i did my locs myself and i definitely have different sized locs but honestly i ain’t trippin’. i was like you and really wanted a specific number of locs (100) so i can make something shake even though my hair wasn’t tryna agree 😭 plus my hairline is natural fine and the middle and back of my head is super thick so it was inevitable if i wanted the same size part all around. i do plan on combining the pieces in the front in the future depending on how they look. sorry for the long comment girl! just really passionate about my loc journey 😭

@@LindaElaine Hi! Cute locks btw! I had a question, so I've had my locks for about 3 months now. They've grown all the way to the back of my neck. I was wondering was that considered fast. Also, I was wondering if you had any recommendations, my hair gets really dry, and my locks become brittle.

I am two months in and I am happy with the process so far. I thought something was wrong with my hair because the way it looked after the first time. Lo and behold at my first retwist I could see growth in a video that I took. I could not tell by just looking at it. I'm glad you said that about the retwist. I have the coil locs. I also have to remember everyone's journey is different and can't get discouraged looking at someone else's. This is definitely a humbling experience and I love it so far. Hey love! When starting your locs, yes a loctitian can help those who want that, but it’s important for you to know your hair first. If you yourself don’t know which parts of your hair have a finer texture, have more / less hair, then you can’t specify those things to a loctitian for them to work with. Me personally, I have less hair on one side of my head, a very loose texture in the back & the crown of my head has hair that’s thicker than everywhere else. I believe that if I went to a loctitian, they would have gave me even parts all around my head which would result in different size locs due to the density and texture of my hair in certain areas. Because I knew my hair & started them myself, I think I got the best result. I should also mention that it definitely helps to be loose natural for a while before starting locs so that you can learn your hair. Hopefully that makes sense. Thankss for sharing! These were all great tips🤎

Thanks for the glycerin info! Definitely wash in the morning and never sleep with wet locs. Honestly, the loctitians don’t know what you want… you want locs with volume like an 8os cinema star, for example, but they will just give you the same sh you see on the next girl. When you figure out the art, you can be who you want to be, period.
