His voice is just as almost-adult in the 2D cartoon as well...in the Swedish and Finnish versions. That's how Moomintroll always sounds. The only reason he sounded so young in the English dub was becuz it was based on the Japanese version, and OF COURSE they made him sound adorable in the Japanese version.
