The red and the black Horde Trooper were released in the “Eternia -The legend continues“-Line by Musashi Toys in 2008. Unfortunately, the line got canceled due to copyright infringement. The black one was the “Horde Captain“ and the red one was a regular “Hordesmen“. There were other figures planed in that line, e.g. Keldor, Lord Faker, Lord Masque, Lord Icer etc. Could have been a great line. 🙂

I was just looking at my set and realized the backing behind the figure bubble is removable. When you pull it out it reveals even more insane artwork! I really just had my mind blown because in all the images prior to buying the set I never saw this. I won’t spoil what it is here in case you own it and want to be surprised yourself.

I was only going to get Faker and Scareglow. Those 2 are my favorites. After getting them, I got hooked on them and The Masters Of The WWE. The fact that Sgt Slaughter and Mr T could hang out in Grayskull is pretty awesome. Both lines can work with each other.

Love your videos. I totally hear ya bout getting stuff retail. I ordered the Mysteries of Grayskull pack from Mattel Creations in September, and on November 24th I got a notification that my item had shipped (even gave me a tracking number), yet today I got another text saying my order has been cancelled and I'm being refunded because their overseas courier couldn't deliver the package. Yet their courier said they received the shipping info from Mattel Creations but no package. Really quite disappointed and upset about the run-around and shifting of blame. Feels like us Aussies don't really matter sometimes. Sorry for the rant - just wanted to talk to another enthusiastic collector about this. Happy New Year and i hope you have a truly amazing 2022. Excellent video of an excellent set! Thank you! Man, talk about deep dives on the packaging. That slime monster next to the Slime Pit on the back of the box was based on a 1986 toy concept by James McElroy that never got made. If you've got "The Power & The Honor Foundation Catalog Volume 1," you can find the original drawing of the Slime Monster on page 69 (Stop snickering, Pearson!), and the weird-looking plant is a Mark Taylor concept from page 16.

Salutations, Pixel Dan: suggesting this as you are one of the chief torch bearers for MOTUPOP. you should do a review of the "I am He-Man", "I am She-ra", and "I am Skeletor" Little Golden Books that Mattel and Golden Books released in 2019. They are still on the market. They really are a wonderful way to get small kids introduced to the MOTUPOP universe in early childhood ( a great way to keep the franchise/mythos alive), and I'm very pleased to see that they properly keep the MOTUPOP mythos unified in presentation ( Clamp Champ even makes a cameo in the She-ra book!! ). I think it'd be great if the main MOTUPOP torch-bearer champion all-stars like you, Val Staples, James Eatock and Scot Neitleich, did videos getting word on these little treasures out there for any MOTUPOP fans who want to gift them to little potential future MOTUPOP fans.

I assumed the Troopers were supposed to be like those Fuerza-T-esque “Eternia” Trooper bootlegs from the early noughties. They were red and black, used to see em on eBay quite a lot

Pixel dan if you are ever in Trinity Alabama you need to try total nostalgia. It's a retro toystore that is full of classic toys, and new ones. Second area has comics, cards, games, mangas and pops. It's two stores in one. It's full of kids on weekends and doing really well. Owner will talk toys with you also. plus you can buy a 80s gobot there! You might enjoy it if you are ever in town.

Does anyone know what the design of Hordak's arm cannon is referencing? I'm not an expert on the She-Ra series, but I don't remember his transformed arm being this shape - it was more streamlined (read; easy to animate) in the filmation designs, and a cursory google of 'Hordak arm cannon' isn't revealing anything. Is it a new design?

The vintage horde crossbows had different figure-head sculpts for each original character...these seem to be missing now in Origins. As you compared both Grizzlors you may see there's a horn on the vintage dragonhead. I counted once 5 different of them I guess.

Maybe they've just got the one mould at the moment, and will fix them with different moulds for the retail releases? Although considering how cheap a lot of the toy manufacturers are getting these days to cut costs, who knows? We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

If this set hadn’t been so damn expensive, I would have tried getting it. Hopefully we’ll get the standard Grizzlor sooner rather than later. At least the standard Horde Trooper is scheduled for the next wave. Just out of curiosity, why haven’t you done a review on Buzz-Saw Hordak? He’s been out for quite a while now.

That packaging is very unique and cool. I would have even saved that as a kid. The box has an action feature! Sadly the timing of this release made it impossible for me to pick up. I hope they re-release a Grizzlor on a single card at the very least. Honestly he is the only figure I wanted in this set anyway.

So on the red Horde trooper, he'll have a black bat emblem, right? "No, no, no! He'll have a silver bat emblem!" But it doesn't match his other colors! "It'll match his weapons. They each get a crossbow and a staff. One crossbow's red, the other is silver, one staff is silver, and the other one's black." Oh, okay, so the Black Horde trooper will get the black staff? "No, no, no, no!!! The Black Horde Trooper gets the silver staff!!!" But... it doesn't match his outfit! "What did I tell you about matching outfits?" Ohh, it'll match his other weapon! "The other weapon is the crossbow, and that'll match their emblems: One's red and one's silver." So the Black Horde Trooper will get the.... eauhh.... silver? crossbow?...? "I'LL *&#%ing KILL YOU!!" -Mattel

I wish they'd jusy made more Horde Troopers! They had one run of the two-packs which sold out in less than five minutes, and then nothing for years, until the single-carded one right before the line died. If they'd've kept churning out the 2-Packs, I would've bought one a month until the line ended, and had at least fifty or sixty of the buggers.

I have this set and I am really pissed about the lack of quality. The plastic feels cheap and the figs are wobbly on the legs. The packaging is brilliant, but the figs suck 😒
