We bought a new 1164 County clocking up 6,300hours on our 10,460 acre farm at Scaddan in South East of Western Australia. The main trouble we had was the small radiator struggled on any day over 100 degrees during harvest (which most were). The 4 wheel drive was great in our heavy clay country.

@@ChookHendo I can imagine with the heat of Australia how some machines might struggle.. I spent a year in WA. Perth and down through the wheatbelt to Esperance. It got crazy hot some days. Us Irish boys aren't used to it 🤣 Thanks for watching 👍

Alan, another very enjoyable video. When you think of some of the great brands like Leyland/Marshall, Muir-Hill and County (to name just a few), it is amazing how changing market conditions can lead to the quick demise of such iconic companies. The tractor market is now really dominated by a small group of very powerful companies.

Nice one Alan Another very informative and interesting video on one of the most iconic tractors in their day I drove one once in my life for just half a day, you'd need to be in a twenty acre field to turn it. You need to have a serious word with your sound engineer, after you putting in all the effort and ending up with a silent movie. Keep on keeping on

We've got a Muir Hill, a County crawler (along with Track Marshalls) and one you didn't mention a factory built County loading shovel (apparently 16 were made, basically a County set up to run backwards with a bucket loader where the 3 point hitch would've been) that we're slowly putting back together.

The company I worked for had a C Reg (1985), Ford Transit 1.5 t pick-up, 4 wd County conversion. It was not a success to put it mildly, very poor turning circle and heavy steering. A complete dog to drive compared to our B Reg standard Transit pick up. It didn't have a passenger seat on delivery from new, as I believe it was overweight on the front axle.
