Thank you for explaining how important it is to pay attention and take care of things before they set you back for days. Great job.

One type of big mistake I would do when I first lost my leg was keep my liner on I'd shower and put it back on and keep it on I did that for like a 3 years now 13 years later I'm glad I didn't get more of my leg cut off here are some tips i think will help someone else . After you shower you can dry your stump then put your liner on then walk to the bed and take it off and do everything You got to do another thing if you use the lock pin system make sure you always have enough socks on that you aren't bottoming out another thing is if you have a sore rest and heal it or it'll get worst but if you have to wear it use silver would gel from Walmart use that whenever you have a wound even if you don't wear your prosthetic it heals the would fast it's like 12 bucks for the world's smallest tube but it works 💯 If anyone has questions just ask me I'll help best I can one last thing find your own ways of doing things that's easiest for you because everyone has their own way you'll find yours and as for a mental thing just know things will get better with time it's heavy for all of us amputees but we got this.

My prosthetic socket doesn't fit and he refuses to redo the socket. Arghhh

My new socket I had no idea about the suction that was supposed to happen. I am able to wear it sometimes but he won't listen to me. I wasn't shown how to care for it. I have a bf that wants me to move. I can't even work unless I get this situated. I am not sure what to do or how to find a place with dogs.

Great Video. I'd like to know the answer to the question that was asked...What level of redness concerns you and what doesn’t concern you? Is there an amount of time that that takes to go away?

More of these videos, please. I'm learning things I should have been taught but...wasn't. I have the liner-with-pin system, btk, and am on the second socket (edema = flesh is more slowly compacting). Sooner than later I hope to be on the even smaller third socket and sincerely hope that will help mitigate that "overly loose flesh feeling" that makes me feel like I can't trust my prosthetic because everything is too wiggly/wobbly loose (still on crutches b/c of that). Questions for hopefully another vid: Are there exercises I should be doing to help the flesh become more compacted (therefore less of that "fleshy movement" feeling)? How many socks should I be wearing to cushion and take up room at the bottom of my leg'let? How do I know if I need to throw on another sock? When I wear (stretchy type) jeans, I pull them up over the liner/socks and that helps mitigate pressure on the prosthetic's back brim (the bottom of the jeans leg fits very snugly). It works for me but is this ok? How tightly wrapped should I keep my limb when the liner is off like for sleeping? Is there anything else I should be aware of regarding limb, liner, and prosthetic care? How do I keep the inner liner clean and safe? Halp!
