I'm a bit confused with the luxury hotel tag. I'd argue, considering the price, this would still be middle segment. Luxury would be Hilton, Amethyst, Avani, Somerset etc.?

Interesting video as always, Daz. Can I make a suggestion as someone who's lived in Thailand & Japan for many years? Because you're a polite Brit, you addressed the receptionist with, "I just wanted to ask you about your rooms: how much they were and how big they are." The poor girl was nonplussed. I doubt her hospitality English course covered polite British forms of speech and circumlocutions. After, the 'Good morning' or whatever to get attention, I humbly suggest it might be better were you to simply ask, "How much is a standard room?" Notice my polite form of suggestion. In discourse at home, we Brits are tentative and indirect to signal politeness, but it can be confusing to a non-native speaker.

Out of the 3 “luxury hotels” shown here Mytt hotel would be the only luxury hotel I would consider as others were disappointing for the prices. My idea of luxury hotels in pattaya would be; Dusit Thani, Hilton, Royal Cliff and Intercontinental….maybe Avani & Hard rock hotel too…so be interested to see reviews on any of these in future 🧐👀😉😎

Found Mytt a little underwhelming, perhaps I was unlucky. Having stayed in a few good + bad, for what it’s worth here goes. Money no object: Royal Cliff. Fabulous, way out on it’s own. Location: The Wave. Cool, classy, understated. Beach Road out the front door. Central up the Street. 2nd Road/Soi Honey out the back. Value for money: Amethyst or DeBua. Both seriously nice and well located. Best Value for money - Amber Handy for Tree Town. Something different- Sirin Exclusive, Soi 5 Pratumnak. Quiet,unobtrusive, lovely and in my opinion the nicest place of all, yet very affordable. Hope this helps someone 🙂

Agoda does add 17% VAT to the advertised price before final payment BTW. It seems so odd to me these nice hotels in old mongering areas with broken asphalt streets, old beer bars from the 90's and yet the old 900 baht hotels are gone and now fancy 3000 baht hotels take their place. 555 TIT This is Thailand. Attractive rooms in all three hotels, but personally, I would NOT want to stay in a room with the wash basin fitted in the entrance to the room, rather than in the bathroom proper. I could never stop the water, soap, toothpaste etc escaping the basin = messy floor. I just think it is a silly design feature.

Agreed. Mid priced 3.5 to 4 star hotels, in low season, is my style of accommodation!
@mepm4 ай бұрын
Pretty pricey for 4 star hotels, and soi 3 is a bit too far out of the way for my liking. You can get much bigger rooms at a 5 star hotel like grand palazzo for alot cheaper if you dont mind being out of the way (or just ignore the star rating because lets be honest the star rating is a bit bs in Pattaya). Can pay half these prices for a decent buakhao hotel like debua or amethyst or an LK and the luxury level will be the same as these.
@rdefacendis4 ай бұрын
I would not describe any of these hotels as luxury. Pleasant but not luxurious. It is curious to me that all vloggers seems to completely ignore The Hilton in Pattaya... When you want to be downtown Pattaya... not Pratumnak, not Jomtien, not Wongamat... but Pattaya... the Hilton is one of the very few luxury accommodations available. Royal Cliff and Royal Wing BTW are NOT in Pattaya they are in Pratumnak. BTW - NOTHING in Pattaya can compare to Bangkok luxury...
