jozef adam beňo he's torn between the right thing and his father. The ring tempted him into the latter. Then in his final moments he overcomes the temptation of the ring and chooses the right thing. However I can of prefer Faramir, his whole life his father has treated him like he doesn't exist, everything is always about Boromir. Faramir is never treated with respect and is just as noble and honourable as Boromir. But they are both 2 great characters

Maybe, but the scene in general is completely stupid - Gandalf has his staff destroyed by Witchking like he was not the most powerful wizard that moment.
@BasePuma4007
@BasePuma4007 3 жыл бұрын
@@marekkrzyszczak4759 Yeah, it's a bit head scratching. Since he's Maiar you'd think the scene isn't correct with respect to the lore, but I think things are a bit ambiguous. The witch king is the most powerful of Saurons servants and basically directly wields the terror and malice of his master. Perhaps the witch king in his most powerful state had the strength to match Gandalf or even defeat him since Sauron was a banished former Maiar, at least thats what some people argue. But even without his staff Gandalf was an absolute force not to be taken lightly by anyone, even the witch king.
@MrSRA13
@MrSRA13 3 жыл бұрын
@@BasePuma4007 the scene differs to the book with the fact the witch king breaks Gandalfs staff but it's similar in that we don't get to see what happens. Gandalf likely would have done something. The key line is 'This is my hour.' So I totally agree with your point. The stronger Sauron is, the stronger the Witch-King is, and in that moment the forces of Mordor were winning. It also makes the Witch-King seem more menacing for the viewers from a movie perspective. I didn't really have a major problem with it.

In the book it was unclear who was stronger and I get that they were trying to make the Witch-King look like a really big threat, but it seems stupid in that case that he would just fly off when Gandalf is helpless like that on the floor. Surely the Witch-King wouldn't have missed an opportunity to kill the guy who's been scuppering Sauron's plans for thousands of years?!

My favorite scene is the negotiation at the Black Gate. Aragorn refusing to believe they killed Frodo after the mouth of Sauron throws Frodos clothing at him. Shows how great his character is. These definitely should have been included. The first one adds to Boromir's character a lot, the Witch King vs Gandalf is great due to the sudden realization of Rohan's arrival, and the others are great because they add to Tolkien's vision due to them being a part of the book (aside from Aragorn chopping the Mouth of Sauron's head off which I would have liked to see changed to be more accurate).

Lord of the Rings could have easily been made into 4-6 movies. As long as the trilogy runtime is, it does t even begin to scratch the surface of what occurred in the books. And a person who hasn't read the books then has to read the them or talk to someone who has read them in order to understand what's going on.

The Extended Editions are 100% the best way to watch these movies after the first viewing, especially if you are a fan of the books. There are a lot of additions added that (while they kind of change the flow of the movie at times) feel like they belong and honestly, there are a lot of really good scenes in the Extended Edition. The Two Towers especially becomes quite a bit better after watching the Extended Edition.

The Extended Editions are in my view the only way to watch the movies. I remember sitting in the theatre, being impressed by the visuals and the storytelling but being a little bit disappointed that the action scenes flowed one into the other without some slight pauses, more meaningful moments and fleshed-out scenes. That was corrected when I got the Extended Version DVDs...I consider the theatrical release to be the hacked version!

These scenes, despite being deleted or being just in the extended versions of the movies, have, in my opinion, the same quality as the rest of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Ok, so the issue with the whole "mouth of sauron" scene (apart from Aragorn's war crime) is that if MOS is trying to discourage the good guys by leading them to believe Frodo is dead, then that implies that he (and, therefore, Sauron) is aware of Frodo's quest and that he is alive somewhere in Mordor. So then it makes no sense that Sauron failed to post a garrison at Mount Doom. Probably why this scene wasn't in the theatrical release.
@raynmanshorts9275
@raynmanshorts9275 4 жыл бұрын
In the books, I think that Frodo is merely referred to as a "spy," with them being completely unaware that he had the One Ring. Further, the reason why Mount Doom was unguarded regardless is because Sauron knew that none who bore the One Ring could bear to destroy it. Even those rare few that could give it up willingly would never be able to destroy it. And... he was right. The problem is that he didn't count on Gollum destroying it (and himself) on accident.

You know what’s nuts is if you watch the behind the scenes on RotK CG scenes, they were changing and adding scenes so ridiculously fast, they were rendering each CG scene in like 1-2 days time because that’s all that had time for as opposed to a week or more in the Fellowship. Literally altering and adding right up until late November when they had to have reels ready to ship worldwide for a DECEMBER RELEASE! The graphics team were sleeping in their conference room so they could just wake up and work before the deadlines and some even had marriages break down due to the stress. Like seriously, what film or television series has anything close to that level of dedication from its team??
