Hey Jason. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great vids. The way you teach works out perfect for beginner guitarist or like myself, an older guy that has picked it up and set back down over the years. Just seems to meet us where we are and you come across like you really care about helping us out. Awesome job!

I've been wanting to learn guitar since childhood. I'm almost 40 now and only now do I feel like I can really grasp music and the intricacies. I'm still shopping around for good equipment to learn on though.

Dude, I’m 41 and I’ve been playing since 14 (bass mostly) and I really didn’t begin to appreciate music and it’s intricacies fully until my divorce 😂

Man, I've got an interview with a friend who was big in the 80s metal scene that started playing again after 20 years - it's never too late for us! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGivh5xqhZyYbJo

I think it’s crazy how differently I listen to music now that I’ve been playing guitar for a while. My parents were always like “how do you listen to that metal stuff with screaming and all that, that’s awful” 🤣 I’m just there thinking…can you not hear what’s going on in the song? All the intricate little details that you end up being able to pick up on, that’s what I love about it
@jasonstallworth3 ай бұрын
Yeah we listen to music much differently that normal folks that don't play instruments! On that note, I try my best not to think about complexity of riffs or solos. In other words, I don't want to just write music in attempt to impress other guitar players, if that makes sense.

Another great tutorial. Thanks Jason. Reminds me of Helloween from the late 80s

🖤🖤🖤 Nice lesson , can You advise how to manage if there is only one guitar and bass n the band - I mean no second guitarist THX
@jasonstallworth2 ай бұрын
For playing live, just stick with the main riff. You could also use a harmonizer pedal but if it were me, I'd just play the main riff. For recording, like the album, then you can go back in and record the 2nd harmonizing guitar

Looks like your tremello picking is in Harmonic minor. I suspect your tremello notes are 16ths.
@jasonstallworth3 ай бұрын
Dude, I couldn't tell you 😅 I never think about theory of scales when writing. It's usually tying that to the riff after the fact. 16ths, yes
