i really like the shift away from repetitive corner pressure towards a more midrange control character, but the damage on rekka1 is a little too much and encourages spamming it for combos. the diagonal sword is also really helpful for locking down certain characters like faust who could totally avoid S sword if they chose to crouch block. also would like to suggest a guide on how to dash and kara her rekka cuz ik a lot of people struggle with it (me included) and it looks really cool and fun to do. great vid ♥

I’m starting to think I’m in the minority of enjoying this season (yes I know it has problems but I’m having fun). But that could just also be me swapping over to Testament recently & really loving their gameplay. Especially with the stain throw. I played Faust previously but I just don’t think he fits my playstyle & has too many downsides for me personally. I also play A.B.A. but idk I’ve been quite enjoying my games this season besides fighting a few characters.

I'm enjoying new Ram so far!! Sword throw bug & Rekka 1 loop aside, it feels like she has more room for play variety now, especially when it comes to offensive strings. Her focus on stealing turns and frametrapping still feels like the core of the character, but getting new mix is more interesting than sword loops. Comboing into Sabrobato is really fun, too ✨

Honestly they don’t understand unless you make people *also* collect swords like in xrd. They’ll never be a resource that’s weak enough. I said it so many times, even you disagreed sq lol.

I think they’re moving her in a good direction. She felt weird because like… day 1 everybody complained about F.s which baffled me because it was a strong move but didn’t lead to much. Her having a Dauro conversion from like max range F.s means the button is a threat. Subsequently, because it is this strong now, they made her S sword toss a very strong resource. It’s the stronger of the two tosses in a vacuum because it functions better mid screen than H sword toss, but throwing it also means you lose access to F.s’ range for an entire set (haha Strive high damage rounds end too fast joke). So… she’s interesting but I don’t think her base kit ever felt 100%. Kinda felt this way to me in Xrd as well like they had this idea for a sword character and also a mage character and slapped them together but also Daisuke had been playing a lot of Tekken.

I actually changed my main(from Ram to Baiken). Which almost never happened before bc I'm pretty slow to learn new characters. I guess S4 Ram changes was too much for me and I don't like the feel of these new changes. Your guides really helped me getting into Strive though, SQ! I'm really thankful for that and I'll keep watching your stuff as your explanations and insights are really easy to understand.

I am... accepting enough of her changes, i'm always a little :C about learning a character all over again, that's partially why I stopped playing Gio, but I don't like Calvados. I guess not sin, but in the case of Nago, Happy Chaos, and Zato can all restore their resources with their super, and Asuka can use meter to restore mana, so it's the same premise. Ignoring how like, literally broken/bugged S sword toss is, I wish we could Calvados to bring back our swords again. I WOULD ALSO STILL REALLY LIKE AN EASIER CONFIRM FOR 2K 2D SINCE THEY NERFED THE DASH MOMENTUM THAT THAT REALLY RELIED ON. But that might just be my scrub opinion. I like the new combo structure... mostly. rekka 1 cancel into rekka 1 cancel repeated until you hit the wall is... not very engaging to me as a player. Like, glad I spent all that time learning how to rekka cancel, but this isn't what I wanted.

I'm glad they're going in this direction with Ram, imo they should have done it from the start since Ram was super boring on launch. I just hope that they give her ACTUAL weaknesses instead of fake ones lmao

All changes for Ram have their own nonsense to them. But you can mostly understand what they were going for. The one change i can't make a single excuse for is Dauro. What the hell were they thinking?

Ram is actually more fun now; before, her gameplay was easily boiled down to sword pressure in the corner and that really narrowed down her gameplay.

Ngl, the changes made me just drop Ram as a main. I'm happy she's better, and I hope people enjoy her, but she just kinda lost the quirky uniqueness that I really resonated with, she just feels like a generally good character without anything that feels super compelling to pick her over other characters to me.

That was the initial impression. But i see most people coming around and really enjoying Season 4. Yeah, there's gonna be obnoxious top tiers that kill you in two interactions but that's just Strive.

@yagami999913 season 3 didn't feel like this tho, the amount of overhauls is madness. It feels like an entirely different game and not in the fun way. I'm used to 2 interaction deaths, i am one of the characters that had that but this is just ridiculous.
