These vids have made math revision so much easier and less stressful, I picked triple science, ICT and computer science. I've got an re exam tomorrow at 9am, an English exam on Wednesday at 9am, the maths one on Friday at 9am, math PT 2 on Wednesday the june 7th at 9am, Biology on the june 13th at 9am, chemistry on june 16th at 9am and physics on june 19th at 1pm, busy few weeks but am feeling confident

hello the gcse maths tutor for edexcel in paper 1 are there specific topics that show up a lot or are they randomised?

Not really, a few things appear more frequently but any topic can appear! A good example is area of a circle, this has appeared on paper 1/2/3, paper 1 it has appeared as an “estimation” using pi as 3, but has also appeared on calculator papers (more frequently!) so to disregard certain topics for paper 1 isn’t something I’d recommend!

How do I figure out what I need to revise? do I just look through past papers that I've done and look at key points which I haven't gotten correct? Also, once I find something that I haven't gotten correct, how exactly do I know what topic it is? As it doesn't tell u it in the question itself.

Find a topics list for your exam board and whether you are doing higher or foundation and go through it. Tick off the topics you feel confident on and highlight or note down the ones that you feel unconfident on

It’s quite hard to decipher the topic names if you aren’t sure! This is where the upgrade programme become so valuable as the revision quiz tell you the topic name for each question you practice and then sends you a full report so that you can see what you can/can’t do yet! Might be worth checking that out so that you can pinpoint exactly what you need to work on 🙏🏼

The whole video is skills needed for both tiers, some of the questions here such as percentage of an amount for example could be a standalone question in foundation but could also be part of a larger problem within higher! 😁

There are very few topics that have never appeared on a non-calculator exam so it’s far too dangerous to assume a topic won’t come up! Of course some are more likely than others but it’s best to just cover everything for paper 1 and then make a more informed “best guess” for paper 2 and 3 😁🙏🏼

Exactly that! The topics that appear on both tiers! For example, expanding and simplifying appear on both tiers, so although on foundation you are usually only asked to expand two brackets as a standalone question this appears (usually!) within a lot of different topics on the higher tier 😁

iGCSE you have more marks per paper and no non-calculator paper! There are some slight differences with topic but this will 100% be useful for you! I have worked with a lot of iGCSE students at both foundation and higher and the changes in the way I teach them are very minimal, mainly higher as we also cover topics such as kinematics and differentiation/stationary points! 😁

Shouldn't the middle one in 12:07 be 5np to the power of 9? I still don't get how it's 5 to the power of 3 and than n to 3 and p to 9

Think of them as to the power of 1. 5 to the power of 1 is still 5. Since 1 X 3 is 3 it will become 5 to the power of 3. And so on..
