Honestly,in my opinion,Sekiro seems to be FROM SOFTWARES amazing effort at creating a more diverse play style maybe across all their games,instead of just having one playstyle for each of them...its a smart move as well!it gets more people playing,and basically says “hey,if you don’t like slowly turtling behind your shield,try two-handing and playing up-close” or “try to parry more attacks and mix up the two playstyles” I can see it adding more replayability to games like dark souls 3 or bloodborne. In Demon's Souls the World Tendency system was obscure, 95% of the people who played the game were probably completely unaware of the system's existence. @AdoreYouInAshXI5 жыл бұрын
@Derek Smidl Bloodborne and Souls games have always had a very vague story... story is on the back burner to atmosphere and mystery. The games are designed that way on purpose. As a child, Miyazaki was raised financially poor, and could only afford certain volumes of the books he loved, never getting the complete story. He had to fill in the blanks himself, which is why he makes his game in the same fashion. That being said, there is a ton to Bloodborne (and Dark Souls) that can be pieced together in the item/armor/weapon descriptions. In fact, this is where most of the story comes from. If you want to know the complete "unofficial" lore of Bloodborne, look up the "The Paleblood Hunt". To call the game "lazy" just because it isn't designed in the way you want, or doesn't have a fully fleshed out plot and hand delivered story is just stupid. You're essentially discrediting the amazing atmosphere, enemy and boss design, world design, level design, deep combat and gameplay and it's artistic merits. All of which have been the main focal points of the Souls series since the first game. Finally, Sekiro is supposed to be the first FromSoft game that ditches these traditional staples of the Souls series in favor of a more fleshed out single player campaign. The coop, invasions, class creations and weapon/armor enhancement have all been ditched so they could make a different type of game centered around a complete plot/story. So if you didn't like Bloodborne because it lacked story, this game should be vastly different.

I think changing up how we approach the games is going to become a staple of from Souls games. In demon/dark souls blocking and dodging was paramount. In bloodborne evasion and quick attacks were key to victory. Now is Sekiro perfect parry and timed blocks are key to victory in combat; that and surveying the battlefield for information and shortcuts unnoticed will be important. Me personally I think Sekiro fits and sits quite naturally with the other from software games designed by Miyazaki. For me the allure is not in the RPG element or knights but in the story the design of the world, it use of mechanics to teach the player about the game and lore, and without a doubt the mostly fair difficulty of the game (let's be honest there were a few cheap deaths).

@parzival_35f325 жыл бұрын
Piman46 how is the gun stupid and spammable? If you want to talke about broken talk about how OP shields were in DS1. The punishment for missed parries in BB was significant due to the counter damage you take if you miss. You couldn’t just mash attacks because of the rally system. If you got hit before recovering that hp your health was gone and if you got hit while trying to recover you take a ton of damage. Not too mention both bullets and blood vials are consumables that have to be purchased or farmed.

@@prajit1096 FromSoft does all the development and they publish it in Japan. Activision merely agreed to publish in the West. Very unlikely they have any control over any aspect of development. Activision can't force MTX in Japan. And From isn't going to make DLC for one region and not the rest. So I think we'll be fine. And I'm in no way defending activision as they're absolute scum. They lead to the demise of some of my favorite games, including Blizzards library. But I trust that From has things covered. If it happens and what I'm predicting is wrong. I'll gladly eat my words. But I'm fairly certain we're safe from bullshit. There might be an expansion akin to Old Hunters, but I don't see other micro transactions happening.

@@CrolyGiart I understand that you like ds2 and that's not a bad thing. But dmc 2? Avoid at all cost. Imagine if u played a really good game and said man I want a sequel. You get that sequel but the developers used lunch money to develop that sequel. Literally everything was broken in dmc 2 if you didn't know the pistols could kill every single living thing in that game. In the original the pistols were a small addon so you can juggle people in the air. But in the sequel you stand still and press square. That's dmc2 in a nutshell. The ai was beyond brain dead and they somehow ruined the story. How could you ruin dmcs story???? It's not even that complex. Anyways I'm sorry if this was long but people hate ds2 because it's a step-down from ds1 when you say sequel you expect everything to be improved except ds2 dumbed down Alot of things that made ds1 a classic. I could go on days and days but instead il link you to a video that perfectly explains how I feel about the game if you want. Again it's not a bad game. Great preview. Personally I loved the SoulsBorne games, but I have never been able to stick to one long enough to finish, often because I would hit a difficulty wall and not have the knowledge and skill (or time and inclination) to really maximise the efficiency of my character and "get gud". Yes I know that is half the point of those games, I am just being honest. Therefore the more streamlined approached of Sekiro really appeals to me, as I can be more confident that any steep curves are more likely to be down to my skills than my characters equipment and stats. The inclusion of the occasional need to have the right prosthesis or skill in my inventory still retains some of the 'RPG' elements others like.

While I do kinda agree with you that the lack of customization from the Souls series will be missed, this game is more on par with the likes of Tenchu, with a bit of Ninja Gaiden (although you can use different types of weapons in Ninja Gaiden). However, I like how From Software is experimenting new things rather than just repeating the "Souls Formula"; but at the same time the game has those clear vibes from the Souls series. I personally don’t like the posture mechanic. It makes some enemies tedious to kill or you can only really kill someone one way. It makes the game kinda loose some replay ability since you’ll be playing the same way each time.
@Vorenthral5 жыл бұрын
The prosthetic tools change the way you interact with enemies. If it is feeling tedious that is because you are going all hammer and nail. Try different tools you can swap them on the fly and they completely trivialize otherwise difficult fights.
