I've had 5 of the EP One since batch #3 (I think). They are - hands down - the best presence sensors I have. Other mm sensors and PIR sensors do not even compare in reliability and flexibility. I make heavy use of the ability to differentiate between motion and presence to trigger different automations depending on the time of day or what mode a room or the house is in.
@JonLinde5 күн бұрын
... I will be ordering some more, replacing some of the other sensors I have around the house. I wanted to use some for the outdoors as well, but have now installed some Reolink cameras with IA person detection instead (sorry).

@Blex_0405 күн бұрын
You're talking about the Aqara FP2? Because I just received an FP2 I ordered couple of days ago before discovering the Everything Presence sensors and now I'm thinking of returning it and ordering a couple of EP1/EPL 😂
@neilmartin835 күн бұрын
@ yeah - the FP2 is a nice sensor but for my use case - EPL is better because: Cheaper CO2 sensor is nice - use them in bedrooms Ability to use GPIO for other things - I added a DHT11 to one of my EPLs for temp/humidity No ghost detections like the FP2 sometimes does (that’s better these days to be fair) Higher resolution for the exclusion zone Was finding in my living room if 2 people were in there and one got up and left, it would stop detecting the remaining person if they were sitting down - even when they moved around a bit. EPL is better there for me. I was stupid and just missed out on the Black Friday deals - bought a couple the other day 😭 but did just snag one more today with the 10% off. Still a bargain - Lewis has really done the community a solid. ❤️

So many wonderful updates! I was a bit worried when I saw the title because I've been an early adopter, but these are for everyone! I'm especially thankful that the injection molded cases are available standalone for the EP1. Just a note, the website still says "Please note, because this is a 3D printed product..." even though it does say they're injection towards the top. Cheers and thank you!
@DaveyGoose5 күн бұрын
Also, I'll +1 that the PIR is super useful for automations. I let the PIR turn on the light, and it stays on until the mmWave goes still. Far fewer false positives than relying on either by themselves

In the zone configurator, are you able to import a floor-plan to help plan out the zones? Then later on might be cool to import a complete floor plan, and add sensors to cover the area (so people can plan how many sensors they need to fit out their house and really visualize zones in the house) similar to the UniFi Design Center.
