I think you guys are taking the quote too literally. The "Devil" could be anyone who pretends the bad things they're doing isn't "evil", whereby painting it as "good" or anything but evil. The "Devil" is also known as the "The Great Deceiver", and to deceive you must first believe in your own lie. So if you deny your own misdeeds by lying about it, you're basically propagating "evil" to flourish, by convincing yourself that you're not evil, as though your would-be misdeed didn't exist. You're your own "Devil" for letting that happen, so to speak. That's my interpretation on the quote, anyway. Please don't hate.

It's not about doing good or bad it's about trusting in the finished work of the cross in the fact that he was God and he holds everything together by the word of his power. This wonderful Navajo teacher, teaches a lot of beautiful universal spiritual truth and nothing he has ever said has ever gone against what The Bible and what Jesus Taught.. It goes back to the sons of God who God commissioned to rule over the different tribes of the world. The majority of those sons of God did not follow their commission. They rebelled against God. Psalm 82. I believe that there were a few that remained true to their tenant to teach love and truth and beauty. The apostle Paul refers to them as the principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness and heavenly places. And when Jesus died on the cross And rose again he defeated them. Now we await the redemption and the resurrection and the promise of his 2nd coming. And you can be guaranteed that as creator, father God he is not slack concerning his promises..

You're thanking him for being old and not dieing? He's an elder in his society because he's old, not sure what the correlation between elderly and wise is here. How are you making this connection? In the nomadic tribes people used to be old because they were smart. Nowadays people are ignorant and live to be 100 because of the modern science medicine has acquired by process of trial and error.
@skotward3 жыл бұрын
@@tyrionlannister3459 Yes, I am thanking him for being an elder, for being old and wise, with a wisdom that comes with years of life lived, why do you have a problem with that? Why is that an issue for you?
@skotward3 жыл бұрын
@@tyrionlannister3459 There is a reverence for elders in native cultures because being an elder is correlated with wisdom. I'm not thanking him for being old! I'm thanking him for sharing wisdom he's learned during the process of his life. I thought I had made that clear in my first comment?
@tyrionlannister34593 жыл бұрын
@@skotward Being old doesn't make people wise. Education and the ability to apply it logically per the specific scenario, takes wisdom. My issue is adults pretending make-believe is real and serious and asserting it as though it was backed up by evidence. Old stories are old stories. Belief doesn't make them true. That's what facts and evidence do. Aren't you like 30? Haven't you heard all this before and never seen anything remotely near evidence being produced, and verified? Levels of evidence matter. It being verified also matters. If truth is what the facts are, what is left when the facts are missing? Not the truth. That's my issue. Zero facts are being shown. Just here's an old story, it's true for reasons. Aren't you old enough to have seen this happen repeatedly with different subjects. Ancient aliens, Sumerian records, the bible/Torah/Koran, any other religions, and all other ancient stories like, finding Jericho, Troy, Noah's ark being found dozens of times at different locations, UFO abductions, Bigfoot sightings, and all the other crap people pass of as real without ever having any evidence that is conclusive. That's my issue. Then I see someone thanking a person who is old for being old and trusting their words for not one single good reason. Just he's old, and a native American, I can trust him without question or evidence. They're not even native Americans. Humans didn't evolve outside of Africa. The only humans in their native land are still in Africa. Native American my ass. They imegrated here just like everyone else did to everywhere outside of the African continent. Those humans are native Africans. The only humans in their native land.
@skotward3 жыл бұрын
@@tyrionlannister3459 Even if evidence was supplied to you for the things which you mentioned, you wouldn't even entertain it as being the truth because it doesn't fit into the framework of your reality. So you can argue all you want about how people who believe the things that you don't are irrelevant, because they can't prove to you what they're saying, but even if they tried, you wouldn't allow them to, because you wouldn't even listen to them. That doesn't make you an intellectual, it just makes you intolerant. Your looking for one singular provable truth, and anything that doesn't fit into that is bullshit in your opinion. But, all this aside buddy, all this aside, you originally got upset because I was thanking someone for sharing their truth. If that upsets you so much, then by all means, just keep on walking around repeating your own truth mantras and closing yourself of from the rest of the world. It's got to suck living in an echo chamber bubble; I couldn't live that way.
