Yep. 40 years plus of dealing with this amongst other diagnoses. People don’t understand until they have lived it.

So… I suspected I might have anxiety for a while but I just brushed it off cause I didn’t think I was ever feeling anxious. For example if I voiced my worries to my friends they’d tell me to “calm down”, but I wasn’t freaking out or anything, I was just talking about what I was worried about. That being said… near the beginning of Covid, I felt a sharp pain in my chest that I never experienced before, and I knew it was advised to call the health hotline about any sudden symptoms. When I called them they said I should go to the hospital. After tests were done the doctor came to me and said they were all clear, and then asked me about my mental health. After talking for a bit he concluded I likely had anxiety. But I’m not sure yet what type of anxiety I have exactly… i have ADHD and depression as well… I do get paranoid about every pain or abnormal reaction my body has and I think something’s wrong with me… I find myself avoiding things that scare me whenever I think I can get away with it. I sometimes get panic attacks when troubling thoughts don’t leave my head. and I used to self harm when I felt the beginnings of a panic attack. So… I don’t know… (Im gonna see my psychiatrist in November, so I’m hoping to get some answers. Though I’d like to know what you think as well.) I only just started watching your videos but I think they’re great. Thank you for uploading them.

I saw your post and wanted to comment. I have diagnosed PTSD, MDD, and GAD. I have been in the hospital over anxiety attacks. It's frightening and frustrating. I am doing better with medication and therapy. It didn't go away, but I am able to manage it better. I hope you saw your psychiatrist and were able to figure something out. May God bless you and comfort you. (If you don't believe in a Christian God, I stop hope for you to find strength in your own belief system. )

This was a great video! One video I would be interested in is looking at the study about adverse childhood experiences and having poorer health later in life. Or even several videos about it haha. Either way though, I appreciate your channel!

Really appreciate this video. I was diagnosed with this about a year and a half ago; it's manageable, of course, but sure isn't pleasant on a day to day basis.

The part about what to say to your doctor was very helpful, because I think I have anxiety, and I've been to a doctor, but I have never been able to express exactly what happens to me, I don't know how to ask for help. Thank you

Hi! Thank you so much for this video. I'm a Colombia's doctor. I graduated in May 2020. My girlfriend is a doctor too, and we are both leaving for Melbourne in May 2023. First, we are going to study English, and then we will approve medicine. I'm scared, because many colleagues are already specializing here in Colombia, instead my partner and I are saving to leave. I'm scared, because I want to be a neurosurgeon, but lately I've seen that is very difficult for a Latino to access a specialization in Australia. I don't know, I wouldn't want to do everything and realize that I will not be able to be a neurosurgeon. I saw your video where you were talking with Dr. Kaishin Tanaka, but I would like you answer about that question for me, please. Thank you very much again for this video, it was great. Sorry for my english, I am learning.

Thanks for your Dr Syl. Yup, I got this in my lucky bag along with CPTSD, ASD & ADHD. Something from each category 😊. As I'm learning more about myself, I'm finding it easier to keep myself safe and relaxed. That said, as I my anxiety is triggered my my lumpy mental capacity I'm not confident I'll be able to move past it completely. Btw- I'm very low in neuroticism.

I'm autistic and I have had problems with anxiety all my life. The different diagnoses you're describing feel like one big smudge to me. When I was a child, my anxiety revolved more around specific phobias. As a teen I had a lot of social anxiety. In early adulthood it was more like panic attacks and hypochondria. Now my symptoms are a little bit more like OCD. It feels like I successfully deal with one kind of anxiety and then, like the head of a hydra, it reappears in a slightly different form.

Thanks for the good video. It was titled "everything you wanted to know about anxiety" but you were talking about generalized anxiety disorder. According to my own experience, there is also another kind of anxiety that is often associated with depression. Could you make another video about it?

I don't remember about growing up but one thing i remember is being riddled with worry and anxious feelings about my environment and growing older. Etc. Id lay in bed kost night and not able to stop the toughts and worry. At 8 i started playing music and noise in the background to shut up the thoughts or voices...

Going to a psychologist for GAD lead me to getting diagnosed with a commorbidity of Autism spectrum disorder. Gad is apparently very common in people who have ASD.

GAD is not a mental illness!. There must be a reason you're experiencing anxiety which is often a trauma of any kind, you don't have to be Army vet to get it. I wonder what impact does psychiatric medications have on long term use on humans.

Do you have it too? if yes, could you guide me by providing your valuable insights. I think mine happened after a trauma. More than anxiety, it is the so called normal people gives others hard time. With anxiety I have in fact become compassionate and courageous, but the short circuit feeling that you get drains your energy. Not being able to do all the wonderful things which once you did, makes it hard.
