He did go into anaphylactic shock for a minute because he stopped yelling and passed out for a minute before giving him the epi pen. This was a scary-ass ending to a movie, those people didn't just kill him, they killed him in the most long horrible painful and suffering way. They revived him from being unconscious just so he could suffer more. And many of them were smiling, they enjoyed his drawn-out agony and suffering!

The remake is terrible, but the original film is a piece of shit also. The cinematography and general productions values are awful and bad accents aplenty (I'm from Scotland), and there's a bunch of utterly pointless and cringeworthy dance scenes. Not to mention the premise is utterly preposterous. Because of its status as "cult film" people blindly overlook all kinds of stupidity that others would scoff at in any other film. I would say that the remake IS better because: A) Production values are better and it's more pleasing on the eye due to much better cinematography. B) It has more unintentional comic value.
