It is forbidden to go there alone, and especially in night time. They used it as detention for student who did not - well - behave. But they were under watch, so they actually were taken care of while they were in detention. Also, teaching care of magical creatures took place in forbidden forrest, but again, they were under watch and taken care of. If you went there alone, and especially in night, nobody would actually be able to save you in case of danger. The students who disappeared most likely became something's dinner and that's also why there were taken precautions. Forbidden forrest was forbidden to go there alone for good reason. If someone caught you on the grounds somewhere else than your bed, it meant detention for you, most likely to go into forrest, however with someone who kept watch upon you. The ban upon nighttime crawling on the school grounds was to prevent students from going into the forrest on their own in night, pretty much most dangerous time to go there. Putting yourself into mortal danger is quite stupid thing you would do. Especially if it was just for fun, not for something useful, something that would help everyone other. Hope that explains why it was called Forbidden forrest despites the fact that students went there basically in daily basis...

There aren't actually werewolves in the forest, two werewolves mated at full moon and made intelligent, non aggressive wolves in the forest. People heard the howls and thought they were werewolves. Dumbledore encouraged this theory because no students were supposed to go into the forest, and that this theory would scare students off, which worked.

The "werewolves" in the forest aren't actually werewolves. They are the offspring of two transformed werewolves, who found each other, and mated during the full moon, while transformed. This is explained on Pottermore under the werewolf section, and it was also said that these wolves are extremely rare, and only appeared 5 or 6 times throughout all of recorded history.

Love how you explained that only the people who have not only seen, but also processed death are able to see thestrals. That would explain why Harry, who did see his mother being killed by Voldemort as a baby, did not actually see thestrals until fifth year at Hogwarts, after witnessing Cedric's death, when he was actually old enough to understand and process what he saw and it influenced him. :D

One thing that’s always confused me is why there are werewolves in the forbidden forest. Who are they? Where did they come from? The other creatures obviously would have no problem living in the forest full time, but werewolves would be human most of the time, so where do they go when the moon isn’t full?

The centaurs not being included in the final battle of Hogwarts was a bad decision since they had been introduced in the first film through Firenze and in the 5th film viewers see the entire colony which already gave out clues to their importance later in the series.I felt that the centaurs being cut off from the final film by Yates took away the momentum building in anticipation of the climax of the final battle because they were never given closure to seek justice for themselves much like the house elves.

You can find the answer to that in some comments to other videos - you have to really see the person die plus then go through the process of understanding what you saw. Harry didn't remember seeing his mother die, he only remembered the green light and her pleads and Voldemort's laughter. Some fans even say he didn't actually see his mother die, that he was in a crib and couldn't see properly. Nor did he go through the grieving process. He didn't understand what was happening at the time and when his conscious mind started to develop, he was already used to the fact that he's growing up with his aunt instead of mother. Being unhappy about the fact that you have no parents isn't the same as trying to come to terms with having seen someone die. It's all because he was just 1 year old at the time. Had his mother died when he was 6, for example, I think he would have seen the thestrals.

I never understood the Dementors's scene in the woods with Harry and Sirius. It was actually Harry who did the patronus? But later on, in the last movie, when Snape's memories are being portrayed, we can see his patronus in the woods. So I can really understand who actually save Harry and his godfather. Hello Victoria Escobar, no problem :-) I'll explain how it was in the books - it might be slightly different in the movies. In the books, they are two separate scenes. The first one is from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". Harry, Sirius and others get attacked by dementors who are hunting Sirius. Harry and Hermione later go back in time, they return to this scene and this Harry from the future conjures a stag patronus, saving all of them. The second scene takes place much, much later - in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Harry and Hermione are travelling all across Britain and don't know how to destroy the horcruxes. Meanwhile, Snape is the headmaster of Hogwarts and takes orders from the portrait of Dumbledore hanging in his room. Dumbledore tells Snape to go where Harry and Hermione are and to conjure a patronus that will lead Harry to the Sword of Gryffindor - the sword that they need to destroy the horcruxes. So Snape's patronus leads Harry to the sword. But it's a doe, not a stag, because Snape was in love with Harry's mother whose patronus was a doe. That happens in the wizarding world, that if you are deeply in love with someone, your patronuses will become the same. You were probably confused because a) in the first scene with Sirius, Snape is there, too - only he doesn't produce the patronus b) does are female stags so they look very similar.
