I am a bit surprised that Nimrod could be stopped so easily by being encased in amber when he was able to withstand Iceman's frost attack with relative ease. I'm guessing Nimrod was not prepared to be encased in amber. In order to justify to the rest of the world of their upcoming slaughter of ORCHIS, the mutants need to make Omega Sentinel and Nimrod publicly admit that if they succeed in wiping out mutantkind, then their next goal would be snuffing out all of humanity.

​@@joluotopeople forget that Krakoa's amber isn't the same as the amber people find dinosaurs in. Krakoa's amber pretty much induces stasis and saps energy, and was how he trapped several mutants back in his hungry days. May have helped if the writers expounded slightly that it wasn't any ordinary amber though, so I understand all the confusion about why Nim can laugh off Xavier, Juggernaut, Magneto and Iceman's attacks, but get stopped in sap. 😅

Excellent video, as always. 1) "Timely" is probably just an old-time Marvel ref, given the name's history. 2) Cyclops didn't bother with a defense because he knew it was useless. 3) Omega Sentinel may have played her hand too openly here, especially if the good doctor was looking for it.

My $0.02: Krakoa may have outmaneuvered Nimrod, here. If Krakoa captured Nimrod and put him in the Pit, then Nimrod is confined in there with Doug Ramsey and Warlock. Warlock is one of the Phalanx (one of the beings Nimrod was created to serve), and Doug Ramsey's talent with language makes him a peerless hacker (he's had machines try to assimilate him, before, only to counter-hack and take them over). The two of them working together, especially with Krakoa itself running interference and augmented with Phalanx tech donated by Warlock (which was mentioned in the Inferno arc), have a pretty good chance of keeping Nimrod in check, at least for long enough for the two of them (and whoever else is also in there with them) to figure out what to do with/about him. So, Nimrod might have gone from being a problem to an asset, here. Or at least become less of a problem, in the long run.

That would have been a nice "defeat" for Nimrod, by Doug of all people. Warlock isn't in the pit any longer though. He was actually Orchis's prisoner (captured by Nimrod) until recently when Nightcrawler and Mystique sprung him in Uncanny Spider-Man's finale.

Timely was also the name of marvel comics precursor. It’s interesting because metaphorically cyclops, who’s become representative of all mutant kind, is being dragged through the 616. Cyclops is being judged by both humanity and by extension the comic’s readership for what krakoa has done.

In Timeless 2022, when Kang The Conqueror was bested by Myrddyn, and when he time traveled, you could see the Krakoan tree in New York burning, so maybe with Kang being involved with the Avengers comics, maybe he will make a deal with the X-Men for their help on dealing with Myrddyn and the other problems and he will help them with whatever they will face in the future and he will be able to tell them things and help them with things in ways that Destiny can't. That is just a theory. Tell me what you all think.

I thought this Omega Sentinel lady come back from a future ruled rule the entire solar system, I believe this OS is from Moira's 10th life, the one were Apocalypse kills the Children of the Vault. That Nimrod was sent back to stop Mutants and failed, so the machines turned to the Dominion in hope that they would save them. But the Mutants killed all the Dominion's with a Phoenix Sword. But one survived, this one is/was the Trickster Titan (which I agree looks like a Phalanx, and so did the other one) and sent her mind back to possess the original Omega Sentinel. But I don't think Omega Sentinel is back to pave the way for the Phalanx, or at lest not knowingly. I get the impression that she's doing all this for her kind, not aware the Phalanx will show up to knock/assimilate her as well. Polaris' new costume looks fantastic 👍👍

Regarding Omega Sentinel, it would be understandable if one didn't read every single HoX/PoX title that that point was missed, but Blerd pointed you/viewers to the exact comic where that misconception was cleared up. We all assumed through lack of contradiction that everything was tied to the 10 lives of Moira and mutants always losing, until it was revealed that there were 10 other timelines experienced by Omega Sentinel where mutants always won. Her future consciousness was sent back into the body of her past self (who was actually an ally of the X-Men) to ensure mutants do not win this time around (by the "Trickster Titan").

@@bajansamurai Really man, its been 5 years so pardon me for not being 100% on Moira's life's and when it was. Blerd only showed you/the viewers images of the Omega Sentinel and the Dominion/Phalanx's that was not from HoX/PoX but from Inferno 3. Omega Sentinel is from a different future, which when I originally looked it up it said she's from Moira Life ten [A]? I don't remember seeing Moira in this Omega Sentinels timeline from Inferno 3, so I got confused. Now that you mention it I do vaguely remember something about 10 other timelines. I think it was mentioned on one of those side pages that gives us a run down of info. I may have made a mistake with Moira's 10th life, given that is the main life we have seen of her up do her being killed by a future infected Phalanx Logan, and she be came a Sentinel Moira or Moira's 11th life. She was shown in the future twice, 9th life where she was in Apocalypse' stasis. Then there was a future were she's in a Preserve with Logan, this I think was her 6th life? Which are from the HoX/PoX stories. But then their was a timeline, which I think is the future of the main one. Where Logan was alone in a Preserve and attacked by Sentinel Moira. This was the infect Phalanx Logan that went back in time, and I believe this was from X Deaths of Wolverine. So this is not one of Moira's earlier Life's, and if it is from the main timeline then this is now Sentinels Moira's future. Which no long exist. The rest about Trickers and Omega Sentinel's mind being sent back, I already covered.

I mean, I assumed it was Jean (red hair, and all), but I missed the Phoenix broach, and that she was the reason he didn't fall. Well, being all a dream, Jean wasn't doing anything at all, but your point is still valid. Blerd's description wasn't fully accurate by saying "wielding the power of the Phoenix", it was more so that the red hair and the phoenix pendant were meant to thematically and visibly represent Jean in the dream (if anyone could even be mistaken about a redhead being anyone other than Jean in a Scott dream - OK, maybe Maddy, but the most obvious assumption anyone would/should make first is Jean). "Jean" was merely keeping him aloft with telekinesis, which ties back to all his fever haze mutterings or his references as if Jean would show up to save him at some point.

Not bad issue/review. Some issues moved forward; others are still in the dark. The Nimrod/Omega Sentinel underlying motives are finally becoming known. The scattered hero/mutant resistance is moving forward. We'll see the High Evolutionary return, Polaris role in this and where's Krakoa? It's hard to talk about the timeline's events in 616 with Orchis, as the events of the Children of Tomorrow's war with Orchis, should have been dealt critical blow with the Master Mold Station and producing regular Orchis Sentinels which should have been a crippling blow if that was the only major production facility. The loss of the Orchis Martian station by Genisis and her children should have set back Orchis Solar operations. Orchis already lost the base at Empire University (Ms Marvel) as well as the destruction of the base under the X-men Tree Base from Uncanny Avengers. It seems the destruction of so many of Orchis bases and not even including the bases by Sabretooth's band, should have create huge financial losses and notices of the Orchis financial backers, resources, and communication, yet this issue, Orchis's human factors seem to be oblivious to the lose & communication. Is Sinister, Fei Long, Dr. Gregor along with their intelligent simians, so clueless that they've not scrutinized the data & security protocols. We'll have to see where a human Sebastian Shaw, mutant Selene will function once Orchis falls and where Moira, no longer human/mutant is falls in her 11th life.

Is it just by coincidence that originally, Captain Kate Pryde of the Marauders was the only mutant who Couldn't use the Krakoan Gates ... until she died & came back; now she is the only mutant who Can use the Krakoan Gates?

It's not just coincidence, it's a very specifically mentioned flip of her dynamic with the gates. After coming back she still couldn't use them, but when Orchis caused them to close behind the mutants (inverting how they worked essentially) her inability to use them was flipped. Regular mutants no longer can and she now can, because when they all she couldn't (due to some, still as yet, unexplained quirk about how her powers work, supposedly).

Quite a boring opening issue. Wasnt really any notable shift from the ongoing storyline, couldve just been another regular x-men issue. And the next issue isnt for another 5-6 weeks. I have a feeling the writers will just try to tie up a bunch of loose threads accumulated over the past year, without much success, in order to just wrap things up. Rise of the Powers of X has the potential to be really good, but again im not hopeful. What are the questions being asked? What is the purpose of these new issues other than just undoing Hickman's run because its too difficult to maintain/measure up to? Im not optimistic...

Theyre "tying it up" because they dont have the capacity to make it good anymore. Hickman made an amazing new world for mutants to explore and since hes left its been in significant decline (other than X-men Red). This is Marvel trying to go back to the Mansion because they're out of answers. Would love to be proven wrong but, doubt it. Rise of the Powers of X this week was a dissapointment as well.

Makes me wonder how they're going to tie things back to Manifold tying into saving mutant kind. My assumption is that he's another domino to fall in place that Destiny will point people to eventually. Wherever he was buried (in Krakoa) may turn out to be the part that is in the White Hot Room, and he has the ability to teleport them back to Earth. If not already there, he's in one, safe from all that happened, and able to teleport to the WHR and get those stranded there out.
