"Point me to how all these people are rock stars in their chosen fields" Rumor has it that Pennywise made them unbelievably successful so they wouldn't come back to Derry because they were the only ones who could destroy It. This is my biggest issue with this movie is that it re-architected (pun not intended) Pennywise to want the Losers Club to come back. In the book, Pennywise wanted them to stay away so it could continue to feast on the weak people of Derry so It made them wildly successful and forget what happened so it wouldn't rock It's perfect situation.

A bit like unseasoned boiled chicken, gives all the benefits, but not tasty by any means. It scared them because they are tastier with fear; the fear is basically the seasoning or/and the sauce to the boiled chicken. Georgie and the little girl were both killings early on when it first woke up, so it's really just food to give energy and later on he'll eventually build up his appetite.

Um everyone in the bathroom stall scene with Bev DID have a mental impact on her (rewatch the first chapter if you need a review but I'll do my best here). The girl dumped trash all over Beverly during the last day of school, and the way it played out in the first film implied that these were girls that had bullied her for the entire duration of that school year (feel free to add an extra sin here for 'bully cliché'). The pharmacist was flat out creepy pedophile material during the scene where Bev purposefully distracts him so that the losers can steal bandages and crap for Ben. Henry Bowers is.....well Henry Bowers, but also played a major part in spreading rumors that Beverly would sleep with anyone. And THEN her father was just a horrible abusive dickwad. I'm not denying that most these people gave Eddie a hard time, but Eddie wasn't the sole target. These people hassled Beverly (I assume with countless others in Derry) simply because 'Killing extraterrestrial clowns' didn't make it on their 'To do' list, and they had no other hobbies to fill their time.

All of the people in the bathroom stall scene were actually pretty relevant to Beverly. She sees the pharmacist was because he hit on her when she was younger, she sees Greta (I think that was her name) is because she was constantly bullied by her, she sees Henry Bowers because he hunted her and her friends down and tried to kill them, and she sees her ex boyfriend/husband because he abused her. And of course we all know why she sees her dad, but all of those people were apart of the trauma she faced growing up in some way. Personally though, the first movie was a lot better. It was scarier and seemed to have more details. Chapter Two was great, but not as great. And the ending where Pennywise turns into a baby and melts was hilarious. So this is how I interpreted it: Pennywise essentially created his own Achilles heel. While becoming smaller things to trick children and make them fear him, he didn’t ever think that adults who aren’t scared of those things anymore would come back for him. They don’t see him as this big eater of worlds, and they never have. No one has. He isn’t that powerful to them. Pennywise has made himself strong by making himself small, yet only he and the losers and the tribe know of his “eater of worlds” title.
@Scootaskyeee5 жыл бұрын
Most people are afraid of something that can destroy an entire world like Pennywise claims he can do, but he’s never proven that he can. He’s only ever proven that he can be a shapeshifter to scare people and feed. He can’t scare the losers with a title he’s never proven to live up to.

That's why I think they're in there. I know the nineties version people freaked out about how lame the spider was. But, at least the spider was cannon from the book. Clown-shaming IT while basically doing the Care Bear stare was the saddest thing I think I've ever seen in a movie. I was pleased with the 1st 2/3s if the film, but if you make me miss a rubber spider from the 1990s because you're trying to "woke" evil to death!? You screwed the pooch, buster. 😒😔👎🤦

@@goldilox369 agreed, i also didnt like the ending because the spider was lame (both new and old) but i actually saw the concept art before the movie so i was HELLA mad when i saw that this freaky ass design was scrapped. have a feeling they changed it so pennywise could talk more.
@peanutsfansontario45 жыл бұрын
As a book fan who thought that the Losers forgetting each other in the end was almost beautifully poetic and tragic, I was okay with the choice to have them still remember each other. The use of the “Blood Oath” theme but changed up slightly, plus the shots of the kids was a masterful choice. I DID NOT like that Stan’s suicide was turned into this heroic sacrifice so the others could defeat It, though. It seemed very forced and frankly, made no sense. They set up his fear perfectly in the previous film, especially with the scene where he is separated and hunted by It, with It gnawing on his face as that lady he kept seeing. It looked like he caught a bit of the Deadlights when it attacked him and it was perfect setup for his suicide - he saw too much as a child and when he was confronted with the thought of having to return, he is not able to fight the fear any longer and ends his own life rather than be afraid again. Also, the final form and how they defeated It was disappointing. I really wanted to see this Lovecraft horror-spider it was supposed to be and I was ready for It to finally ditch the clown persona. No talking and taunts, just this giant monster-spider trying to kill them. And while I liked seeing them use belief to defeat It, I feel that the way they took it down in both the book and the 1990 miniseries is more satisfying. Just yelling at it to death... not a satisfying end.

Especially Mike and they could've played up how his confrontation between Pennywise leads him feeling outmanned and outgunned how he's being constantly watched and slowly going insane not just with the feeling of Penngwise watching him but also finding out all the horrific stuff that happened in town also the people Mike actually meeting the few people in Derry that have experiences with Pennywise and the evil supernatural occupancies Mike can associate with him. It's like a Noir thing because at the same time multiple children are going missing or being found dead they just fumbled his potential angle into horror so hard.

The parents of Derry being neglectful is explained in detail in the book. Pennywise's presence alters the atmosphere and the mindset of the parents creates this apathetic and cold response to their own children. Even going deeper into why Bill's parents continually were ignorant to him and not showing much emotion over Georgie. Henry getting bailed out by Patrick is in the book too. You have to remember he has lost his mind and is experiencing hallucinations of his dead friends. The problem is the film kind of glossed over it, whereas in the book it goes into much deeper detail, plus his confrontation with Mike and Eddie in the book is better, more brutal, and gives more insight into Henry.

I don't know if it was an intended comic relief, but I cried laughing and my sides hurt when they started trashing the Asian restaurant and when Richie started yelling at that kid.

One more sin: When Eddie stabs Henry, the knife is in his solar plexus, but when he pulls it out, the knife is higher on his chest.

two things : at 18:49 they actually are people who are specific to bev and not eddie. all three of the males objectified and showed sexual intent towards her despite being extremely underage and greta bullied her all through school. also at 21:47 the note spells "loose" incorrectly on purpose to show his frantic mindset and the fact he was losing it. stan is always shown to be meticulous throughout the movies (being the only one to leave his bike stood up, cleaning the blood in straight lines, not being able to resit the urge to straighten judith’s painting etc) so him spelling it wrong is a way of demonstrating that he's not himself and his mental state is fragile enough to change a fundamental part of his personality
