My first character was a warlock. I choose that class because I played a necromancer in Diablo 2. I did all my quest. Its a bit fuzzy being since like 2005 but it was like level 1 imp level 10 voidwalker and a robe level 20 succubus and a staff level 30 felhunter level 40 felstead level 50 inferno and DM trinket level 60 Dreadstead and Doomguard

As someone who plays warlock a lot it makes me really sad to see how uninformed people are in this comment section and in asmons stream. Warlock was a mess from the end of mists to the launch of BFA with a lot of issues that blizz ignored for the longest time due to the lasting stigma of affliction warlock performance, while the other spec's were straight up terrible, especially destruction that had really bad sustained damage until their rework late legion. The pets HAD to be reworked, the passive bonuses basically forced destruction warlocks to use imps for optimal damage so they had no interrupts and had to use an inferior talent to even get a stun, affliction warlocks had bonuses to felhunter so they already benefitted from having the best pet and being able to drain soul during fear (fear was garbage to every other spec because of the damage cancel mechanic), demonology had to use the spec demon for optimal damage, which didn't have good abilities. The doomguard summon was a waste of a soul shard because it had bad scaling, bad synergy and bad A.I, infernal was good for AOE and a small stun though. The newly added demons are so much better and so much more useful than the old shit, especially because you don't waste soulshards to summon them. The grimoire that allowed permanent use of the doomguard or infernal was a noob trap that gave bad or lazy locks an excuse for not doing their job in interrupting because it replaced the basic pets. Using the felhunter was obligatory for challenge dungeons and m+ because locks have their dehabils (interrupt and purge) locked to one pet. The doomguard and infernal permanent didn't even do more damage than the other talents and using them was basically griefing in mythic+. Using the infernal as a permanent also disabled the on demand stun summon which means one less cc ability. Now that almost all the issues with the other lock specs have been fixed we are seeing a more even distribution of the 3 specs. Destro has become a single target burst damage spec that is very popular in dps check bossfights, Demo is a very versatile but immobile AOE spec (they are a bit too strong as they are currently replacing affliction), affliction is the spec for damage meter whores in single target due to their insane stat scaling (they are supposed to be AOE too, but demo does it better RN).

@@Av1K0n i think you need to improve your reading comprehension, Destro was one of the best spec's in MoP but was nerfed into the ground after the expansion ended because of their PvP dominance. That nerf killed them as a PvE spec. They had some of the worst DPS in the game after that, only toppled by enchancement shamans. PvP is a secondary consideration and should never dictate the balance of PvE, you know, the thing that actually matters in MMORPG's. My statements are based on what i experienced in mythic raid progression. Your partner abused MoP destro to the fullest and didn't get the wakeup call in Wod, handicapping himself instead of playing a better spec, i can't imagine why someone that competitive would play destro instead of affliction, every single warlock in competitive play was affliction before BFA launched and they still dominate the scene.

In Vanilla and BC i used to go into BG's and while we were waiting for the BG to start i would ask people to help me summon the Doomguard. Most of them didn't have a clue what was about to happen. :) Funny stuff.

Demonology warlocks have a very cool new talent in the last tree. You have a big cooldown spell who summons a portal and a massive army of random demons attack your enemy, you can even randomly summon Prince Malchesar. But the talent is the worst in tier and nobody uses it. Just like the Doom, we have that spell like a talent, but it fucking sucks and you have to choose another talent for a bigger DPS. They deleted so much cool spells, (except Demonic Empower, ty for deleting that piece of shit of a spell) or put them into talents. I liked when my warlock could summon a giant fucking army of different demons, it is the only summoning spec in the game, it is unique and that is the reason I play him since they deleted his Metamorphosis. But at least he is one of a few specs if not the only which has a few different builds, and one of them require the same Azerite perc in every piece of armor. And we even have a talent which greatly changes the spec. They could do things so better, but they afraid to change the rotation spells during the patch so we always have to wait for a year or more. And many specs need this right now, like survival hunter which was really cool in Legion but he became a 3-button dogshit in BfA.

2 weeks ago in Light's Hope Northdale I remember one alliance warlock was standing close to Darkshire and putting Curse of Doom at some rats and 10-15 minutes later there was 3 Doomguards close to the road waiting for low level players to approach. Imagine the level of trolling... XD

all warlock pets suck... in legion it was cool to have a permanent Infernal or Doomguard but there was no synergy between the warlock and its pets in any expansion, (with the slight exception to the Felhunter which did more damage to targets afflicted with curses) besides that all warlock pets were just go and attack and auto cast everything, its boring. I wish they'd make warlock pets be more like hunter pets and have them more involved with warlock rotations.
