Montauk is a synergistic that is a great variety that isn’t talked about that much in the South. Its widely adapted, and it always does good for me in the South. It’s high yielding too.

I grew Incredible the last few years. Trying a different variety, Passion, this year. I still have a few weeks before my average last frost date. Guess I could go ahead and put in the pre-plant organic fertilizer. I will check your growing guide. I think it will take me several years to soak in all the information, but really enjoyed it.

That is really sweet to convert your garden space to a flower garden for a wedding! I bet your son and future daughter in law appreciate it greatly! The old goat is hiding behind the carrots. We have a huge stink bug problem here so I’m hoping they don’t get to our sweet corn or tomatoes.

I've never grown corn, don't really have the space, but love to eat it. Someone in the family always seems to grow some and is kind enough to share. The old goat is behind the carrots on the middle shelf.

Providence is a rust resistant version of Serendipity , both are bi-color. I've been growing five acres for over 25 years, started with Serendipity, then Providence, and then went to BT Providence{ BC0805} for the last 10 years. I have also started to grow SY Quicktrip 72 day .

Thank y'all. Very interesting topic this week. Enjoy learning about new varieties that I have never grown. Bugs were a big issue for us last year. Already have our corn in the ground here in South Louisiana. Mr. Old Goat is behind the carrots on the shelf behind Mr. Greg. Wishing y'all a blessed day.

Not sure how much corn we're planting this year ... had to give away a bunch last year because of health issues. Hopefully that's fixed, so may try again this year. We dried a bunch of our corn last year, so going to try planting that. It's either Peaches & Cream or Ambrosia. Old Goat over to Greg's right 👍

Well we thought we knew what varieties of corn we were going to grow. So with the exception of the Blue Hopi Corn. Gotta have our blue corn meal for excellent Navajo Fried Bread and Navajo Tacos. So now to looking at the sweet corns again and deciding on two! It is a well known fact and goats will eat just about anything. ACTUALLY that is generally false. So THEE Old Goat is trying to fit in behind the carrots in hopes of nibbling when no one is looking. As always Thank You for another informative and fun video!

I have an 8 x 20 ft bed ...is this big enough for corn pollination?
@gardeningwithhoss
@gardeningwithhoss 8 ай бұрын
yes Since sweet corn is pollinated by the wind, it cannot be planted in a single row. Even two rows of corn will not pollinate correctly. A plot 4 feet long by four rows wide is the minimum to getting good full ears of sweet corn. Sometimes you can get by with three rows.
