Just because he had the wheelchair which was inspired by the one he famously had in the comics? Oh, and the musical cue they also used when they revealed Ms. Marvel was a mutant? Yeah, no. Aside from those superficial Easter eggs, there was nothing that even hinted at him being the same iteration. Also, Xavier in the cartoon (and comics) wasn’t British.

If they go to an "animated universe", it wouldn't surprise me. Marvel already set that up in Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse, with the Prowler/Donald Glover cameo! There is already an Animated Universe that crosses over into the MCU.
