happens. It doesn't matter if the actors are any good because there's no plot. You don't even need to pay for enough actors because the ghosts are never seen and don't really do anything. Its the perfect movie.

Thought you might find this interesting to know. So, common lore regarding demons is that there are stages to possession. There's infestation (stuff moving, lights, etc), oppression (weird gaps of time you can't remember, unexplained new abilities or knowledge, etc...the lite version of the possession if you will), then full on possession (your mind and body are no longer your own). Now in the first two stages, there is a higher chance of getting free, very difficult but possible. Upon full possession however, it is nearly impossible to become free of a demon because it has taken over you completely.

That's basic knowledge and adds pretty much nothing to PA movies, since none of them follow the steps. We never see someone go through the second and third stages (not that I remember, been a long time since I last wasted precious hours of life watching these). And since we also never got around to seeing some half-assed exorcism, it just makes the movie duller than it was. Even more difficult to be certain that every haunting wasn't just a really angry and/or bored ghost cat.

You know how this "dick with the haunted before possessing" trope can work? Either specify the demon/ghost grows power with their unease, or it's a minion of the bigger entity there to make them believe the supernatural is there, and therefore making them more susceptible to possession.

At 23:07 , not to go weird science but what if it's not a vocal talking one is doing of the ghost aspect but manipulating something in order for only the individual to hear? Probably better said why not put a solid or denser say Mike Boone perhaps this could pick up whatever the kids here in. Not trying to remember the name of the device where you put a pin on a wide surface end register what the surface is picking up because you can't hear it but I can't remember the during device.

Honestly, I absolutely love the "Prankster Demon Toby" Compilations at the end! It's such a fun picture to imagine: Demonprince Toby visiting the human-realm to mess with them, filming it on his ghost-camera and putting it on his ghost-tube-channel "PranksterPrince" with 5 million undead subs laughing their ass off at the misery of the stupid humans trying and failing to get rid of him... At least until his community notices he's running out of ideas, leading him to run back into the lowest bowels of hell in shame.
